GamgeeFest · 1 July 2005 · Chapter 19: I Miss You Dearly

I caught up! I've been really horrible about keeping up to date on this. I love how you described Frodo's happiness when he realized the letter wasn't from Bilbo, and Gandalf's worry about getting Frodo home in time. Frodo's dream was both soothing and sad, to see how his parents would love him and to know that Frodo realized it was all a dream and they were gone. Just one question: did Gandalf tell Frodo that Merry wrote the letter? Was that chapter skipped or did Gandalf decide to wait for later to tell him?

Eruviluieth · 29 November 2004 · Chapter 19: I Miss You Dearly

This is brilliant. Sorry for your loss. Your writing is beautiful. I'm eager to find out how it all turns out. Eruviluieth

Author's reply

I'm glad you like it. :) Thank you! And thank you for your concern. Please stay for the next chapter!

Lily the Hobbit · 29 November 2004 · Chapter 19: I Miss You Dearly

This was so beautiful and sad at the same time. A wonderful chapter and a wonderful remembrance to your father.

Author's reply

A wonderful review from a wonderful friend. :)

Mistarry · 2 November 2004 · Chapter 6: Midnight Woes

Oh, poor Merry! This is a marvelous story!

Author's reply

Thank you so much for reading and liking the story, Mistarry! I really appreciate that.

Lily the Hobbit · 2 November 2004 · Chapter 18: Bag End

NO!!! Please say that nothing has happened to him!

Author's reply

Well, I can't tell yet at the time being, Lily. Thank you!

Breon Briarwood · 2 November 2004 · Chapter 18: Bag End

ACK! No! Hm, let's see.... lightning strike? illness again? half-drowned in the storm? Maybe he's jusr dead-tired? Yeah, that sounds good.... *hopes the next update comes quickly. Poor little Frodo needs some serious TLC!*

Author's reply

TLC? Hmm. That's a good idea. :)

Grey Wonderer · 2 November 2004 · Chapter 18: Bag End

Poor frodo! Now what will he have to go through just to be with Bilbo where he belongs. I am glad that you have posted more of this one. I was wondering what was going to happen to Frodo and to Merry also. Looking forward to more.

Author's reply

To be with Bilbo will make everything easier, right? Thank you again, GW!

Frodo_Baggins · 1 September 2004 · Chapter 17: Everyone Loves You

Breon Briarwood · 1 September 2004 · Chapter 17: Everyone Loves You

Bad Iorhael! You made me cry.... “I know no one will miss me.” *sob* *sniffle* *hugs Frodo tightly*

Author's reply

Oh, please don't cry... He'll be alright soon. Meeting Bilbo and Merry and everything will be alright...

Lily the Hobbit · 1 September 2004 · Chapter 17: Everyone Loves You

I almost missed that chapter! I can't wait for Frodo to be reunited with Bilbo again! *waits impatiently*

Author's reply

He will reunite. Don't worry. Thank goodness you didn't miss. Thank you for reviewing!!

Grey Wonderer · 1 September 2004 · Chapter 17: Everyone Loves You

At last! Someone is going to tell Frodo the truth! Way to go, Gandalf! I am now wondering how Frodo will take the news when he hears what Merry has done. Hope there is more of this soon.

Author's reply

I'm trying to get to Frodo's mind to make sure he acts accordingly to his character when he's told about Merry. That's quite tough!

Pervinca · 27 June 2004 · Chapter 16: Almost There

Again, I must apologise for taking so long to review one of your chapters! I was in the middle of exams when you updated, and I had to remind myself to come back and read this chapter. I hope that Finbar isn't leaving your story now :( I liked him - he's a very good OC. I also think you've written Gandalf quite well! - Pervinca

Author's reply

Reviews are always welcome anytime! Thanks, Pervinca! Hope you got good marks for your exam! Btw, Finbar did have to leave, I guess. :(

JULES6 · 20 June 2004 · Chapter 16: Almost There

“I will miss you, Finbar,” Frodo choked. ME TOO ME TOO - I liked Finbar - but I understand that we must all let go of the ones we love sometimes. LOL I hope its to be continued, because it is too good a tale to end now. I am going back to re-read certain parts that I liked before just to get my angst kick for the day. Thanks for sharing your talent. I like how you are writing Gandalf, I have to do that yet in my story and it scares me silly more than any other character. Waiting for more always. JULES

Author's reply

Oh, July, You reviewed twice! How nice of you... and how bad of me for not replying earlier. You're right. Sometimes we have to let go things or people we love. And it hurts most of the times. Oh, my. I'm not that talented. :) And thanks for liking my Gandalf. Hehe.

Arwen Baggins · 18 June 2004 · Chapter 16: Almost There

Poor Frodo, having to leave a new friend! But at least he's got Gandalf and I can't wait to see what will happen when he sees Bilbo - and Merry - again. That'll be interesting to say the least.

Author's reply

I can't wait either! ALthough that will mean the story has come to an end. Thanks for your review, Arwen!

Pervinca · 2 May 2004 · Chapter 15: Halting Disclosure

I finally got around to reading this new chapter! I've been so busy with study, that I'm only just catching up on all my fave story updates from last week. I really hope my favourite little Brandybuck isn't going to get himself into *more* trouble by stowing away with the searchers! Poor Merry. And the meeting between Gandalf, Finbar and Frodo was an interesting one. I loved the way that you've built up the tension in this chapter. I'm really glad that I *know* everything will work out in the end, otherwise, this story would be making me so much more upset!

Author's reply

Pervinca, I'm just glad you're still following this story. Right now I'm in the middle of trying to make everything 'work out' so as not to make you depressed. Thanks for always coming and reviewing!

Arwen Baggins · 29 April 2004 · Chapter 15: Halting Disclosure

As if Merry wasn't in enough trouble already! Honestly, he won't be able to sit down for a month when his parents find out. I can't wait for when he and Frodo see each other again! I'm sure that will be worth the wait. And as for Frodo lying to a wizard? Stubborn or not, I can't believe he would outright lie like that when he knew who Gandalf was. But then again, I doubt he can even guess at Gandalf's ability to read memories...so I'll give you that. He just might believe he could get away with it. Silly Baggins, he's in for it now! That's for sure! Keep it coming!

Author's reply

Yes. Frodo might know Gandalf but he hasn't known all about him. I guess the journey with the wizard will be some kind of a trial for him. Thanks for the review, dear!

Grey Wonderer · 27 April 2004 · Chapter 15: Halting Disclosure

So glad to see more of this. I have missed Finbar and I have been wondering what would happen next. I am so glad that Gandlaf has arrived, but now I am worried about Merry! Hope there is more soon. You have such a way of keeping me in suspense on this one, but I love it!

Author's reply

GW, hi! This is an absolute belated reply. Sorry! As much as I want to update this more often, I keep being sidetracked by the writing of other stories. :) Oh, Merry! Yes, he is in for another trouble now. Thanks for coming by again.

JULES6 · 14 April 2004 · Chapter 13: Encounters

Dear Iorhael, I am torn in two places - part of me wants to have Frodo return to Bilbo who is so distraught over him missing. But then the other half of me wants him to stay with Finbar forever. Maybe we could have two rangers in the Fellowship - (slinks away before anybody comes after me with pitch forks for that suggestion - not meant to be a serious one.) Just thought Finbar could come in handy in a scrap. JULES

Author's reply

Finbar would be so proud if he could join the fellowship. :) Hey, maybe I could have an AU with him in the fellowship!

JULES6 · 14 April 2004 · Chapter 12: Finbar's Proposition

Hi Iorhael, I loved the sadness and loss of Bilbo for Frodo. And Gandalf was great in this and his reassurance and comfort of a dear old friend. I really liked how Finbar just picked up Frodo outside the house in concern that he was ill again. And I loved Frodo's complaint that he was alright. I have said it before, but I will again - I really like the Finbar character - so much love and kindness for our dear hobbit Frodo - who seems to need it in abundance from us all. LOL Still, Frodo could not help feeling sorry for himself, and for the another countless time in his life, rejected again. Yes, and Frodo often seems to feel sorry for himself - he almost needs a Sam in this chapter. Keep up the good work - onto the next chapter. JULES

Author's reply

I hope Frodo wouldn't feel sorry for himself too long. I'm trying to portray him getting more mature in the next chapter, especially with all the experience he got. I'm always amazed at your comments. Really!

Pervinca · 30 March 2004 · Chapter 14: Across the Land

It's about time you updated this ;P Very good chapter, I loved it. I especially thought that the comparison between the spring and the Brandybuck family was wonderful. Please continue soon! :)

Author's reply

I actually never planned the comparison. It just flowed from my fingers and I couldn't stop them! Thanks for liking it!

Grey Wonderer · 29 March 2004 · Chapter 14: Across the Land

Oh what a place to stop! Who is there? I was so glad to see more of this one posted as I really do enjoy it. I love the way you write Frodo and I am very attached to Finbar. Would love to see that little spring myself from the way you discribe it.

Author's reply

Hugs from Finbar to you! He's such a nice ranger. And the little spring, I'm relieved it went out well. *hugs*

Frodo_Baggins · 2 March 2004 · Chapter 13: Encounters

hello, it's me, FrodoBaggins87. nice chapter! suspense is lovely. I hope Gandalf found Frodo and Finbar. I wonder what the hobbits will do about the house they found...

Author's reply

Hmm, what will the hobbits do? :) BTW! Thanks for coming here. I just enjoy writing this story and having people read and review it is just so rewarding.

Pervinca · 2 March 2004 · Chapter 13: Encounters

Ahh! This story is getting better all the time. I especially loved Gandalf's thought about the peace in the Shire being on the surface only. Such a small comment that reveals so much. You will have to put out the next chapter soon, now that Gandalf seems to have discovered Frodo and Finbar! :)

Author's reply

I'll try my best to continue this. Thanks so many, oops, so much for reading and liking this story.

Grey Wonderer · 2 March 2004 · Chapter 13: Encounters

WOW! Looks like everyone is getting the wrong idea about everything! This could get even more interesting. Hope there is no trouble for Finbar as I quite like him. I will be waiting for more. This is very good.

Author's reply

Hmm... Honestly, your comment sparked something in my mind. This is just what I need. Thanks a lot!

Pervinca · 17 February 2004 · Chapter 12: Finbar's Proposition

Oh dear - I'm starting to feel sorry for Frodo. Now *that* is quite an achievment for you to manage that! Glad to see that Gandalf has entered the mix - he's always been one of my favourite characters. And if Finbar is taking Frodo West across the Shire they're bound to meet someone who'll let Frodo know about Merry's little bit of mischief! Good chapter, please continue soon!

Author's reply

Ah, thanks a lot for your kind words! Yes, Frodo will find out about Merry's misbehaved act soon. Wonder how he might react.
