A most delicate pillow, this. How long it's going to take him to make the realization he is no longer in his own when is anyone's guess.

Author's reply

indeed it is a most delicate pillow and he is grateful for the comfort. His realization comes soon enough as you now know. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Larner · 19 July 2012 · Chapter 2

Heh! Now, THAT is a name to raise curiosity in the likes of Haldir, if I am not mistaken! Poor Haldir still hasn't realized he is not in his own WHEN.

Author's reply

Yes, THAT name certainly would get Haldir's attention, but, as you said, he hasn't figured things out yet. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Ellynn · 19 July 2012 · Chapter 5

Yay, Haldir and his friends can show their quality! I bet the people will look at them differently now. I like how you added tension and action in the end. ;)

Author's reply

Yeah, people will look at them differently now, it just took a while for the Lorien 6 to get themselves together. I'm glad you liked the tension and action at the end of the chapter. Sometimes elves have to be kick-started apparently. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Lyana · 19 July 2012 · Chapter 5

Something tells me that fighting off the spiders is the best therapy these guys could have had... I feel sorry for those in the community encountering such horror for the first time, but hopefully attitudes will change quickly as they begin to realize the true worth of the warriors (brought to them just in time, it seems!)

Author's reply

Sometimes the best way to get someone to swim is to throw him into the deep end. Actually the elves of the settlement are used to horrors wandering the woods which is why they don't like the ground that much and live in the trees. They have lost hunters before, too often really. When Gilwen first talks to Haldir she speaks of hunters being lost to them on the hunt. The fact that Haldir and his ellyn fought and won is something that these folks of Celos Galen just don't get to see much and they will express their appreciation soon enough. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Agape4Gondor · 18 July 2012 · Chapter 5

Another great chapter. I know the warriors had to grow in steength of character, but this was harsh. How sad to go to sleep hoping to see the sun, and waking up every morning to only starlight. The villagers best show eespect now!

Author's reply

The whole experience was harsh, but it really needed to be to snap the guys out of their stupor. This whole thing has been a horrible shock to them on so many different levels. The villagers will show their appreciation soon. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

eliza · 18 July 2012 · Chapter 5

Ha!!! take that in your lembas and smoke it Damrod. Now who looks helpless!! Wonder what that snooty daerneath is going to say now!! Nothing like kicking some bad guy butt to shut big mouths up. Ok, can you tell I'm a little sensitive where haldir is concerned. LOL

Author's reply

LOL! Yes, the snooty and judgemental will have some words to eat now. I'm sure Haldir very much appreciates your support of him and his warriors in this difficult time :-) Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Fiondil · 18 July 2012 · Chapter 5

This is a fun chapter watching our intrepid heroes try to keep up with the Galadhrim hunters and having to put up with a lot of abuse and then they show their worth in sensing the evil of the spiders and destroying them. Now the hunters are suitably impressed. I would love to have been there to see their expressions. *grin*

Author's reply

This is one of my favorite chapters as well. The hunters really can't complain any mroe now, can they? LOL! Thank you so very much for taking the time to read and review!

curiouswombat · 18 July 2012 · Chapter 5

How right you are, I think, to make them unfit and not at all impressive when they first start to practice and to hunt. But neatly done to show how their instincts kick in to benefit the whole group too.

Author's reply

Thank you very much! The warriors were wrong-footed in so many ways, they woudl have needed tiem to adjust physically emotionally adn spiritually and even then they just couldn't get it right as they found out - until instinct kicked in. The hunters also needed to learn a lesson as well, which I think they just did. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Whispy · 18 July 2012 · Chapter 5

Well, it appears that warriors aren't so useless after all.

Author's reply

Yes, warriors do indeed appear to eb useful to have around. It was hard lesson for all involved, but I think well-learned. LOL! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Agape4Gondor · 11 July 2012 · Chapter 4

I can hardly imagine what it must be like, suffering grievous wounds and time travel, to try to piece it all together. Good chapter.

Author's reply

It must have been very difficult for them. But they will adapt or so we hope. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

eiluj · 11 July 2012 · Chapter 4

And now the words have been spoken. So interesting to have LotR characters go back in time (rather than mere modern mortals). And you have a logical mechanism for the time travel; those aren't easy to come by. I suppose that means they're in Beleriand to stay ... unless perhaps at the Ring's destruction...? “Lord Celeborn told us about courageous and mighty warriors he knew in the early times of Doriath in the Night before nights. They carried great long bows unlike any weapon ever before seen in Doriath and bore deadly swords. They came from a settlement called Celos Galen. Lord Celeborn also said that by the time that Lord Denethor Lenwion came to Thingol’s aid in battle, Celos Galen was no more." Inevitable, I suppose, that such warriors would end up where the fighting was. And were the particular warriors in this story some of the ones Celeborn met in Doriath? Wise Celeborn, to tell no more. Psst -- only one u in Saruman.

Author's reply

My mechanism for time travel is from another short story I wrote called "Night Terrors" (found in Eclectic Whimsies or EW for short LOL). Time travel doens't pccur in that story but other things do which Hal and Angaril described in this chapter. I'm pleased it works so well :-) As for Celeborn's words, even Haldir and his friends do not understand the meaning of them in full. Thanks for the spelling correction. oops! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Whispy · 11 July 2012 · Chapter 4

Well, at least somebody is putting the pieces together... Now let's see how much time it will take for them to fully comes to terms with where (and WHEN) they are.

Author's reply

It did take long enough for six to put two and two together, didn't it? There are many ways in which the group will hve to come to terms and they really are not as prepared for them as they think they are. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

eliza · 11 July 2012 · Chapter 4

OMG!!!! Talk about hitting your head and falling down a rabbit hole! Now this is a mystery our boys are going to have a hard time figuring out. This is a great story Ellie, extremely intriguing. thanks for the great read

Author's reply

yeah...it was a rather nasty shock and it is a gift that keeps on giving as they will learn. LOL! I'm pleased you are so intrigued with this tale! Thank you for reading and reviewing!

curiouswombat · 11 July 2012 · Chapter 4

I've just spent lunchtime reading so far - and I am totally hooked. What a fascinating premise for a story.

Author's reply

Yay on being totally hooked on the story :-) I'm so happy you are enjoying it. I started this story about 6 or so years ago, and it wasn't until last year that I was able to get it moving beyond chapter 1. In truth, my biggest obstacle has been figuring out where and when they were/are/were going to be because the muse simply refused to reveal such to me. Apparently it was on a need to know basis, and, as author, I simply did not need to know! After having confessed this, if it is any comfort, I am working on chapter 24 now, so there is time for the muse and life to cooperate or not and still meet the schedule for posting which I have established. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Agape4Gondor · 3 July 2012 · Chapter 3

Oh my gosh! What a totally awesome and heart-breaking chapter. I nearly wept myself. Please don't stop!

Author's reply

Nothing is going to come easy for Haldir and especialy not when he begins to realise what he potentially has lost, as you saw here. Thank you for mourning with him. I had to update a day early beause I will be too busy on Wednesday of this week. Next week I should be back on schedule for updating. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Rhyselle · 2 July 2012 · Chapter 2

Oh! I really like this! I'm guessing that Haldir was transported back in time as well as location? The culture shock aspect of this fic is going to be interesting, I can tell. I'm also very happy that his brothers are going to be all right. It would have been a terrible burden to him if they really had been dead, as he assumed when he saw them on the ground at Helm's Deep. I'm looking forward to reading your future chapters, to see just what Haldir experiences next. Well done!

Author's reply

I'm very glad you like this story so far :-) Much has happened to Haldir indeed! It is a great comfort to him that his brothers are alive as well. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Ellynn · 29 June 2012 · Chapter 2

I wish I could've seen the look on his face! *giggles*

Author's reply

Yes, the look on his face probably was priceless. LOL! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

MlleGigi · 28 June 2012 · Chapter 2

Hm, hunch confirmed...at the end of the last chapter, I suspected that Haldir had somehow been thrown back in time. It will be interesting to see how he adjusts.

Author's reply

Haldir does have many interesting times ahead of him and a great deal of adjustment. I hope you will let me knwo what you think of his adjustment period. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

demeter d · 27 June 2012 · Chapter 2

"Beleriand?" Oh, my! Help me remember, was that before the creation of the son and moon? Maybe all that these people KNOW are the stars and the Two Trees? Are any of you familiar with the old television series "The Twilight Zone"? Come to think of it, THAT would be a perfect name for a suspense story starring ancient elves! But now, the issue remains, are these warriors really dead, or in some kind of limbo? I will be anxiously awaiting!

Author's reply

Beleriand was both before and after the creation of the sun and the moon. How is that for an unhelpful answer? I loved "The Twilight Zone". It was one of my favorite shows. As for what happened to the warriors...tune in next week...and the next..and...LOL! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Agape4Gondor · 27 June 2012 · Chapter 2

I'm sorry. I know Haldir's frustrated. But I was rolling at the poor elleth's dilemma. 'Which star do you call Anor?' I was howling! And the continued misunderstanding. Priceless. I'm so glad you carried it out further! I felt like I was listening to the 'who's on first' joke. Always a knee-slapper. BTW - I know a few people whom I would love to 'sing' to sleep! LOL Oh my! What a great ending. This is indeed a fun tale. I can't wait for more. Thanks so much for sharing it. You have made my evening filled with smiles.

Author's reply

You know, I had so much fun trying to think of how many different ways she could misinterpret what Haldir was trying to say. And it is such fun bring out Haldir's "annoyed captain" side. I'm very happy that you laughed. I know many people who I would love to sing to sleep as well... I'm so pleased you are enjoying this story and that I am making you smile. I really needed to hear that as I face a long series of life events that are making me not smile. You have made my day, Thank you!

Kaylee Arafinwiel · 27 June 2012 · Chapter 2

LOL! "In Beleriand of course" Oh dear, oh dear...*snicker* I wonder just what Lord Namo pulled there... (As for "what is the deal with 'Ellis'" from Fiondil...I put it down to a typo. The "e" is just above the "s" on a typical American keyboard - I bet his finger just slipped, LOL. :) Stuff happens. *hopes Ellie is not mad with my atar indonyo*) Kaylee

Author's reply

It may not have been Namo who pulled anything or it might have been, I won't tell - at least not yet. LOL! But, yes, we are not necessarily in Kansas anymore, Toto. As for the Ellis part, I was teasing Fiondil for mistyping my name. I do not think he would hesitate to tease me for mistyping his name. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Kaylee Arafinwiel · 27 June 2012 · Chapter 1

"What is a day?" Oh, boy, poor confused Haldir (and poor confused me, that is until I read as far as you've gotten by this point - now I understand her confusion over "day", but I'm still confused...hehe) Kaylee

Author's reply

Yes, Haldir was quite confused and I'm sorry that you are, too. Okay, well maybe not. I don't want you the reader figuring things out too quickly. You will just have to wait until Haldir figures it out :-) Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Kaylee Arafinwiel · 27 June 2012 · Chapter 0

Ellie, I'm not usually one for movieverse, but this seems quite interesting! I wonder just what you've gotten Haldir into...*grin* Kaylee

Author's reply

I'm glad you are reading and giving this story a chance anyway. As you have seen, you have to keep reading to understnad just what Haldir has gotten into. LOL! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Laikwalâssê · 27 June 2012 · Chapter 2

Hi Ellie, I like this story very much. Poor Haldir. I can so symathize with him. Beleriand? Uh, oh has he made a time travel? How interesting, or is he simply fantasizing? Eager to read more. Thank you for a lovely and intriguing story. Lai

Author's reply

I'm pleased you are enjoying the story :-) Poor Haldir is indeed in an interesting situation. He doesn't understand it yet, but he will soon enough. It doesn't mean he will like it necessarily, but he will understand it at least. muwahahahaha I mean LOL Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Whispy · 27 June 2012 · Chapter 2

Oh my. Haldir is very, VERY lost, isn't he? Also: “ANOR IS NOT A STAR!” -snickers- Oh, the irony. ;) Can't wait to read more, Whispy

Author's reply

Yes, our dear Haldir, is very very lost indeed! He doesn't quite get it yet, but he will soon. I admit I had way too much fun with the ANOR IS NOT A STAR line. LOL! Thanks for reading and reviewing!
