These were nice! I liked all three, but I especially liked the 'I Spy' one, very cute. :-) I think I'm through all your stories now! :-( I've had so much fun reading them, you're truly a wonderful writer. Thanks so much for all the time and effort you've put into your work, the results have been marvelous!
Author's reply
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed these little snippets of tales. And ack, all done now?? I need to get writing!! :)
SNEHA · 18 December 2013 · Chapter 3: I Spy
That was lovely! I recently tumbled onto your stories and have been devouring them up. You write them so well! Hope you update soon.
Author's reply
Thank you, SNEHA! Glad you're enjoying them! Do leave your thoughts on other stories if you like--it's nice to hear what readers think. As for updates, I hope to have a one-shot for Christmas posted a few days. :)
hasslecastle · 14 December 2013 · Chapter 3: I Spy
I loooove it!!!! That poem is wonderful! It sums everything together. and that was unbelievably cute. Hasslecastle from fanfiction
Author's reply
Thank you, hasslecastle! So glad you liked it. My friend Mikononyte came up with that poem and I knew I had to use it in a fic about Elessar and Eldarion. :)
LisaG · 18 November 2013 · Chapter 3: I Spy
Absolutely wonderful! What a sweet scene between Aragorn and Eldarion and then Arwen. *sigh* Both painted such wonderful pictures in my head! :)
Author's reply
Thank you, LisaG! So glad you enjoyed this little interlude.
UTfrog · 27 September 2013 · Chapter 3: I Spy
Beautiful story. Well told and I love your ending.
Author's reply
Thank you, UTfrog! Glad you enjoyed it. :)
Fantasia · 27 September 2013 · Chapter 3: I Spy
Ahhh! what a beautiful story. So glad to see a story from you where poor Aragorn is not hurt. Eldarion is just a priceless treasure, no doubt. Do you have other stories coming? you know that I love your merry gang of Rangers. Thank you
Author's reply
Thank you, Fantasia! I'm glad you enjoyed this little story. I have more writing time these days, so yes, more stories in the works, either about Bowen or the Rangers or both... or who knows what the muses may demand. I'm just glad to be able to write again. :)
Larner · 27 September 2013 · Chapter 3: I Spy
Now, if Eldarion realized the fairy princess dancing fair was his own mother, he just might feel differently! Heh! A sweet interlude, and one I'm certain was replayed with many interpretations over the years!
Author's reply
Ha! I bet you're right--Eldarion's at that age where little boys tend to want to marry their mothers, if my friend's son is any example... he proposed to her just the other day. ;) I'm glad you enjoyed this little tale--thanks for letting me know!
LisaG · 13 July 2010 · Chapter 2: By the Lake
All I can think of when I read this is "Ahhhhhhhhhhhh"...finally, some peace for Aragorn at last!
Author's reply
Thank you, LisaG! I was definitely trying to inspire that feeling of "ahhhhh"... Aragorn certainly earned his day at the lake, didn't he? I'd say he's due a LOT of those kind of "ahhhhh" days. :) Thanks for the review!
Vilwarin · 2 July 2010 · Chapter 2: By the Lake
Aw, what a wonderful, peaceful piece. There's probably no better way to spend a hot summer day than to relax with your beloved. And Annúminas probably is a much better place for it, too, with the city built directly next to the lake. I absolutely love it and wish I could join them by the lake.
Author's reply
Thank you, Vilwarin! It's always gratifying to hear a reader say that they want to be *there* with the people in the story or ficlet. I really do think that Annuminas had to have been the most lovely, peaceful city--and a place where Aragorn and Arwen could let their hair down a bit. Thanks for the review!
Inzilbeth · 1 July 2010 · Chapter 2: By the Lake
Ah, isn't this so satisfying and everything you could wish for them to enjoy in life together! Lovely!
Author's reply
Thanks, Inzilbeth... it's so fun to imagine them having a lighter moment as a family. Being King was a full-time job, but I'm sure he made time for leisure, and what better leisure than a lazy afternoon by the lake, soaking in the sunshine? Thanks for the review!
Inzilbeth · 1 July 2010 · Chapter 1: Taming The Ranger
This is lovely! Aragorn really showed his mettle by coping so admirably with this huge change in his life. I particularly liked how you captured his kindness here.
Author's reply
Thank you! I do think Aragorn faced the challenge of fitting it as King with the same creativity, skill and fortitude that carried him in all the other difficulties in his life. And compared to some of those difficulties, learning to like formal gardens was no doubt easy!
Larner · 1 July 2010 · Chapter 2: By the Lake
I can certainly appreciate her sentiments! Have loved him since the early sixties myself, and was terribly jealous when she showed up to marry MY man! Heh! Beautiful moment of relaxation for the King!
Author's reply
Thank you, Larner... I wonder just how many women out there were very jealous when Arwen showed up and staked her claim! LOL I'm glad you enjoyed this, and thanks for the review. :)
Larner · 1 July 2010 · Chapter 1: Taming The Ranger
Time indeed for taming, but also perhaps for relaxing as well? I can certainly appreciate how he feels!
Author's reply
Hopefully he can find his way to relaxing in such a formal setting, yes! If anyone could, it'd be Aragorn. Thanks for the review!
Estelcontar · 30 June 2010 · Chapter 2: By the Lake
That was a most charming drabble, and a perfect birthday present. There is nothing I love more than blissful Aragorn and Arwen in Annúminas. And you did a great job of showing us that.
Author's reply
Thank you! I was so glad you enjoyed the drabble... can you imagine actually having that as a real present? *sigh* If only! Thanks for the review!
Estelcontar · 30 June 2010 · Chapter 1: Taming The Ranger
What a lovely drabble. And so like Aragorn to be gracious like that.
Author's reply
Thank you! I wanted to show that gracious side of Aragorn, the side of him that never wants to belittle anyone. I think that's such an important and often overlooked characteristic of his.
RS · 30 June 2010 · Chapter 2: By the Lake
This is very contagious, I'm very relaxed and getting drowsy myself! Its always a joy to read about Aragorn's (and Arwen's) time in Annuminas (those reads are very hard to find) and I've always pictured them to be this way...vacationland! Love this drabble! Keep these coming, as I love tidbits about "the days of the king".
Author's reply
Thanks, RS! I'm glad you liked this... it is pretty relaxing to read this, isn't it? :) I figure Annuminas was definitely a sort of "get-away", even though Aragorn still had to do the work of ruling both kingdoms. And yes, I'll have more tidbits (good word for these) as time goes on and the muse strikes. Thanks for the review!
Fiondil · 30 June 2010 · Chapter 1: Taming The Ranger
I love gardens and I've seen many different kinds in Europe and China. I can understand Aragorn's distaste for the straight lines and neat rows of the formal garden. Some of my favorite gardens are the country gardens that are full of wild flowers and herbs and don't have a straight line within them. Yet, at the same time, I can understand the gardener's pride in his neat formal garden (they do have their place after all), so I feel sorry for him, tring desparately to please this stranger-king and fearing what he might think or say. Aragorn at least is valiantly diplomatic here. *grin* This is a good start to the series, Cairistiona, and I look forward to seeing furter glimpses of Aragorn's early days as King Elessar.
Author's reply
Thank you, Fiondil! I'm like you... I can see how formal gardens have their place but I prefer something a bit more naturalistic and even unkempt. I imagine Aragorn would be more comfortable sitting on a bench reading a book in a Shire garden than in such a formal one, but yes, he has to be diplomatic. After all, he's the new kid! :) I'm glad you enjoyed this, and yes, there'll be more to come as the muse strikes. Thanks again for the review!
UTfrog · 30 June 2010 · Chapter 2: By the Lake
I love these; please keep them coming. I am especially fond of stories about the early days of Elessar's reign. Poor Aragorn had to make so many adjustments, but so did the folks around him.
Author's reply
Thank you, UTfrog! I'm glad you enjoyed these, and yes, I do plan on adding to this collection as the muse strikes. There's so much to explore in big and small ways to Aragorn's reign. Thanks for the review!
Fantasia · 30 June 2010 · Chapter 2: By the Lake
Peaceful, lovely...Can I go to that lake with my Elessar?
Author's reply
I don't see why not! :) I'm glad you enjoyed this peaceful little interlude in the King's life. Thanks for the review!
Ellynn · 30 June 2010 · Chapter 2: By the Lake
Awww, lovely. :)
Author's reply
Thank you, Ellynn! Glad you enjoyed this.
Mirach · 30 June 2010 · Chapter 2: By the Lake
What to say on that? Just: "mmmmmm..."
Author's reply
Glad you liked it, thank you!
Mirach · 30 June 2010 · Chapter 1: Taming The Ranger
Oh, I really understand Aragorn here! I use to spend a few weeks out of civilization each year, if I can, and when I return, everything looks so unnaturally straight and sharp...
Author's reply
I'm the same way... I feel somehow stifled in gardens that are too civilized, much as I can appreciate their beauty. I thought that Aragorn might have similar feelings, living as he did so long in the wild beauty of raw nature. Thanks for the review!
shirebound · 30 June 2010 · Chapter 2: By the Lake
Ohhh, what a happy piece! I just love it.
Author's reply
Thanks! I'd love to be sitting by that lake with them!
