wow! could not have been more off base. glad anne is safe. think i will just sit back and enjoy some tea and leave speculation to others for a while.

Larner · 24 February 2017 · Chapter 54: Council of War

Hmm. Ainur intrigue! Most interesting situation here. So that's how they knew that Anne was not in the hands of any kidnappers, for they were only seeking to bring her to safety before she COULD be used as a hostage!

Hello, I am desperately looking for help. Are the administrators still active for this website? :( I have been trying to become an author here for well over a week now and have received no responses to emails. Can anyone help me?

sharonb · 23 February 2017 · Chapter 54: Council of War

Sneaky Ainur that Atar has sent to us. But thankfully Anne is safe and now where Atar wants her. I guess all we humans are quite stubborn in his viewpoint at times. So is Raguel insinuating they are putting a sub in for the guy Alex wants out of prison with that last line? Sneak Ainur!

Arwen75 · 23 February 2017 · Chapter 54: Council of War

Well that is interesting - wonder who will figure out what happened - I wouldn't put it past being Alex himself..... now to hope they can all persuade Anne to stay in Wiseman. I am really enjoying this story as I have all of Fiondil's.

Sarah · 23 February 2017 · Chapter 54: Council of War

Nice save all! I needed this as I've had some potentially life-changing news come my way in the past few days. Thank you as always. Regarding a certain individual, did you know there's a remove review feature? ;)

6336 · 23 February 2017 · Chapter 54: Council of War

I some how got the feeling, as soon as Raguel showed up with Anne that this was a sneaky way of getting Anne to safety. Want to bet that the Valar are behind the letter and behind the photos that started all this? Sneaky, very sneaky. Lynda

Soledad · 23 February 2017 · Chapter 54: Council of War

Well, that was a relief and no mistake as Sam Gamgee would say. Those Valar are too devious for their own good, though - if Alex ever realizes what happened, he'd be seething with anger. Thank you again for doing this for us.

Jenniem · 23 February 2017 · Chapter 54: Council of War

Thank you, the three of you for posting this. I feel obliged to say that I simply do not want to be as ill-mannered as Aradenhel, but I was getting worried about whether you on the team were ill, or had problems of another sort. I honestly feel that whilst Literary criticism is permissible, personal criticism is not. Thank you. I suppose that we ought to have foreseen that Namo had a lot to do with this. This did make me feel that Namo, a Valar whom I shall be meeting fairly soon, given my age and state of health, has some very deeply hidden plans for Alex, and for the rest of the elves who are on Earth. Mind you, I also feel that he simply doesn't want to have Glorfindel back cluttering up Mandos. Thanks for this roller-coaster, I almost forgot to breathe.

Thank you for your concern and support. I know that Ellie has been bombarded with family and health issues and her husband has been in hospital getting surgery. So she has had a lot on her mind. Her Hubby came through the surgery fine thank goodness. I have health issues and haven't been too well, but I am in remission which is great. It's just that there are lots of side effects from chemo and the transplant that carry on for years. I have GVHD of the gut and skin, and the skin erupted very badly over January and most of February. Sadly GVHD can be a killer in it's own right. It happens when you are not a 100% match with your donor. Your new immune system sees the rest of your body as the enemy and since the skin is your largest organ, it usually affects that first. Your skin starts to fall off and you get raw ulcerated patches and because your immune system is still very young you can get infections which will eventually kill you if you don't get treatment. It's been a bit of a rough ride since Christimas personally and also we had the issue over the missing chapter which thankfully Ellie found and sent to me. We don thank you all for your patience and forbearance! And for your reviews of course! Arthur would be so proud

What took you 3 so long to post??????

Author's reply

Pleasant as ever I see. Well, let me see now. Ellie has some serious home and family health issues, I have leukaemia and a crumbling spine, plus a much loved sister who is going through treatment for Pancreatic cancer, Mari hasn't been really that involved with the posting of the chapters but she has problems of her own. We each take minutes out of our daily life to post these final chapters of a much loved SoA writer and we are happy to do that. However, sometimes, real life issues take precedent. In essence, I post the chapters when I am able. We all have things in our lives which are, shock, horror, more important than fanfiction. Perhaps you have a calm life with no issues, health or otherwise, then you are very lucky. Has anyone ever told you that your attitude stinks and that you are rude beyond beleief? No? Consider yourself told. Either make a proper review or read the chapter quietly. You are not entitled to complain since this is a labour of love for me and the one way I feel I can honour a dear, very talented friend.

obsidianj · 19 February 2017 · Chapter 53: Spies-R-Us

What? This suddenly turned a corner I was not expecting. Otoh, the story was going along smoothly for some time with no big hick-up for our friends. I can't really think of who would send this letter. This sounds like some intervention from Maia like persons unless Alex's information is vastly out of date or he was misled in the first place.

obsidianj · 19 February 2017 · Chapter 52: Interlude in Valinor

So, the sinister plot of Turgon and Maedhros is building a Skateboard... That will ruffle some feathers. These things are fast... I can see stately elves getting annoyed when the 2 whizz passed...

obsidianj · 19 February 2017 · Chapter 51: The Brothers’ Tale Ends

Fascinating end of the brother's story. But what is even better is the analysis Finrod and co. do about the implications. And Alex planning a jail break to get someone to help retrieve the knife? This sounds like a hair-brained scheme. As always Ron's files at the end are hilarious and very enlightening.

Walker-Skye · 16 February 2017 · Chapter 53: Spies-R-Us

Good, interesting build up of the story so far, then this twist at the end of this chapter threw a new dimension into the whole thing! I can't wait to see where this goes!

elrondion · 14 February 2017 · Chapter 53: Spies-R-Us

please excuse my late night misspellings of glorfindel and maddy. that said, there are a few other townie/agency connections i would like to make. first, someone or ones are providing those opposed to the elves with c4 and training in its use. second, there is at least one agent unaccounted for connected with farrell and his kidnapping mess. we really know nothing about their motives for participating in the gig. yes, we know that some were not given full information, which is typical, but we do not know this is true for all. third, we know that once out of training, farrell worked almost exclusively in europe. junior was assigned at least some gigs in europe and had enough connections to get the three dudes in granada to go after alex. fourth, farrell is a mighty grudge holder. it is possible that he and junior had become close while working together. it was mentioned that junior was talking and sharing indiscriminately so he could have trained farrell's team to the code. their loyalty to farrell and also orders from the director would easily activate the current scenerio. unless they are umair, i do not see mair or elves involved in this nastyness. elves are too hierarchical. umair would have been spotted by the mair contingent. just too many mortals attracted to evil not to be their gig. be interesting to see how this plays out and who is hiding in plain sight.

Celeth · 14 February 2017 · Chapter 53: Spies-R-Us

Oh no! Not his beloved mother! This person has to be someone who knows Artemius Gordon Merriwether very well, or who got a lot of information from someone very close to him. Probably that source was Paul Jackson. And he is definitely an agent of the Enemy, to order such a thing. The implications of the termination order are too many, and its not just Glorfindel of the House of the Golden Flower that they want dead. They want Alex even more, because killing Loren, in their minds, would bring the ire of the Elves on Alex’s head, and anyone who knows this much about Alex and Glorfindel would know that the Elves are deadly warriors with superhuman skills. They probably know that Alex is too well-trained for them, and that the Elves have his back. But if he kills the nominal leader of those same Elves…that’s killing more than two birds with one stone…and they don’t even have to lift a finger. They just get to watch from the sidelines, with a helpless woman at their mercy. The Enemy camp must be rubbing their hands with glee!  Hmm…Is Farrell back in action? Or is it some new agent again? Or did the Enemy decide to bring a Maia onto the board, seeing as how Atar sent in Raguel from the Timeless Halls? Just my thoughts. I had to make my own guesses, because, like Alex, my blood went cold at those last two paragraphs especially the last one. For a few minutes there I couldn’t move. And now I have seven days to guess and guess hahaha! I am so enjoying this...I like spy stuff, but please, please tell me this tale will not be left incomplete...

Bootsgrandma · 14 February 2017 · Chapter 53: Spies-R-Us

This story is fast becoming way too complicated and dark for my taste. I do not like all this "spy stuff"...and I really am disturbed by the constant picking on Glorfindel. I am also afraid that I will get into the middle of this story and it be left incomplete. It is after all "The Unfinished Tales". I need some reassurance that this tale will be completed before I invest any more time to it and expose my fae to more of this "spy-darkness".

Larner · 14 February 2017 · Chapter 53: Spies-R-Us

Ooh--nasty! Apparently someone on the dark side has had access to Paul's memories! Find a dark Maia, perhaps?

elrondion · 13 February 2017 · Chapter 53: Spies-R-Us

many questions and perhaps a few answers. anyone in wiseman has access to the name glorfinded of the house of the golden flower. this was identified as early as the grange hall meeting after zach's rescue in part 1. not all in wiseman are supporters of the elves. someone chose to send photos to the agency. that person was knowledgeable enough of the agency to be sure to include amroth's picture and be sure it got to matty. this person would have enough inside knowledge to identify what is going on at this point. remember, no one, including alex, is making a serious effort to hide. would place this as a dormant agent of some kind, who is high enough up to have contact with the new head, long enough within the agency to have had a relationship with junior. not one of the previously unidentified agents. may live as far away as fairbanks but then would have to be regularly in the wiseman area. remember that mair cannot interfere with free will. maybe how they get to his mother.

sharonb · 13 February 2017 · Chapter 53: Spies-R-Us

Man, what a cliffie this time. I'd be with Kalyee except that it could be Farrell or one of his dark side controllers. Hmm could they have gotten that info out of his mind or knowing who they would be communicating with dropped the pretense and were straight forward with Alex. Remember Zach sang like a bird, literally, during the interrogation. But I thought that Anne was promised safety by the Valar and Maiar. Well, the cliffe will have to wait for the next post. I liked the call to Greg as the solution, cute.

Kaylee Arafinwiel · 13 February 2017 · Chapter 53: Spies-R-Us

What...the... But... Okay. I'm breathing. I'm just sitting here at the table in the Cliff House, staring at the words on this page and thinking to myself...how in the names of *all* the Valar and Eru too... "When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." Item: This code was, so far as we and Alex know, known ONLY to him and to Paul Jackson/Junior. Item: This letter was delivered to Alex long after PaulJackson/Junior's death. Suggestion (in-story) Paul/Junior betrayed Alex further and confided the code, and his sigil, to someone else. What do we, the readers, know about Paul Jackson/Junior? What does Alex know? (At least, what has Alex told "us"?) They were friends. Good friends. The best, as far as Alex ever had within the Agency. But he betrayed Alex (or rather, Artemus). How? I'm blanking. Was Farrell involved? Could Junior have given the code to Farrell, or one of Farrell's confederates? Are we sure Farrell, or for that matter, Paul Jackson, is/was even human? And how about that name? "Glorfindel of the House of the Golden Flower". Only an Elf or Maia would call him that... Just who are we tangling with here? I can't seem to formulate a cohesive picture. Thoughts, fellow Fiondilie? A rather shocked Kaylee

6336 · 13 February 2017 · Chapter 53: Spies-R-Us

This is getting freaky, way out in left field. I really would like to know who these people are, putting a face on them will be a big help. Lynda

Carnifindil Telumehtar. · 13 February 2017 · Chapter 53: Spies-R-Us

Wow, that escalated quickly. I wonder who sent that letter. An elf? An úmaia even? How else would they know Glorfindel's real name? This story just keeps getting better and better! I'm already looking forward to the next chapter :)

(Sorry for the repost; my autocorrect mucked up Aranadhel's name) Dear Aranadhel, I know it's not me you addressed this question to, so I'm sorry for poking my nose in where it's not wanted. Have you been reading Ellie/Shemyaza/Mari's updates in the Summary? Real Life intervened, a bit of chapter went missing and was recovered. There was a pause while the chapter was recovered and rewritten into sensible form. The Beta Amigas, as I call them, did not update those weeks because there was too much going on. But when they updated and corrected it, it was where the previous chapter left off. We have the entire story up until the current chapter. It was the same when Fiondil, my beloved father of the heart was with us. Sometimes he would miss submitting a chapter "on time" because RL intervened. But, until his untimely passing, he always posted the chapter following the one he'd last posted. There are no "missing chapters" hiding in the wings. With all due respect, I ask that you please read the story summary to see what's been noted in the Beta Amigas' daily lives before asking them why they haven't done this or that. I'm getting a bit tired of reading questions that could have been answered if you'd actually read the summary and the chapters in full. It would save Ellie, Mari and Shemyaza a lot of annoyance. Thank you, Kaylee Arafinwiel (yelde indonyo to Fiondil)
