Alas that he knows such distaste of mushrooms. I didn't like the look of them as a child, but love them now. But the final line is perfect for the situation!

Author's reply

I love mushrooms; in fact I plan to have them for dinner! Many thanks for your kind words :)

"Nevertheless, he couldn’t stop the lone tear that escaped its prison and slipped down his cheek, landing in Eowyn’s hair and shimmering there like a bead of glass." Wow, a great sentence. Really sweet story. :)

Thank you very much, Ellynn!

I like the sinister atmosphere in this one.

Ah, that one last moment together, the realization this is goodbye, and the chance at last to send direct word to Frodo as well.

Author's reply

Thank you for the review, Larner; glad you enjoyed it.

harrowcat · 21 June 2012 · Chapter 1: Sam's Last Gift

perfect. (Did you mean the formatting to be like this?)

Author's reply

Thanks, harrowcat :) how is the formatting appearing to you? I have the story blurb at the top in italics (I couldn't work out how/whether it's possible to do chapter notes) then an asterisk, then the drabble underneath, with double spacing to make it easier on the eye. Sometimes different browsers can send things a bit squiffy though. Apologies if that's what you're also seeing and it looks odd to you - it was just what made sense to me :)
