Raksha The Demon · 27 April 2011 · Chapter 12: Swimming in the river

A good chapter, with interesting developments toward the end. The image of the large dragon trying to contain his inadvertent destruction of the garden is amusing despite the sorrow that seems to lie ahead...

shirebound · 24 April 2011 · Chapter 12: Swimming in the river

Dear Súlion! I really like him, and wish him peace and happiness in the future.

Author's reply

I'm so pleased you like Sulion. He might yet find happiness.

harrowcat · 15 March 2011 · Chapter 11: Let not the sun go down upon your wrath

I find that I like Sulion more and more.

curiouswombat · 26 January 2011 · Chapter 10: The heart and stomach of a king

I love the dragon's polite rebuke - but I fear the rather rude Queen of Gondor is still on the warpath...

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm pleased you enjoyed this. I fear Arwen will be on the warpath for a while yet!

Ellynn · 26 January 2011 · Chapter 10: The heart and stomach of a king

Awww *melts* Thank you! You already know how much I like this, but I had to comment here too. ;)

Author's reply

Larner · 25 January 2011 · Chapter 10: The heart and stomach of a king

well, you have to admit that the eldest resident in Gondor at the moment has just known a moment of comeuppance! Love it! Now--to see how she acts once she's back in the Citadel! Heh!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review, I'm so pleased you enjoyed this chapter.

shirebound · 25 January 2011 · Chapter 10: The heart and stomach of a king

"Leave me, Queen of Gondor;" the beast went on, "And do not come back until you have learned courtesy." He made a loud sniffing noise and turned his head away from her. Even Bilbo had better manners when confronted with Smaug! Arwen needs to brush up on her dragon lore.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. Arwen could certainly learn some manners from Bilbo!

Larner · 15 January 2011 · Chapter 9: Do you not fear this wild and furious woman?

Poor Aragorn! And dear Eldarion! Now--to convert Arwen! Heh!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.Aragorn must be very proud of his son.

shirebound · 15 January 2011 · Chapter 9: Do you not fear this wild and furious woman?

Arwen certainly has good reason to believe that Aragorn and Faramir are "dragon spelled", especially since her son is now involved. She might have to meet this dragon herself. :)

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased Arwen's reaction felt right for you.I'm sure she will meet the dragon.

Raksha The Demon · 15 January 2011 · Chapter 9: Do you not fear this wild and furious woman?

Good chapter - poor Aragorn; up between a rock and a hard place. I don't know which could be worse; the dragon's wrath or Arwen's...

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased you enjoyed the chapter. I like at present, Aragorn might prefer an angry dragon!

UTfrog · 27 December 2010 · Chapter 8: A little child shall lead them

I have been following this carefully, but see that I had not reviewed before which is a "shame on me." This is a bit different from most of your excellent stories. I am enjoying it. Do we get to see Arwen's reaction? I do not think she will be pleased. It is about time for Aragorn to realize the full power of Elrond's daughter. Men should never get their own way too often. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Best wishes for the New Year.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm delighted you are enjoying this story, I'm always pleased to hear when anyone likes what I write.I've just posted a new chapter in which you will see Arwen's reactions.I agree men should not get their own way too much!

Larner · 23 December 2010 · Chapter 8: A little child shall lead them

An excellent demonstration that the dragon is indeed to be respected and accepted. And Eldarion is jealous of the other boy? The nature of children!

Author's reply

Thank you, i'm pleased that you enjoyed the chapter.I think Eldarion now regards the dragon as HIS special friend!

Larner · 11 November 2010 · Chapter 7: The righteous are bold as a lion

I can certainly appreciate his feelings on the situation. Now--to show the populous that Sulion is indeed a gentle dragon and NOT like Smaug or others of Morgoth's creatures after all. And Eldarion will do superbly, I'm certain.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. Let us hope that Aragorn and Eldarion succeed.

Larner · 11 November 2010 · Chapter 6: Steeped to the lips in misery

The dragon has reason to not trust the folk of Gondor now! Now, we hope sincerely that Fung Nu recovers!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. You are quite right the poor dragon has ever reason not to like the Gondorians!

Siiw · 24 October 2010 · Chapter 6: Steeped to the lips in misery

I have enjoyed this story since its first chapter, and it is only growing more dramatic and interesting with each update. The dragonrider is obviously from the Far East, i have a feeling that he is more than familiar with the poppy, and that he would need a stronger dose than your average Gondorian.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I am so pleased to hear that you are enjoying my story.Yes, you are quite right that the Rider is from the Far East and you make a good point about the poppy.

curiouswombat · 24 October 2010 · Chapter 6: Steeped to the lips in misery

I have had time to sit and catch up at last - and I am really enjoying this story - it is a fascinating concept and, as always, beautifully written.

eagle · 30 September 2010 · Chapter 5: Like an unwelcome guest

I stumbled upon your story and I'm captivated. It's great. I hope there will be peace and will have the heart to come near the dragon. (I'n not a native speaker,so please excuse the mistakes.)

Larner · 6 September 2010 · Chapter 5: Like an unwelcome guest

At least Fu Nung is now in the best of hands as Aragorn takes over his care! Poor guy!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. Fu Nung certainly could not be in better hands!

Raksha The Demon · 5 August 2010 · Chapter 4: I don't believe a word of it

Of course, poor Aragorn is barely believed by Arwen, who doesn't hold with even the idea of a friendly dragon - understandable in Earendil's granddaughter. And Faramir's family thinks he's nuts! Good chapter! Tolerance does not come easily, even to the wise.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. No,it is not surprising Arwen does not believe in friendly dragons.I guess I'd feel the same if someone told me they had met a friendly tiger !

Larner · 4 August 2010 · Chapter 4: I don't believe a word of it

And why to I suspect that matters will come to a head long before Eldarion becomes a grandparent, eh? Heh! Poor Arwen and Eowyn will hopefully have their own skepticism dealt with properly, and soon. And glad that Faramir is recovering so swiftly.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. Yes, you guess rightly, Gondor will have to deal with dragons before Eldarion is much older!Faramir is lucky to have Aragorn at hand to help him recover swiftly.

Larner · 8 June 2010 · Chapter 3: So long,farewell

In this is Faramir proving more wise than his friend the King. Let Aragorn follow Faramir's advice--and soon! Now--to find out what became of his rider!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I thought it would be interesting to write a story in which Faramir proves the wiser of the two!All will eventually be revealed.

Larner · 9 May 2010 · Chapter 2: Two Sides to every Question

Now, that will be distressing to their lady wives, seeing the horses return without them. And Eastern dragons were always thought to be lucky to know, unlike Western ones. Glad a few escaped Morgoth's influence!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I fear our heroes wives have much to endure, none of which there accident prone husbands intend! I admit I only researched Eastern dragons after reading Naomi Norvik's enjoyable stories.

Raksha The Demon · 8 May 2010 · Chapter 2: Two Sides to every Question

Love the dragon's dialogue, especially with Aragorn, and the reference to Anduril, Flame of the West, as a pin. It's rather humbling, as well as humorous, for Aragorn to meet someone not in awe of him.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased you enjoyed Aragorn's conversation with the dragon. It is maybe good for Aragorn to meet his match sometimes!THanks again for all your help.

harrowcat · 24 April 2010 · Chapter 1: You've Got to be Carefully Taught

I agree. Happy St. Georg's day for yesterday! Intriguing start. looking forward to more.

Raksha The Demon · 23 April 2010 · Chapter 1: You've Got to be Carefully Taught

Good to see the story here! Our heroes really have bad luck; seeking shelter from the storm only to end up meeting something much bigger and more dangerous than a friendly kitty. And it's definitely not happy to meet them!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I think Aragorn and Faramir must be the unluckiest duo ever in finding places to shelter!
