Hi Linda, I really liked this story as well. Frightening and redeeming, I particularly liked the end.

Ellynn · 20 February 2012 · Chapter 3: The Quality of Mercy

Aww, excellent epilogue! I like it a lot.

Thank you so much.

Very Tolkien. Everyone has their own part to play! I think that you have a word missing 7 paragraphs from ' The End'

Author's reply

Thank you, I'm pleased this felt in the spirit of Tolkien to you. I'll go and look for the error.

harrowcat · 20 February 2012 · Chapter 2: For of the most High cometh healing

A great turn of mood.

harrowcat · 20 February 2012 · Chapter 1: Canst thou not minister to a mind diseased,

You are getting really good with the cliffhangers.

harrowcat · 20 February 2012 · Chapter 0: Lord of Gifts

Ooh, this made me shiver!

Author's reply

Goodness! Well I'm glad it made an impact!

Raksha The Demon · 19 February 2012 · Chapter 0: Lord of Gifts

So Sauron had a few extra ensorcelled enticements crafted especially for Men? That makes sense; though he was wrong about ruling Arda until it was remade. Good usage of the one and only (well, Second and Third Age) Dark Lord!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review of my first, and most likely last, attempt at writing Sauron. I thought this story was finished but the Muses gave me two more chapters .I hope you'll like the new ending better.

At least the daggers are now well gone, and thank heaven for that! And Faramir was shocked into sanity by what he saw Turgon prepared to do in order to keep the daggers from being destroyed. The Powers protected all three of them that day, I think.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. Good riddance to those horrible daggers! They were haunting me too as I've no idea why the story doubled in length!

Larner · 19 February 2012 · Chapter 0: Lord of Gifts

Oh, but so this is how he did it, is it? Shuddering!

Author's reply

I guess anything Sauron did would be pretty nasty!

Larner · 6 January 2012 · Chapter 2: For of the most High cometh healing

Having learned how Elrond's wife was afflicted during her captivity by Sauron's creatures and having seen Frodo under the influence of the Morgul wound, Aragorn has knowledge of what he faces, after all. A wonderful and appropriate healing!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. It was a great blessing for Faramir that Aragorn was at hand, one of the few who understood about the evil magic.I'm pleased you enjoyed the healing.

There is some very powerful writing in this - and I must admit to loving Éowyn's opinion of Elven singing!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed this and Eowyn's opinions.

Larner · 18 December 2011 · Chapter 2: For of the most High cometh healing

A blessing that Aragorn and Arwen were both there that day, both to bolster both Steward and soldier and to recall Faramir to emotional health. Quite the thing to apparently find a chest of Morgul blades as they did. Frodo would probably have done perhaps worse than even Faramir had he seen the weapons, too.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. It was indeed a blessing Aragorn and Arwen had come to visit. I agree Frodo would have fared even worse.

Larner · 18 December 2011 · Chapter 1: Canst thou not minister to a mind diseased,

It does indeed sound as if Faramir and his men found quite the trap laid some time before by the Enemy.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I fear that is indeed the case!

I think my favorite part of this is your description of the song - all its contrasts you describe. It sounds so beautiful. And congratulations for the 3rd place. :)

Nenya · 16 December 2011 · Chapter 1: Canst thou not minister to a mind diseased,

That was really, really good. :) You can easily hear the characters in your head as you read it because it's written so beautifully.

Raksha The Demon · 7 December 2011 · Chapter 1: Canst thou not minister to a mind diseased,

Uh-oh. Faramir, you just can't catch a break! Gotta watch out for nasty-enchanted daggers found in Minas Ithil. Lucky thing that one's king and best friend is also a healer...

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. It seems poor Faramir can hardly go out of the door without some mishap befalling him! A good thing Aragorn has come to visit.
