· Chapter 15: Embodiment of Valor
I learned that it can take more courage to live than to die.
This is very true, for everyone. A very nice conversation!
Author's reply
Yes, this stems from my own experience with depression. Thank you!

· Chapter 2: Mysterious Ways
I have always held that the Creator has a marked sense of humor.
Author's reply
He must, how else would giraffes and anteaters exist!

I, too, have seen such an argument at that moment.

· Chapter 11: Happy Birthday
Oh, beautifully done. I love the little details that somehow make the scene come into focus in my mind as I'm reading.
I am suddenly reminded of all the birthday suppers Frodo had, one every year after Bilbo went away, where he toasted Bilbo's health even though it was one of the things that made him an oddity in the eyes of (most) other Shirefolk. It is easy to imagine him saying to Bilbo, "...this is something I've wanted to say to you for a long time..."

I've often thought that it was a rather cruel of Bilbo to raise Frodo as essentially his son and then abandon him as so as he turns the Hobbit equivalent of 18. Especially since Frodo had no other close family members and Merry and Pippin were young kids at the time.

· Chapter 12: Hope in the Hills
I remember reading this on SWG. I liked it then, I like it so much now.
Any chance for the new story about the new visit?

I want to use the reborn Orcs as a subplot in a longer work but I write so slowly I have no ide when that will be.

Excellent responses to the prompts! I'm always curious as to what would have happened if Finduilas had lived.
Hopefully Steward Boromir would still die valiantly so he wouldn't execute Faramir for treason...

Poor Maedhros; to have fallen so far that falling into fire was the only remedy he could envision. Well written.

Interesting! I also think that Finduilas would have moved heaven and earth to keep Denethor from sacrificing Faramir, had she still lived. Whether Faramir would have obeyed her rather than his father/liege-lord is another matter. And the idea of Denethor dying young and Boromir becoming Steward at a young age, coupled with Faramir's disobeying him to follow a dream to Rivendell, is fascinating.

A lovely interpretation of some of the last moments of Faramir and Boromir's relationship.
