But what brought tears of joy to his eyes was the sound of Elven voices raised in a Shire carol. Beautiful! I would have loved to hear and see that.

harrowcat · 9 January 2017 · Chapter 7: Behold!

Lovely Dreamflower. I especially liked how Frodo actually felt comfortable with being blindfolded and that his trip to Mordor had actually enhanced that feeling.

Larner · 7 January 2017 · Chapter 7: Behold!

Ah, I love the anticipation of pleasure Frodo feels here rather than anxiety as he allows himself to be blindfolded. And what a joyous reason! Delightful!

shirebound · 6 January 2017 · Chapter 7: Behold!

I just love this so much.

Antane · 6 January 2017 · Chapter 7: Behold!

What a beautiful gift for our dear hobbits! :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author's reply

Thank you, dear!

Antane · 11 December 2015 · Chapter 6: Looking East

Sweet story - I like to think Celebrian had a hand in Frodo's healing. Hantanyel for another look into that. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Larner · 9 December 2015 · Chapter 6: Looking East

And I rejoice he did not have to wait alone for that day of reunion, and that he had such friends as Celebrian to be by him.

Andrea · 6 December 2015 · Chapter 6: Looking East

Beautifully written and with an end full of hope. I liked it very much!

Larner · 24 June 2015 · Chapter 5: The Arrival

I, too, was certain that Celebrian would be there for both her husband and her mother, and that it would delight the Hobbits to see that reunion. And I'm not at all surprised that Goldberry would advise the denizens of the Lonely Island through her own lord of what kind of home the Hobbits would prefer. It's perfect for them! So delightful a chapter, and I rejoice that Elrond and Galadriel find their beloved one fully healed herself.

Author's reply

It seemed certain to me that between Earendil and Eagles, Celebrian would have been informed of her husband and mother coming. But who could have told her anything about hobbits? Goldberry just popped into my head from nowhere! But of course she and Tom had been neighbors to hobbits for generations! In my 'verse her friendship with Frodo is important to his healing, though I only give hints of it. But that means she must be fully healed herself.

meckinock · 22 June 2015 · Chapter 5: The Arrival

What a beautiful story for Nilmandra's birthday, Dreamflower. It made me smile to when Bilbo saw Celebrian and realized who she must be. A beautiful promise of a someday even more joyful reunion. I loved that the hobbits have their own beautiful home to enjoy. and Goldberry was the icing on the cake. A lovely story - thank you.

Author's reply

Thank you! I'm glad I made you smile. Thank you also for letting me know it was Nilmandra's birthday, so that I had a chance to be a part of this "birthday party"!

Antsne · 22 June 2015 · Chapter 5: The Arrival

I so love this! The First Homely House - too cute! I do like Frodo and Celebrisn sitting next to each other - I like to think she played a part in his healing as her wounds were similar. I never thought of a connection between Ulmo and Goldberry but I do like to think she is a Maia and it he connection mskes perfect sense. Love there the only repayment is that Frodo and Bilbo heal and be happy again - a gift just as much to themselves as to the Elves - and to us. *hugs all* Namarie, God bless, Antane. :)

Author's reply

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Originally I was going to have Eagles bring the news, but how would they know anything about hobbits. Then I thought of Ulmo, and that made me think of Goldberry. In my stories of the West, Frodo and Celebrian are good friends, and often walk together on the beach.

Nilmandra · 22 June 2015 · Chapter 5: The Arrival

Goldberry! That is a perfect source of information! I forget about her being a river daughter and of course she would have communication with Ulmo. I absolutely love it when little details like that from Tolkien are woven into stories. And of course I love the hobbits being made at home in Elvenhome. Thank you very much for this gift (and I adore the other one too!)

Author's reply

I toyed with it being the Eagles who brought the information, but really, they would have known very little. Goldberry (and her Tom) have been near neighbors (and good friends) with hobbits for a very long time! (And in my universe, have had a post-Quest visit from the four Travellers as well.) I just know that every effort would have been made to make their stay the best possible; and of course, Celebrian would have been informed that Bilbo had been one of Elrond's dear friends for years. She would have done anything possible to see that they would feel at home under his roof! I am SO glad you enjoyed the story! And I do hope you will enjoy your other present--I actually wanted to make it for you anyway, after your beautiful comment the other day, so your birthday was the perfect excuse to expedite the project!

daw the minstrel · 22 June 2015 · Chapter 5: The Arrival

What a wonderful welcome for Bilbo and Frodo. You know, after seeing the movies, I truly envied anyone living in a place like Bag End. I was just so cozy and appealing. I don't usually like clutter, but even the clutter there made me want to handle it and have it around. Lovely story for Nilmandra. And the Hobbit door is amazing! My mail hasn't come yet today, but I'll let you know when it does. What's it made of?

Author's reply

I love hobbit homes as much as I do the hobbits! It's made of polymer clay. You can do amazing things with polymer clay! (PS: Saw your email; glad it arrived safely!)

Bodkin · 22 June 2015 · Chapter 5: The Arrival

A touch of the Shire, built in the West, to make a home for Bilbo and Frodo. How welcoming! And Elrond and Celebrian holding hands like teenagers. So many reunions. The hobbits will be happy here.

Author's reply

Yes, Celebrian and others truly want the hobbits to feel at home. I am certain that after their long separation, the two would not want to be apart long. I am sure they will be!

shirebound · 22 June 2015 · Chapter 5: The Arrival

The First Homely House East of the Sea, what a lovely idea! This is a wonderful greeting and new home for the hobbits. You can imagine how happy this makes me. :)

Author's reply

I'm so glad! I had a general idea of how it looks from writing "Ancestress" but I got more and more ideas as I wrote this one! I toyed with a name in either Quenya or Sindarin, but knew I might not have time to find a translator. Then I remembered the *other* name for Rivendell/Imladris!

Antane · 20 January 2015 · Chapter 3: An Unexpected Gift

An expected gift indeed, that was nice and thoughtful of him. I wonder what he would do for Frodo if he could? Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Larner · 14 January 2015 · Chapter 3: An Unexpected Gift

I rejoice that D.L. Sauron (and that signature makes me giggle each time I see it!) thought to send this to Bilbo. How appropriate! And so proper to the season as well!

Author's reply

It makes me giggle too! Of course, that was his response to being called "Mr. Sauron", LOL! I was surprised to discover a couple of days ago I'd never posted this one here!

EruannaSerindë · 9 December 2013 · Chapter 2: Ever Ever On

Thanks a lot, now you've gone and made me cry when I'm supposed to be doing homework. But, seriously, that was beautiful. A little Niggle makes everything better.

Author's reply

Thank you, dear! "Not all tears are an evil."

Antane · 21 November 2013 · Chapter 2: Ever Ever On

An interesting tale and I am glad is going to wait for his dear ones and be surrounded by others so dear while he does so. I love Leaf by Niggle. And I noticed the nod to Narnia too. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author's reply

Yes, certainly a little nod to Narnia as well. It just made sense to me that Bilbo would wait. He never really Adventured alone; he knows the value of sharing.

Larner · 18 November 2013 · Chapter 2: Ever Ever On

Again, such a wonderful mixture of TH, LOTR, and Leaf by Niggle! So right for our Bilbo as he seeks to find the Heart of the Mountains!

Author's reply

Thank you so much, dear, for commenting here as well! I had not thought of that last bit of symbolism--but it too, fits!

Larner · 18 November 2013 · Chapter 1: A Birthday on the Blessed Isle

What a delightful birthday celebration! I love it!

Lindelea · 18 November 2013 · Chapter 2: Ever Ever On

Awww. Primula's greeting brought tears to my eyes. Lovely vision of what comes after. Beautifully done!

Author's reply

I like to think that Primula and Drogo watched over their son, and that one of the first things they'd do was to thank Bilbo for taking care of him for them. I just had to write this one, apparently, before I could break my block on covering this time in "Ancestress". I guess I just had to make sure Bilbo was well on his way, before I could deal with the others and their grief.

Lindelea · 18 November 2013 · Chapter 1: A Birthday on the Blessed Isle

Awww. Sounds like a foretaste of hobbity heaven. Visiting, and no haste, and regular meals, and walks, and games, and homeliness. Comfort and joy. And healing. Lovely glimpse.

Author's reply

I hope that it's a foretaste! I like to think of their time on the Blessed Isle as a time of comfort and joy.

Antane · 5 July 2013 · Chapter 1: A Birthday on the Blessed Isle

Sweet! Always nice to see Frodo happy and Bilbo too. I love that Bilbo treasured Merry's vase so much. :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author's reply

Thanks! There's a mention of Merry's vase in my story "Recycled".

UTfrog · 4 July 2013 · Chapter 1: A Birthday on the Blessed Isle

Lovely and the fireworks are perfect for the Fourth of July. Thank you.

Author's reply

Sorry I only just now found this review! Thank you so much dear!
