Semmley · 12 September 2014 · Chapter 9: Estel is finally arriving

The storms of the past have ceased and out of sorrow, sure hope for the future has arrived with young Estel. It's been a great read Lai, and I look forward to your next story.

Author's reply

yes, the worst is over for now, but the peace will not hold for long as we all know. I´m so glad you liked my story, Semmley. Be sure that my next story is already almost done. Thanks for reviewing. Lai

Larner · 9 September 2014 · Chapter 9: Estel is finally arriving

Good to have hope and Hope residing within the valley of Imladris once more. Thanks for this story, Lai.

Author's reply

yes hope and Hope have come to the valley and partly healed our favourite family. I´m glad you liked my story and left a review. I really appreciate it. Thanks, Lai

galathil · 7 September 2014 · Chapter 9: Estel is finally arriving

Hi Laikwalasse, I am glad that hope has finally arrived. I have enjoyed your story very much. It was a very emotional coaster and thoroughly enjoyable ride. Can't wait for your next story. LOL Galathil

Author's reply

Hi galathil. I´m glad I could write about a much used theme in a still thrilling way for you. Thank you for leaving a review and letting me know. The next story is already on the way. Hope to see you there. Lai

Fiondil · 6 September 2014 · Chapter 9: Estel is finally arriving

Imamc, with regards to your statement about Gilraen dying when Aragorn was very young: this is fanon, not canon. For some reason I have never understood, several writers, apparently hating Gilraen, killed her off shortly after she and Aragorn arrived in Imladris when in truth, according to Appendix B, Gilraen dies in the year 3007 at the age of 100. As Appendix B also states that Aragorn was born in the year 2931, that means he was 76 years old when his mother died. I suppose one could say that he was still young by Dúnedain standards since we know he lived to be 210, but it's a bit of a stretch. Sorry to usurp your review page, Lai, but I wanted to set the record straight about Gilraen. She deserved better than to be killed off by writers for no particular reason other than convenience. Please pass this on to imamc if you would and feel free to delete.

Author's reply

Fiondil, no need to apologize. I´m glad you posted this review. I have paased on your comment. This was very interesting and I do also not understand why many writer hate Gilraen that much and kill her off or do not even mention her. She´s a very interesting character and worth to be told. Thanks for the hint. Lai

lmamc · 6 September 2014 · Chapter 9: Estel is finally arriving

That was a really great story. I really enjoyed reading this and I'm happy that everything turned out okay, although I don't think Estel's mother was any help. On the other hand she does die when Aragorn is really young, great story.

Author's reply

thank you so much, Imamc. I´m so glad you liked it, even if the theme is used so often. One small comment however: According to Appendix B, Gilraen dies in the year 3007 at the age of 100. As Appendix B also states that Aragorn was born in the year 2931, that means he was 76 years old when his mother died. Not so really young I would say. Anyway thank you for your review. I really appreciat it. Lai

Fiondil · 6 September 2014 · Chapter 9: Estel is finally arriving

So all's well that end's well. Very good. Thanks for a good read. One little quibble: Aragorn was 2 years old when his father died, according to canon, and at the age of one he wouldn't have been able to talk anyway. Children don't usually begin talking until they're at least 18 months old. Also, at age 2, he's more likely to say "Me Estel". The use of "I" and especially the use of the contraction "I'm" come much later.

Author's reply

you are welcome, Fiondil. I´m glad you liked my story. Thank you so much for the interesting note. I was not aware of that and will correct it in the story. Again thanks for a most appreciated review. Lai

Semmley · 12 August 2014 · Chapter 8: confrontations and consolidations

That taser strike by the Valar seems to have had positive results however, as the saying goes .. there is many a slip twixt the cup and the lip!!! Looking forward to your next post Lai..

Author's reply

yes, finally. It was high time for our peredhil to come to their senses and they will need their strenght as the next chapter will show. LOL! Thanks for your review. Lai

Larner · 7 August 2014 · Chapter 8: confrontations and consolidations

About time! Namo at least had a means of turning them away from their own self-involved grief to one another. And there is a chance now for all three of them to heal.

Author's reply

we all know that they will manage now and what HOPE the Valar will give them - the last chapter will cover that ground. Thanks for reviewing, Larner. Lai

Fiondil · 7 August 2014 · Chapter 8: confrontations and consolidations

Well at least they were able to get it all out and become reconciled. That's a good thing. Now to see how long the reconciliation lasts. *wink*

Author's reply

yes, thanks to the Valar all seems well again -or? *wink back*

lmamc · 5 August 2014 · Chapter 8: confrontations and consolidations

I'm so happy he woke back up and that they are going back on good terms again. Update the next one soon.

Author's reply

let´s see what the Valar have further in store for them. Even if we all know what will follow I hope yo enjoy nonetheless. Thank you so much for reviewing, Imamc. Lai

Semmley · 16 July 2014 · Chapter 7: discussions and decisions

That the Valar should intervene! We are reminded just how important it is to the future of Arda that Elrond survive. Each of the family is locked into his own hurt, so perhaps the shock of seeing how their attitudes affect the future of Imladris is the wake-up call they need to reconcile. Looking forward to your next post Lai.

Author's reply

it was high time for the Valar to intervene indeed! All three peredhil have to be brought out of their destructive course. The next post is almost done. Thank you so much for a most appreciated review, Semmley. Lai

Larner · 10 July 2014 · Chapter 7: discussions and decisions

Now, this is indeed an indication that it is time for new beginnings, and for all three of them! To meet in such a situation will demand that they rebuild their relationships with one another in order to see the Last Homely House reconstituted.

Author's reply

yes, no distraction for our three peredhils. And it is high time for a new beginning and understanding. The forced meeting will bring a decision. Thanks for your review, Larner. It´s really appreciated. Lai

demeter d · 9 July 2014 · Chapter 7: discussions and decisions

As I quessed, one of Fiondil's favorite Valar to the rescue. He has taken the three of them to someplace where they will not be disturbed, but where are they really? Or, as Madeline L'Engle had a character say in a book of hers, where the characters travel through both time and distance, are they in "their own WHERE, but a different WHEN?" This might be in a re-creation of Imladris, somewhere in Lorien or the halls of Mandos. Or, it might be the vale of Imladris before Elrond led his band of refugees there and built what became a refuge for all who fought the dark. Or, the most interesting possibility of all, It might be an image of what might become of the valley of refuge if the three Peredhel abandon their watch. The rest of its people might then sail, or join the other realms, Lothlorien, perhaps. Several generations to come of Northern Dunadain would find themselves even more truly alone. Several generations of Isidur's heirs would be without a refuge. And, most notably, the future for fourteen dwarves, five Hobbits, a troubled man of Gondor, and a grieving Chieftain's widow and her tiny fatherless son would be very different. I will be waiting anxiously!

Author's reply

you are right. Namo has choosen a place where the three of them will not be disturbed to sort out their feelings - no elves, no vibrating Imladris, no friends - nothing. Its an Imladris of the past, untouched and wild before Elrond led any refugees there. The outcome of the talk will decide how the vale will look like. Thank you so much for reviewing, demeter d. I really appreciate it. Thanks Lai

demeter d · 9 July 2014 · Chapter 6: a troubled homecoming

Wow! Always darkest before the dawn...goes an old proverb. Elladan has finally opened himself to those he loves, but it seems to be "too little and too late." As Larner has said, all four in this chapter are in bad shape. Perhaps now, though, all will be willing to listen to your mysterious outside help.

Author's reply

can it get any darker? Elladan has waited too long and must now face the consequences. Outside help is more than nedded now. Thank you so much for reviewing, demeter d. Lai

lmamc · 8 July 2014 · Chapter 7: discussions and decisions

FINALLY, you're back and with a new chapter! It's getting very interesting now, seems to me that Lord Namo is going to force a family intervention. Update soon.

Author's reply

yes, Namo has no other option left and with a Valar involved it could get interesting. Update is one the way. Thank you for a most appreciated review. Lai

Fiondil · 8 July 2014 · Chapter 7: discussions and decisions

Whoa, Lai! Námo to the rescue! This chapter is so cool. Can't wait to see what our favorite Vala gets up to with Elrond and his sons. Loved the interplay between Námo and Vairë. Thanks, Fiondil.

Author's reply

thank YOU for your lovely review, Fiondil. I´m so glad that you as a Valar expert like my interplay with Namo. Now let him bring our family back to the line. Lai

Fiondil · 22 June 2014 · Chapter 6: a troubled homecoming

Both brothers are in pain though for different reasons and from different sources. Both are fleeing but in different directions. And their father lies dying, willfully severing all contact with the outside world. He too is fleeing. This family definitely needs help of a divine nature to heal them and bring them back together. It is a bloody mess for sure.

Author's reply

a bloody mess -uh! But you are right of course. This family needs help from the outside. They can no longer find healing on their own. I have to add some "divine" characters into the mess I fear. LOL! As always thank you so much for a most appreciated review, Fiondil. Lai

Larner · 21 June 2014 · Chapter 6: a troubled homecoming

It is hard to say who is in the deepest crisis here. Poor brothers, poor father, poor guardian/advisor. All are in great pain right now.

Author's reply

you are right. The whole family is standing on the edge. But who can help them now? Thank you for reviewing, Larner. Lai

Ellie · 20 June 2014 · Chapter 6: a troubled homecoming

It seemed they finally were going to bring healing and help but then they ran away again. How very sad indeed.

Author's reply

the twins have no strenght left to bring healing, I fear. Help has now to come from the outside. Thank you so much for reviewing, Ellie. Lai

lmamc · 20 June 2014 · Chapter 6: a troubled homecoming

Wow, this was great. Now I am worried that Elladan will give up the ghost next. You should really go and check on your brother Elrohir. update the next one soon.

Author's reply

it looks not good for our favourite brothers indeed. Someone must now intervene before all is lost. THank you so much for a most appreciated review, Imamc. Lai

galathil · 11 June 2014 · Chapter 5: insight

Hi Lai, loving your story. When can we have the next chapter please. I really need to know what happens to Elrohir and Elldan. Also cant wait for Estel to come, to this heart broken family. I hope you can update soon. LOL Galathil

Author's reply

I´m so glad you are LOVING my story. Sadly my update only depends on my beta but she has promised me a new chapter today, so I hope to post very soon; please hang on and you will see Estel come and heal our plagued family. LOL. Lsi

Semmley · 27 May 2014 · Chapter 5: insight

It's good to see Elrohir bringing his brother into line for a change. Elladan has a great many fences to mend. If the brothers cannot re-kindle their bond, how will they be able to save their father? Will it be a case of too little, too late? Will Glorfindel be able to hold the fort, as it were? Is this what is called a 'cliffie'? It's a good one. It is a pleasure to read your story Lai and, as ever, I look forward to your next update.

Author's reply

its high time for someone to act but without consoling themselves the brothers will not be able to rescue their father. Even mighty Glorfindel is kind of powerless this time, I fear. I´m glad the cliffie worked and yes it was one and an intended one. *Evil grin*. A pleasure to read my stories? What a lovely compliment. Thank you for saying and reviewing. Lai

tiinaj1 · 25 May 2014 · Chapter 5: insight

Please please please tell me this story will be continued & completed? Its wonderful - emotional, well written and different then other LOTR stories ive read....

Author's reply

DON´T WORRY. The story is long written and finished. It only depends on my beta how quick I can update. Thank you so much for the praise that my story is different. That was my intention. We´ve read a lot of the events around Celebrían´s abduction but never on such an emotional level. I´m so glad it worked for you. The next chapter will be up soon, I promise. Again thank you for a most appreciated review, tiinaj1. Lai

Eliza · 24 May 2014 · Chapter 5: insight

Now that was interesting and unexpected. Everyone has their breaking point and it seems Elrohir has reached his. Good for him. This seems to be the proverbial "kick in the pants". Elladan needed. Very nice to see Elrohir step out of his comfort zone. Well done Mellon nin

Author's reply

Elrohir has crossed his line of endurance and a few words of apology will surely do nothing to mend this rift. Elladan will have to come to his senses otherwise he will lose father and brother. I´m glad you liked how Elrohir reacted. He has to leave the submissive brother behind. Thank you so much for your review. Lai

Larner · 24 May 2014 · Chapter 5: insight

It is at last time to awaken and to do what he can to mend the fences before the rifts and losses become permanent.

Author's reply

its hight time to hurry home and pick up the pieces if there is anything left to mend that is. THanks for your review, Larner. Lai
