· Chapter 1: Frodo's Departure
Although Tolkien wrote the part about Frodo going to the Grey Havens - and although I understand the reasons behind it - I never really liked that this beautiful friendship that had endured so much over such a long period of time was broken up.
Truly sad.
Thanks for your story though.

I know, I hate that it had to end that way! I've never written a reunion fic before, maybe I'll try one day. I'd love to right one where Frodo doesn't leave, but I'm not much of an AU writer really.
Thanks for reading again!

Sorry for taking so long to answer your review!!! *fwaps self*
Thank you, thank you! Knowing I brought you in enough to make you cry means a LOT to me! I'm a bit overly critical of myself sometimes, so these things boost my ego ;) , not to mention feed my muse, Lilly.
I will hopefully get some new stories out soon.
Thanks again!

I really liked your first paragraph where Sam pleads with the elements to return the ship to the harbour.
It is a sad chapter, but nicely done for your first story. Hope that there will be happier times to come.
One thing, though, The Grey Havens is a harbour where elves sail from to the west, to Avallone, the blessed realm where Frodo will find peace.
Will be looking forward to your next chapter

Sorry I've taken so long to reply! I ALWAYS make a point of replying to reviews, so I don't know what happened.
Thanks so much for the compliments and corrections.
This story is going to just be a one-shot, so no updates, but I DID re-write this story for an english paper last year. Perhaps I'll clean it up and post it.
Thanks again!

Wonderful writing - great emotional tugs and sadness mixed together - you did really well for your first one. I think you wrote it just right.
