Thank you, Kitty! I'm checking with the admins to see what email address you can send it to. I'll post another comment here when I find out.

Lindelea, if Fiondil's story "Christmas at Edhellond" can't be restored any other way, I still have a copy of it as a Word document, if that would help? It would be sad if it got lost from this archive, even more so as it is part of a bigger series.

So sorry this has happened! I'm missing just one story, "By Such A Foolish Name." Best wishes on getting things restored as much as possible. I'll hold off reposting unless/until you let us know that it's certain that you won't be able to restore the lost stories. Thanks for your hard work!

I’m not an author on the site (yet) but I really want to say thank you for your continued efforts to keep this amazing site up and running. I love this site, and I really appreciate your efforts. This place has been a comfort through many difficult trials in my life and I would be really sad to see it go. Thank you for keeping it going!!!

It seems two works I have published have vanished. One was published in the fall of 2018 titled Dol Guldur, full length novel. Another was published in the fall of 2024 called Days of the Dunedain, much shorter piece. Not sure what can be done. I probably have a version in Word someplace which I could try to republish unless you have other suggestions. Arnakhor

Demeter d: Thank you for reporting that Fiondil’s story was deleted. If it is archived elsewhere, even at the internet archive, the SoA admins can repost the story and reupload the chapters.

I just checked. They stole Fiondil's "Christmas at Edellhond." I was happy this morning to see PSW reposting lost stories. I thought to check Fiondil's work. I do not imagine that he can re-post from where he is.

Hello all! Seven of my stories are gone: Destiny's Child An Ember of Joy A Day of Celebration A Love of the Halfling's Leaf A Light in Midwinter Bound by Duty; Bound by Joy Hope is Kindled I can reload the stories but I do not have the reviews saved anywhere. If you restore them it would be greatly appreciated. My reviews do mean a great deal to me. If not it is what it is! (((hugs))) MM

You know - I think I will just repost my missing stories. I am sad to lose the reviews and will definitely be happy if you stumble across them! But you all already have so much to do with this and if I can take this tiny bit off of your list of stresses I am happy to do so. Anyway, maybe it will give more recent readers a chance to stumble across them too… Thx again for all your work on this site - I am not always here very often, but I do very much enjoy it. :-)

I forgot my decades-old password to the site. I requested an email reminder from the "forgot password" button, but I haven't received anything.

shirebound · 19 January 2025 · Chapter 1: 18 Jan 2025 Security Breach

Thank you for the notice, and for all your work on this site. My most recent story is missing -- "Capturing a Star".

PSW · 18 January 2025 · Chapter 1: 18 Jan 2025 Security Breach

Also - it doesn’t seem to want to allow me to change my password. Are there certain password requirements? It could be I just am not doing it right …

PSW · 18 January 2025 · Chapter 1: 18 Jan 2025 Security Breach

Hello! That’s disappointing - I hope you’re able to get them back but understand that sometimes this is impossible. I am missing ‘Beyond Imladris’, ‘Delayed’, and ‘Her Samwise’. Will wait to hear from you whether I should re-upload them. Thx so much for all your hard work!

Itarille · 18 January 2025 · Chapter 1: 18 Jan 2025 Security Breach

Thank you for highlighting this. I noticed that my story "Barahir Writes" has disappeared. Is there any way to restore it? Or should I re-upload it as a new story? Thank you for your efforts in keeping this site alive!
