A Moonlit Night  by Elvenesse

A Moonlit Night

Laughing, Éowyn glanced about them and then pulled Faramir into the moonlit stable.

Faramir looked about nervously, “Are you sure no one noticed us leaving the hall?”

“Yes,” Éowyn replied, pressing him against one of the empty stalls. “My brother was very much occupied with his ale.” She pressed her body against his, and tilted her head up to capture his lips in a gentle kiss, which he returned with ardour as he pulled her closer.

“Is that so little sister?” growled a voice out of the darkness, as Éomer entered the stable. “Unhand Éowyn at once!” he snapped at Faramir.

Flustered, Faramir moved Éowyn away from himself. “Éomer,” he began placatingly, but Éowyn cut him off.

“Firstly, brother, you know my honour is safe with Faramir. And secondly, you are to stop this right now! You may find it amusing, but Faramir obviously does not.

As Éomer began to laugh, Faramir realised that he had not been shaking with rage, but with suppressed laughter.

“By the Valar,” he murmured, lowering his head into his hands, “how could you do that to me?”

Éomer clapped him on the shoulder, “Come now, you should have seen your face!”
