Wow! They have all grown up so much! The times in the Greenwood are getting darker and darker, and the young elflings are almost adults, so the troube they're getting into is way more serious... por Berior, really, he's not taking his adar's death well.. I must say that I find Tureden is a hoot, pushng all of Legolas' buttns just when he had Tulus house-trained... but the por guy has three ages of worry on his shoulders, so it's air to give him some leeway. Also loved that Little scene in the garden between Legolas and his cousins. It's not often that we see the three of them together, and their closeness as family even while discussing "shop" came across very nicely. Action packed, and intrigue and warrior Thranduil, yay! I'm happy I still have a couple more stories left to catch up!

CandissD · 17 July 2013 · Chapter 6: And, finally, to find the sun

A lot going on in this chapter and I enjoyed reading it all. Anxious to see what happens in the next installment! My favorite part was Galithil's words: "I know what it feels like when your world disappears from under your feet. You are the only one who can rebuild it. Even rebuilt, it will not be the same world as before. And the rebuilding takes time. You will just have to give yourself that time and accept that the world is different now." Who would have thought the prankster, trouble-making elfling of the first few stories would grow up to say something so profound as that - it shows how far he truly has come.

Author's reply

I am so glad you liked Galithil's line there. Unfortunately, because of his losses, Galithil does understand this, He still is a bit of a prankster, but he is wiser too. He has come a long way and his father would be so proud of him. He still has some surprises left in him though! ;-) Thanks so much for the reviews. I really appreciate them so much!

katrina · 13 July 2013 · Chapter 6: And, finally, to find the sun

I don't know if you meant to do this all along, but I really loved how this entire chapter is called "Finding the Sun," and that Legolas actually says he's off to find the sun in the Lord of the Rings. It is a really nice connection! I really loved this entire Finding the Sun chapter- I like how we got closure on a few of Manadhien's servants. The descriptions about their deaths were so great! I am also so glad that Beior finally comes to terms with the fact that Lindomiel was not responsible for his father's death. And I love the father-son moment Legolas and Thranduil had at the end! It scares me to think that Manadhien may have more loyal and crazy servants, and I really hope that this whole mess will be over for poor Legolas and his family soon!! Can't wait for the next installment!

Author's reply

:-) Yes, I was playing with Legolas's line. I have always loved that line in the books. Most people, Tolkien included, state that of all the Fellowship, Legolas contributed the least. I picture him as contributing perspective and the 'finding the sun' idea is the perspective he provides. As the only elf in the Fellowship, he knows, better then any of them really, the importance of success and at the same time, I think, he would understand the importance of estel in an endeavor like the Quest. I think he'd try to provide it when he could. Blah blah, point is--yes, that 'finding the sun' part of his personality is important and one I want to play with as I put him through the ringer in my stories. :-) I'm glad you liked this chapter. I struggled with it, trying to get in what I needed without drawing it out too much. You should worry about Manadhien. She took some blows in this story and that's only going to make her madder. Thanks so much for the reviews! I really appreciate them!

shiny-chang · 11 July 2013 · Chapter 6: And, finally, to find the sun

Finally finished catching up with all you've written in this series. This is by far one of the best Tolkien fanfictions I have ever read. I absolutely love your characterisations of Thranduil and Legolas - such a naughty child tsk tsk - as well as your own original characters - rarely have I ever read such 3D characters. I love Galithil and Legolas' closeness, brought up as nearly brothers, but also the realistic tones of competition and sometimes even conflict you bring to their relationship. And even Berior's current state of mind, while it is 'intolerable', it's so understandable and realistic. Hopefully he will get better with time and forgive Lindomiel. Well done, for your outstanding writing which has gripped me nearly as much as Tolkien's own writing. I look forward to your future stories!! :)

Author's reply

Sorry to be so long in answering reviews! I am always amazed and humbled and thrilled :-) when someone reads through these stories from the beginning. There is so much and when people make it all the way through, I am so happy. Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoy Legolas and Galithil. They are definitely brothers. Berior too, though to a slightly lesser degree. They will all heal eventually, but this last bit has definitely been a blow to everyone. Thank you so much for the review and I hope you continue to enjoy. I should be starting the next part sometime next week (my goal is Tuesday and hopefully I can stick to it).

picara · 11 July 2013 · Chapter 6: And, finally, to find the sun

Lots going on in the ending here for Legolas to process--despite his best efforts, the secret escaped. That can't be good. And there are possibly more servants that are basically a complete mystery. Again, not good. And he has lost some of his father's trust. I don't think that has fully hit him yet. But seeing his reactions, both to important things like killing elves and to funny things, like writing Galadriel, was great. I especially enjoyed Legolas's relationship with Galithil. They are really close and Legolas needed to talk to him. I also think that mural, to do with Berior and his father, probably with Galithil hanging around talking to them, will be good fellowship (pun intended). ;-) Looking forward to the next stories.

Author's reply

Definitely lots going on, no doubt. Lots to wrap up. I'm glad you enjoyed Legolas's reactions to hearing about both the serious and the funny. :-) Thranduil and Galadriel are fun. I can hardly wait to get them together after the Ring War. And I'm glad you like Legolas and Galithil. They are close and they both need that. You are right that all of them being together to work on that mural is just what they all need. Thanks so much for the reviews!

rikki · 10 July 2013 · Chapter 6: And, finally, to find the sun

An interesting end to this story. I see Tureden has managed to survive his interview with the king. I hope to see him in the trip to Dale, I am sure his opinions of men are hilarious. And there are consequences for Legolas and the trust he has lost with his king. Losing a year of military training is going to be hard to take. Though recovering from killing two elves is going to take time. But in a way having that year devoted to the council will broaden Legolas' knowledge of law and how the realm is run which can only be to the good in the long run. It should also increase his ability to logically face the king when he has to argue for something he wants. Several things that you have written in the earlier stories have made me wonder how in the long run Legolas will argue that going to support Aragon and to help Frodo to destroy the Ring is worth disobeying the king and turning his back on the defense of the realm. I love the interaction that you have between Thranduil and Legolas both as son and father as well as king and subject.

Author's reply

Sorry to be so long answering reviews! Hehe. Poor Tureden survives, And yes, I hope I can succeed in making his interactions in Dale fun. My goal with the Dale story is to play with cultural differences, which are always a blast. Oh so true. I cannot imagine that wasn't a hard decision for both Legolas and Gimli. Legolas even says at one point that he knows evil has come to their lands, and of course he is right. I do intend to have a great deal of angst go into that decision when I finally get to the Ring War portion of this story. I love the interaction that you have between Thranduil and Legolas both as son and father as well as king and subject. I'm glad that came across well. I think Legolas needed to hear what his father/king said there. Thanks so much for the reviews! I appreciate them so much!

daw the minstrel · 10 July 2013 · Chapter 6: And, finally, to find the sun

You surprised me when it was Galithil who woke Legolas up, rather than one of his parents. I like the relationship between these two. Galithil increasingly seems like a young adult. His account of Thranduil and Tureden's confrontation was scary. Thranduil was working himself up, it would seem. Tureden needs to learn some tact, but he's already lost two young charges, which probably scarred him and also makes him more determined to keep Legolas safe. The mural was a gift to Legolas and Berior, I think. Art is a good way to find the sun, since Legolas won't have training to distract him. I know the door thing was only symbolic but I still feel bad that he lost some of the trust Thranduil originally placed in him. I had to laugh at Thranduil's reluctance to write to Galadriel for anything, much less help. Good one, Elliska! I enjoyed this story and look forward to the others you mention. daw

Author's reply

Sorry to be so long answering reviews (again). Hehe! I'll be honest daw, that part of the chapter, with Galithil there--the first part was written from Thranduil, Lindomiel and Hallion's POVs too. I went back and forth on who it would be, but finally decided on Galithil because he and Legolas are brothers in all but blood. They have become so important to one another. And, for practical purposes, I needed Galithil and Legolas to have the conversation they went on to have, so it made sense to just start out with him there. :-) I agree that the mural is a gift. One Legolas and Berior both need. Badly. I still feel bad that he lost some of the trust Thranduil originally placed in him. Definitely. Legolas is going to feel that a bit later (assuming it doesn't get cut), but for now, having imagined the worst, he's fairly relieved. :-) Thranduil and Galadriel are just too much fun. Thanks for the review daw! I appreciate them so much!

Starry Diadem · 8 July 2013 · Chapter 5: To comply with one's duty

I've just worked my way through this entire series. I'm awed by it and by the intensity and quality of your writing. I loved it. I can't think of an LoTR story in recent years that is half so imaginative. Well done. This was another outstanding chapter.

Author's reply

Wow! I am always so humbled when someone new says they read this all the way through. Thank you so much for sticking with it. And thank you so much for your very kind words. I really hope that you continue to read and enjoy. The next story is just a bit of humor to shock Legolas in the Mannish town. But after that, the next stories really bring all the Marti plot to a climax. Thank you so much for reviewing! It really made my day!

picara · 8 July 2013 · Chapter 5: To comply with one's duty

Wow! Definitely an action packed chapter as others have said. Also some interesting character changes. Tureden really comes around. I guess seeing Legolas taking responsibility helps him see him differently. And Legolas has come around a bit too--he is offered a chance to not kill Mauril and he refuses it. That kind of shocked me. Great chapter. Looking forward to the next one.

Author's reply

Sorry, I would have sworn I had answered these. Both of those personality changes (Tureden's and Legolas's) come up in this next chapter, so I'll let the character's explain themselves to you. Glad it came across as action packed. I hope you continue to enjoy! And thanks so much for the reviews!

cbellea · 2 July 2013 · Chapter 5: To comply with one's duty

Wow! That is honestly my only reaction to this chapter. SO MUCH DRAMA and suspense and everything- you kept me at the edge of my seat!! It was so satisfying to see Mauril and Pelin dead, although I am worried that Fuilin is not the only servant out and about. Could there be other ones that we do not know of? I also have a bad feeling about Thranduil et al still on the hunt. Obviously, Thranduil does not die, but what about the others? And I'm getting to a point where I am extremely nervous about Lindomiel. I desperately want to believe that she will always be there for Legolas in the background, and make it past The Hobbit and LOTR and sail with Thranduil, but gosh, I was so scared that Legolas would come back to the stronghold only to find that Fuilin had already infiltrated or something and had gotten to Lindomiel. Aghh! But that is for much later, and I am simply rambling my fears! Great chapter! I'm so happy to see Tureden and Legolas get on better terms!

Author's reply

Sorry. I thought I already answered these! I am so glad it came across that way. I can never judge these types of chapters, because I already know what is going to happen. None of it seems dramatic to me. :-) You are so right. You are so right, just not in the small details. That is all I'm gonna say. :-) Thank you so much for the reviews. I appreciate them so much!

rikki · 2 July 2013 · Chapter 5: To comply with one's duty

Legolas has certainly redeemed himself for the earlier failure to maintain the security of the escape door from the cave. He is all warrior and definitely Thranduil's son as he works to capture or kill Mauril. I was drawn in with bated breath as you described the nerve wracking cliff jump and rush down the narrow trail. It was very descriptive and it drew me right into the chase. Legolas may have learned a lot about tracking on that adventure, but I think he may have also initiated some of the Palace guards into cliff diving. I liked the way that Legolas kept his cool in dealing with Tureden, basically telling him that the king's orders superceded anything else he was told. And being willing to sacrifice himself for the safety of the realm showed that Legolas has learned the true meaning of being the king's son. Now is the hard part for me, waiting until next Tuesday to get to the next chapter.

Author's reply

I was so certain I had answered reviews. I did it in my head, anyway. Sorry! I was definitely trying to show Legolas was willing to do anything to redeem himself, so I'm glad that came across. I'm so glad it seemed tense to you. These things are so hard for me to judge. I think he may have also initiated some of the Palace guards into cliff diving. LOL!! I liked the way that Legolas kept his cool in dealing with Tureden, basically telling him that the king's orders superceded anything else he was told. And being willing to sacrifice himself for the safety of the realm showed that Legolas has learned the true meaning of being the king's son. This made my day because it is almost verbatim what my chapter notes say this chapter needed to do. :-) Sorry to make you wait until Wednesday! Like I said--holiday totally messed up my schedule! Author Reply: Oops! And I forgot the most important part. Thanks so much for the reviews! I really appreciate them!

Naledi · 2 July 2013 · Chapter 5: To comply with one's duty

That was such a tense chase in the first part of the chapter - my heart was pounding by the end. I'm glad that Legolas and Tureden have cleared the air and apologised to each other. They both made mistakes, but Tureden proved himself a good guard when he jumped off the cliff even after being injured.

Author's reply

Sorry, I would have sworn I'd answered reviews. The holiday messed me up. I am so glad it came across as tense. Tension in battle chapters is always hard for me to judge. They needed to apologize because they did both make mistakes. Tureden is a good guard. He just needed to adjust his perspective of who Legolas is, which, largely speaking, he has done. Thank you so much for the reviews! I appreciate them so much!

daw the minstrel · 2 July 2013 · Chapter 5: To comply with one's duty

Oh yay. I've been waiting today for this chapter. That was a tense, daring chase scene with everyone trying to trap everyone else. I could feel the bodily strain on people as they crouched and were hit and jumped and caught. Thank goodness Legolas was wearing the mail, but I feel sorry for the redshirts who died. This was a bad moment in the history of the stronghold. I hope Fuilin is brought down. Even if Thranduil finds no extra footprints in the cave, word of its existence and location could have been passed along already. Sigh. I was comforted by the reminder that there were more doors, but still. Tureden and Legolas seem to be coming closer to an understanding, which is good. We'll see what the Elven King has to say about all this. I did like seeing Warrior Thranduil. We don't see that often enough.

Author's reply

I swear, in my head anyway, I answered reviews. Sorry! I'm glad it came across as tense. These battle sorts of chapters are always impossible to judge because, of course, I know exactly how it will all play out so it is not tense to me at all. Definitely a bad moment. Warrior Thranduil kicks butt. He makes a lot more appearances in the stories as we get closer to the Watchful Peace, which we are doing. Thank you so much for the reviews, daw! I appreciate them so much!

Morn · 2 July 2013 · Chapter 5: To comply with one's duty

So they've managed to dispose of a few more, good. However, I can't help but feel you're lulling us into a false sense of security... it can't be so easy to dispose of her servants, can it? Yet another intriguing chapter. Can't wait to see what comes next.

Author's reply

Sorry, the holiday weekend messed me up. I would have sworn I had answered these. You know me so well! I am glad you enjoyed and hope you continue to do so! Thank you so much for the reviews. I really appreciate them!

katrina · 29 June 2013 · Chapter 4: Of darkness

Another really intense and great chapter! Now, Manadhien trusty servants have been cut down by two- although, as mentioned in some reviews already posted, I am nervous about Glilavan still being in the stronghold. Legolas, Beior, and Galithal have all grown up so immensely! While it was heartbreaking for Beior to have to experience what it is like to kill another elf, I think it was an important lesson for him. I don't think he would have understood Legolas or Thranduil's reluctance to execute Manadhien or her servants if he had not killed Lagril. And he would have kept on blaming Legolas/ Thranduil for not executing the elves before his father was murdered. I feel bad for Beior, and quite frankly, everyone. I hope that they find some happiness and get over with this ordeal soon!

Author's reply

I am really glad it came across as intense. You should be worried about Glilavan. But that is all I will say about that. You will wait a bit longer to find out why. (I'm so mean). They have grown up! Given their responsibilities, they are truly very nearly adults. Berior has always been by far the most sheltered and so he has had a hard time in this story. I unfortunately needed some understanding and got it in a very hard way. One more chapter and then they will finally all find some sun. :-) Thanks so much for the reviews! I appreciate them so much!

picara · 27 June 2013 · Chapter 4: Of darkness

Tense chapter. I was going to comment that this Legolas struck me as the Legolas who went to Rivendell to take responsibility for losing Gollum, but I see you already commented on that, so I'll just mention some of my other fav parts. I had to laugh at Noruil's porcupine comment. That is a good, nasty visual and it says a lot about him that he's the only one laughing (well, him and me so what does that say). **He is old enough to serve my court. And for this lack of judgment, he will be old enough to face it.** That ought to tell Tureden all he needs to know about Legolas and the level of trust and responsibility the king holds him to. And it had to be a pretty sobering thing for Legolas to hear. Galithil not giving Legolas his quiver back cracked me up. Talk about role reversal. And I like that Thranduil and his wife are still flirty after all these years. Great chapter. Looking forward to seeing what happens next.

Author's reply

I'm glad it came across as tense. And I was so pleased with the lines you picked out. They were some of my favorites as well. I am glad you are still enjoying and thank you so much for the reviews! I really appreciate them!

Nora · 27 June 2013 · Chapter 4: Of darkness

I'm so happy you started a new story. I love it so far. I really don't like Tureden. I hope he gets what he deserves.

Author's reply

I am glad you found it and that you are enjoying it. Tureden will definitely pay. :-) Count on Thranduil to see to that. Thank you so much for the reviews! I really appreciate them!

cbellea · 25 June 2013 · Chapter 4: Of darkness

Oo, I don't feel good about this at all! Glilavan hasn't left for the havens already? AND Legolas might have accidentally revealed the secret passage of the stronghold? Sounds like the perfect way for Marti to get her trusty servant back- could this all be a distraction, so that they have time to rescue Gliavan when every other guard is out in the forest looking for them? Great chapter, as usual!

Author's reply

I'm not going to spoil this. But yes, you should be worried. I'm shutting my mouth. I'm glad you are enjoying! Thanks so much for the reviews! I really appreciate them!

rikki · 25 June 2013 · Chapter 4: Of darkness

I was so hoping that this chapter would be here when I got home from work. I have read it twice now, once I speed read through it to see what was happening and then after supper, I sat down and had a nice relaxing read. After my last post about shutting up Tureden with the orcs, I am beginning to see him in this chapter in a more favorable light. He certainly takes his job seriously in stepping in front of Legolas to protect him from a wildly shot arrow. And finding out that he wasn't given good information about what Legolas could do and what he couldn't do hopefully will have him reconsidering Legolas' actions. Hopefully, they can work out their differences. Legolas on the other hand is getting a thorough tongue lashing by an enraged king. Legolas is enough of a grown elf to recognize that this just isn't his adar speaking to him about his leaving the cave through the escape door. What a problem if the bolt hole has been discovered by the enemy. Especially if one could get into the cave that way. Hind sight is always better, but hopefully Legolas is going to be thinking more before he decides to do something in the future. I like the way you have him face his actions and making decisions about what he is capable of doing in searching for the other elves. He is growing up into an adult that his parents will be proud to acknowledge.

Author's reply

I am so happy you wanted to read it twice! :-) Tureden isn't completely bad. He is horrible, not doubt. Legolas is still with you on locking him up with some orcs. Not the type of person I'd like to be forced to hang around with all day like Legolas is. But he can do his job--and it's a tough job stepping in front of an arrow for someone. And he can recognize and regret when he's been wrong. He is growing up into an adult that his parents will be proud to acknowledge. And that sums up exactly what I am trying to show here.:-) Legolas was feeling panicked, not himself after the recent events, and he didn't think. If Anastor did the same, the worst he could do would be to hurt himself and maybe a few other people who tried to help him. For someone in Legolas's position, the worst he can do by not thinking before he acts is something that potentially affects the entire realm. Lesson learned. What a problem if the bolt hole has been discovered by the enemy. Definitely. I won't spoil this. But definitely. Thanks so much for the reviews! I really appreciate them!

Morn · 25 June 2013 · Chapter 4: Of darkness

Well, after leaving us on that cliffhanger, yet another intense chapter. And poor Berior, after that speech to the king that arrow will at least help him to understand why what he said was wrong. And we are really seeing Legolas grow up and take some responsibility. His childish behaviour sneaking out now has adult consequences and hopefully that won't come back to bite them in the future... With seemingly half the forest searching for these elves I hope they manage to at least get rid of another. Looking forward to seeing how the situation with Tureden is dealt with also. The comments about Aewen were certainly way out of line. At least he managed to do his job properly in the oak.

Author's reply

I'm so glad it came across as intense. It is always hard for me to tell. Yes, you are right. Berior now has a good deal more understanding of what he thought he wanted. He still wants it. That hasn't changed. He's still really angry. But he understands Thranduil and Legolas's POVs too and he knows how he handled it was way wrong and that probably even what he wants is wrong. Legolas is definitely growing up. Generally speaking, under normal circumstances, he can be counted upon to make good decisions, and people like Dollion's (a captain) deference to him is a sign/result of that. But yeah, sneaking out? Bad Choice. Not thinking, even when you are feeling a little desperate? Not something someone in his position ever has the luxury of doing. Lesson learned. Thankfully, Legolas does learn. :-) With seemingly half the forest searching for these elves I hope they manage to at least get rid of another. Hehehe. You know, when I wrote this, I was torn over this. Like you say, half the forest is after them. What does that say about them if they get no one? But then I said--yeah, Mirkwood hasn't really got a good reputation on this prisoner thing, do they? Lost the dwarves. Lost Gollum. :-) It was a hard decision to sacrifice a another baddy here or make Thranduil's guards look like fools. I'll let you wait a week to find out what happens. :-) And Tureden. There are acutally several versions of this written in different drafts. I just have to decide which to use. I think people would like one version in particular, since they really don't like Tureden. I'd need to tone it down a bit though. Had too much fun writing it myself and it may be a bit OOC. :-) But yes, he can do his job. He will keep Legolas safe. That much, we can say. Thanks so much for the reviews! I appreciate them so much!

Naledi · 25 June 2013 · Chapter 4: Of darkness

I started reading Interrupted Journeys a while back, but then got . . .erm . . . interrupted. Anyway, I'm all caught up now, and completely gripped by it. I love your vision of Mirkwood and the elves living there. Now I'm champing at the bit for the next chapter. I can't help feeling that there's more danger to come for Legolas and he's hardly in a good state to deal with it, thanks to the turmoil he's been through.

Author's reply

:-) It is so much fun to hear from someone new. Thanks so much! It is such a long series, I am always so amazed when someone tell me they started it after seeing some of the middle parts. I appreciate that so much. :-) I am so glad you enjoyed it and I hope you continue to. You're right that Legolas is not going to walk away from this hunt unscathed. That just wouldn't any fun at all. :-) Thank you so much for the review! I really appreciate it!

curiouswombat · 25 June 2013 · Chapter 4: Of darkness

Oh such an excellent chapter that I am not sure what to pick out to comment on. Good to see that Tureden did, at least, do his job when required. Good, too, for him to realise that others treat Legolas as someone able to make decisions and give orders. That Berior ended up killing Lagril was particularly poignant - and I can see that, oddly, it might even help him cope with some of his inner turmoil better, rather than increase it. I really felt for poor Legolas when Tureden was describing the time with Aewen - and I thought Legolas handling of this situation, and his explanation about why he chose to use the tunnel, illustrate very well that he is becoming almost an adult. I have to admit that the dangers of using the tunnel had not occurred to me any more than they had to Legolas - but of course how right. I will be interested to see what happens with Tureden once the immediate action of the hunt is over. All in all I am hoping you have lots of writing time over the next few weeks!

Author's reply

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Yes, Tureden does know how to take guarding Legolas seriously. That he does do. And yes, exactly right that it is good for him to see how people who know Legolas treat him. He needs to clue in from that a bit. And he does. Eventually. I definitely think you are right about Berior. He was so frustrated because, like young people, he was very convinced he was right and he couldn't get people to understand how right he was. Now, he has a little more understanding and he is going to be more understanding of others as a result. Oh yeah, Legolas was peeved about Tureden yelling everything about Aewen right there in the Hall. I'm glad his explanations came across as adult. That is exactly what I am going for here. Showing him as really pretty mature. Ready for the role he's been raised for (and showing the beginnings of the personality that will serve him and the Fellowship when he is thrust into that situation later). Honestly, in the original version of this, when I first wrote it. I didn't really think of all the problems with using that tunnel when I made Legolas decide to do it. It wasn't until I wrote this scene and outlined how Thranduil/the king would react that it occurred to me that this was a major security breach, especially at this time. I was so happy when I figured that out, because it made this that much more tense. ;-) There are several Tureden edits available for me to post. I am trying to decide which I have the courage to put up and which will fit without making the last chapter too long/distracting from the point of it too much. I am also hoping for lots of writing time! Thanks so much for the reviews! I appreciate them so much!

Fantasia · 25 June 2013 · Chapter 4: Of darkness

Too much tension, I'm in the edge of my seat....I want to be there so badly when Thranduil finish with Tureden.

Author's reply

I am so glad this is coming across as tense. As usual, it is very hard for me to tell. I actually have several versions/edits of Thranduil's final reaction written. Remember, he doesn't even know yet exactly how Legolas's ribs got re-injured, or how badly. When it clicks for him that Tureen did it on purpose, when angry, when he could have chosen differently (to pull his blows), I don't think Thranduil is going to react well to hearing that. Especially since he's already angry. So, in one version, his reaction is actually 'on stage.' We see it. In another, it is related to Legolas by someone who witnessed it. And in another, Legolas sees the results, but not the actual reaction. I haven't decided which version to post yet.
