of course i love the story! BUT should someone point out that most states have laws about drinking on election day?

Larner · 29 January 2015 · Chapter 113: Election Day

Well, that's telling them--"We were citizens when your grandparents' grandparents weren't even born yet! Nyah!" And love how Turgon and Glorfindel are beginning to make peace. Loved Turgon's apology.

I'm incredibly sad to learn that Fiondil has passed away. Although hobbits weren't his main focus, he very kindly reviewed many of my stories, and was always very generous with his knowledge. He loved the Professor's rich and infinitely inspiring world and characters, and was beloved by fans and friends all over the world. May the Eagles bear him swiftly to that far green country which he helped many of us envision more clearly. He will be greatly missed.

Ai! Fiondil you will be much missed. I now regret not being a more faithful reviewer. Your work and insights have affected my life most profoundly. God's blessing and rest be with you. From the Catholic funeral service- it seems appropriate.... Saints of God, come to his aid! Hasten to meet him, angels of the Lord! R. Receive his soul and present him to God the Most High. May Christ, who called you, take you to himself; may angels lead you to the bosom of Abraham. R. Receive his soul and present him to God the Most High. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. R. Receive his soul and present him to God the Most High. Many thanks to those who are seeking to honour him by making the remainder of his work available to us.

Be at peace Fiondil. You made many people happy with your vision of the Professor's work. And now, perhaps you will find him and the two of you will have discussions about his work. That would be such joy for you. You will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear the news. Thank you for telling us. I was worried too, when the new chapter did not come up. I'm praying for you all. :( Thank you again for the news. Sweetpea

I am sorry to hear that we have lost a writer who pulled us into the world of Tolkien and made us think of how mortals must appear to other beings. I had worried about the interruption in the story on Monday but thought it was just the snow storm knocking out the internet. I have not seen until any other news until I logged on here this afternoon to SoA. My prayers go to the family in their time of sorrow and to friends that are reeling from the news. May the songs of the elves forever sing in his soul.

rikki · 29 January 2015 · Chapter 113: Election Day

Ah, election day is here and we will finally get to see who are the new government officials. It must have seen like a very strange event for the high kings and the other elves from Valanor. Maybe Ingwe will get to watch the elections returns on tv, lol! I liked how you had Turgon and Glorfindel talk. Yes, it is not the core of their problems but it was in a neutral zone and both could speak without any worrying about what the other one was thinking. I hope that Turgon will realize that Glorfindel is where he needs to be and feel he has made peace with the ellon so when he goes back to Valanor he can move on.

Heartbreaking news! A kind and generous person who will be greatly missed.

Sunny · 29 January 2015 · Chapter 114: Waiting for Results

This was truly sad news! I love Fiondil's fics, they are well written by a person who obviously loved Tolkien. He will be missed!

Erulisse · 29 January 2015 · Chapter 114: Waiting for Results

Fiondil, my dear, dear friend. You will be most sorely missed. You were a staunch friend, a wise counselor, a prudent scholar, and had a wonderful sense of humor alongside a deep, abiding respect for the works of Tolkien. I followed your works for many years, we corresponded and exchanged queries now and again, and I find myself fighting back the tears, even though I know your legacy is firm in my heart. I already miss your wise counsel. - Erulisse (one L)

I have not yet worked up the courage to actually read the posted chapters, as I am at present sitting at work trying to digest this terrible news & not burst into tears. while I suppose I cam rather late to Fiondil's work compared to some of you who have been in communication with one another for years, I will miss his stories no less & am all the more grateful to have found them. Thank you, kind Sir, for your wonderful work and your reponses to my reviews. Would that I could have known you better. Hugs to all

I feared exactly something like this had happened when all remained silent, although, I too, was hoping for a power loss at first. I find myself crying over the loss of someone of whom I only know the nickname, crying more than I've been doing for people I've actually known. Fiondil, thank you for all your stories that had to love of so many people. Thank you for always replying to our comments, it was greatly appreciated from our sides as well. Thank you for your wonderful expansion to Tolkien's world you so eagerly and frequently shared with us, your lovely divine undertone in their works and lately for letting the concept of modern world Elves into our hearts. I hope meeting lord Námo and eventually Atar for real was a calm and blessfull experience for you. Ellie and Alassiel, thanks for updating on us, Nilmandra thanks for posting. I hope you wil be able to share as much of what is left of Fiondil's legacy with us as possible. Last of all, I wanted to give everyone here a big hug!

My commiserations. Now I wished I had written a review for him to know that he has a big fan of his work from Malaysia. Too late now. May your soul rest in peace, mellon nin. Hannon le for all your wonderful stories over the years and I am sure Tolkien would have approved tremendously of your continued effort to bring to life his world of Middle Earth. Once again a big heartfelt thank you from Malaysia. May your soul rest in peace, Fiondil. God bless.Amen

Eternal Rest grant unto him, Oh Lord, and Let Perpetual Light shine upon him. Fiondil was a dear friend and a beloved member of my family of the heart since I "met" him online in 2007. Besides reading his stories here on SoA, I would Skype with him and join him, my sister and other readers and writers to discuss Tolkien once a week via a Skype conference call while he was living in China. I finally got to meet him in person during a Mini-Moot at he Columbus Zoo a couple of years later. I will miss him dearly. Since I didn't know how to contact his family and wasn't sure how he felt about flowers I made a donation to the American Cancer Society in his memory. I am now going ot go back and read the last two chapters again since it was hard to read through my tears. Thank you, Ellie and Alassiel, for sharing the rest of the story. Edlyn

I am truly grieved to hear of Fiondil's passing; I'd hoped that the lack of update was just because of a power loss due to the storm or something like that... It's funny how you can become attached to someone you've never met, but after reading his clockwork-like postings of wonderful stories over the past 6 years, well, it hurts. I found that his insights into Divine and human nature often prompted me to consider things in a different way; some insights were truly life changing for me. To all those who are working to continue posting his work, thank you so much, and my very sincere condolences for your deep loss.

Kevana · 29 January 2015 · Chapter 114: Waiting for Results

I had a horrible feeling that he had passed when he didn't update or respond to email. God bless and keep him. I can't even begin to say how much I've come to respect and care for him in the last few years. I wish I could send condolences to his family. If there's anything I can do to help in any way, please let me know. My email is indragonbloodink (at) gmail (dot) com. Thank you, Ellie and Alassiel, for letting us know and for trying to get his last work published. All my love to you both, and everyone else too, and my thanks to Nilmandra as well.

UTfrog · 29 January 2015 · Chapter 114: Waiting for Results

Bless you for your willingness to continue Fiondil's work. As so many have already said, I had a horrible feeling when there was no posting and no words early this week. Thank you. If you learn anything about family, please let us know. I am most willing to contribute to a memorial.

Soledad · 29 January 2015 · Chapter 114: Waiting for Results

Like Ora, I've read the sad news after reviewing. It's hard to believe. This fandom will definitely be a lot poorer without him. :(

Dreamflower · 29 January 2015 · Chapter 114: Waiting for Results

I'd like to express my thanks to Ellie and Alassiel for giving us the sad news, and for making the rest of Fiondil's beloved story available. And thanks also to Nilmandra and daw for facilitating it. Making his last work available is a great tribute to him. I hope that he knows somehow that people will still be enjoying his work for a long time to come. It's not a bad legacy to leave.

Ora · 29 January 2015 · Chapter 114: Waiting for Results

Heu, in light of the news, I retire the happy notes of my last review and present my condolences to the family and friends of Fiondil. I hope I have not offended anyone, Sincerely, Ora

Ora · 29 January 2015 · Chapter 114: Waiting for Results

Yeah! You are back! I think I have become addicted to your story, because I was checking the site every day to see if you had updated :) Anyway, I was so happy to see Liam more or less back in the story. This cliffie is killing me but I'll try not to jump at the walls till the next update, it would be a shame to mis it because I broke something. I can't wait, Ora

Ellie · 29 January 2015 · Chapter 112: Confrontations

This is Ellie, one of Fiondil's betas. Alassiel, his other beta, and I started trying to track down Fiondil after he failed to post Monday morning. We learned from his local sheriff Wednesday afternoon that Fiondil was found dead in his home Wednesday morning. As of yet, the authorities do not know for the sure the time of death, but they think it was Sunday night or Monday morning. He died peacefully in his sleep of natural causes. I am guessing that Nilmandra has gotten into his account and has begun posting his remaining chapters of EA3 that he had uploaded here. Alassiel and I, between us, appear to have the first 61 and a half chapters of EA 4. We are hoping that Fiondil's next of kin will send us the betaed files, but I do not know if his next of kin have even been found yet. In any case, once we find some peace from our grieving at our beloved Fiondil's passing, we may well try to see if we can get EA 4 out for you all to see. We know he dearly loved his readers and always delighted in your reviews. Hugs, Ellie and Alassiel

Soledad · 29 January 2015 · Chapter 114: Waiting for Results

It's good to have you back, even if you're still the Evil Cliffie King! Like the others, I was getting worried.

Sunny · 29 January 2015 · Chapter 112: Confrontations

I hope you and yours are OK, Fiondil! I'm worried about you! You're usually regular as clockwork about putting up new chapters, and with not a peep for several days now ... I'm worried! :-(
