Ah! Perfect indeed, Branwyn! I love that not all the oliphaunts died in the battle, and that there is hope that a few may find acceptance in Gondor, in Faramir's princedom of Ithilien! Wonderful!

Thank you so much! Ever since I first read the LOTR, I have worried about what happened to those poor oliphaunts. From what I read about elephants for this story, they are happiest if they can roam free in the forest part of the time, so Ithilien should be a good home for them.

This is one of the most charming stories i've ever read. It has all of tge beauty of a Greyfriars Bobby, A Call of the Wild, and Lassie all rolled into one. Lily is now one of my favorite LOTR characters. Her courage, love, and fidelity are unparalleled. I love the ending!

Thank you so much for the lovely review! When I started writing this, I did some research on real-world "oliphaunts" and discovered that they are amazingly intelligent, empathetic, and loyal (to their own kind and sometimes to humans). I am sure that Lily and Belzagar found a happy home in Ithilien, along with the rest of the oliphaunts. :)

I like to think that some of the others survived, poor things. Maybe Sam got to meet Lily. This story ends around the time of Aragorn's coronation, and Sam was in Minas Tirith then. :) Thanks so much for reviewing!

Very well written, love the oliphaunt's POV. You could write a whole series on these OC's!

I am so glad that you liked the story. I do volunteer work with horses which helped with the POV since both are grazing, herd animals. Thanks so much for commenting!

Thanks so much for the kind review. I like to think that most of them survived and either found a home in Ithilien or made their way back to Harad eventually. :)
