Baggins Babe · 24 April 2005 · Chapter 1: Sun Star

I decided to review this story - when you first wrote it it was as a sort of birthday present for me, and I loved it. Poor Frodo is going through such a difficult time as he battles the darkness, but I love the fact that little Elanor can draw him back when no-one else can. You really do write beautifully, my dear.

Oh, this story really made me cry. I hate partings.. Very nice, among the best fanfics I've ever read! Keep up the wonderful work /Alandria

Alandria! I'm so glad you liked it! It is always nice to know when somebody has enjoyed your work! It was my first attempt at a long story and I really enjoyed the process, although writing parts of it also made me cry too! :-) Mirkwoodmaiden/ Celeste

You have done a wonderful job with this story. The last few chapters are so full of love and compassion. I find post-quest Frodo/Sam stories very emotional especially when they are as beautifully written as this Thank you Helen/shireling

daw the minstrel · 18 September 2003 · Chapter 8: Truths are spoken

Oh thank goodness. I knew that wise Elrond would not be able to hold out forever. The scene with Aragorn was very touching as Aragorn does not hesitate to curb his own pride to try to do what is right for his wife (and coincidentally for Elrond and Aragorn himself too).

Cheers Daw! About Chapter 5, I had a lot of fun thinking up difficult archery shoots for the Archery competition. And having competed in archery competitions myself it was easy to write the dialog! Archery and banter go hand in hand! About Chapter 7, I really glad you liked it. It was a difficult chapter to have come together but the Elrond and Aragorn portion just flowed. I wanted to show that Aragorn was so distraught he would have done anything to save Arwen, with no thought for himself. And I had taken Elrond to such a pass that I thought the only thing that could possibly have swayed him was to show the pain and despair of Aragorn, whom he also loved deeply. It was the only chance to melt Elrond's heart. Thanks again, MM

daw the minstrel · 18 September 2003 · Chapter 6: Of Cures and Competition

Cool contest. I love elves in that graceful arrogant state of competition. SSP I am the daw who has posted at HASA. I have two and a half stories here that I've never submitted there. :-)

daw the minstrel · 17 September 2003 · Chapter 3: Emotions Arise

This was a long, complicated chapter, with lots of very realistic interaction between some troubled people. Poor Elrond. He mourns the loss of his daughter, so he pushes her away. And I can see how he felt conspired against when his sons and his in-laws shut themselves away to talk about him! Faramir gave really good advice and it looks as if Aragorn is going to try to take it. If he goes to see Elrond, some tense words are likely to be spoken! I like boyish Celeborn.

Daw! Thanks again for the thoughtful review. I tried to make the interaction and emotional reactions as real as possible! I do feel sorry for Elrond. He has given so much in the service of Middle Earth only to have what he most treasures taken away and taken away by someone he loves as his own child. It is most bittersweet for him. With Faramir I tried to stay true to his character, giving, caring, intelligent, but also wary of censure having endured his father's scorn for so long. Also sometimes those who have experienced much pain can relate more easily to another's pain. I had great fun with Celeborn. I think he quite often gets depicted in fanfic as a wet blanket or humourless and I wanted to show a different side to him. I mean Galadriel certainly sees something in him and I wanted show a little of their relationship. I'll stop rambling now! :-) Glad you thought it was good! MM

daw the minstrel · 16 September 2003 · Chapter 2: Together again

This is shaping up to be interesting. I'm wondering about Arwen's pregnancy and whether it really will run the full Elf year. And Frodo is obviously in distress. I look forward to seeing where you take this.

I just finished this story about a month ago, I'm so glad you like it so far! In answer to your question, I did have to pay close attention to the time spent in the story and by my rough calculations Arwen will carry little Eldarion about 11 1/2 months. I didn't realise that Elves carry their children a full year until I was half way through the story and had to rejig some of the time spent, I think it works out! Thanks for the review!
