Wonderful letter Pippin was able to get out eventually! Maybe you have already answered this somewhere but why was Diamond never taught to read? Was it just that they really couldn't afford a tutor after all the medical attention she needed? Then did no one just take the time to teach her? I'm looking forward to more, especially when they are able to see each other again! Thank you for such a fun story!

It was basically what you said, about them not having the money to spend on a tutor (I suppose they thought it wasn't a necessity that all their children learn to read). Thanks for reading, I'm glad you're enjoying this!

If only Faramir could see him now. :) I bet if someone had told the Son of the Steward a mere month before the War of the Ring, that he would be teaching a hobbit the concepts of writing love letters, he would have laughed and told them to find a Healer. :) You know, though, I really wish you would update quicker. Hehe, I'm sure Faramir would be quite amused if he knew (and he'll probably find out eventually). I'm sorry it takes me so long to update, but you know, quality over quantity. If I tried to write so that I could update every day, it'd be a mess. It's better this way, trust me. ;)

Pippin did very well with his letter. He said everything he had to say beautifully. I'm so glad Diamond didn't have to ask for help with reading it and give their secret away. More soon please, this is such a sweet little love story.

I've been away for a while and just now got the chance to get caught up again on this story--what a treat. I love the way you're drawing everything out, making things not go as smoothly or perfect as they could, the disapproval of the parents, the backstory on Diamond's condition, etc. It's very interesting to read and I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out. As always, my favorite part is how you manage to keep Pippin's sense of humor and the way he talks--that makes it feel very in character and real to me and isn't easy to do. Also, have to say I love Pippin musing over what Faramir would say in his situation--you never really see the closeness of those two characters portrayed in stories, but I imagine it must have been there, based off their past and the fact that Pippin names his son after him and all. Anyway, sorry to babble, but I'm really loving this story and can't wait for the next chapter. Good Job! :)

Wow, thank you! It's always great to hear from authors who write the characters so wonderfully themselves. I'm very glad you're liking how I'm writing Pippin - I wanted to show him as being older (since he's of age now), but as still being the same Fool of a Took we all know and love. Fan fic romances can be difficult in showing that, so I'm glad you think I'm doing a good job. :) And yeah, I wanted to show a bit of the relationship between Pippin and Faramir (well, as much as I could of it, anyway, seeing as how Faramir's doesn't have an active role in the story). The "what would Faramir do?" thing will probably come into play a few more times throughout the story. ;) Thanks again for your feedback!

Yeah, sorry there's so much time between updates... school has been keeping me really busy lately, so I can usually only write a good amount on the weekends. I'm glad you liked the last chapter! :)

A very pivotal point in your story, yes? You did a wonderful job with it! Poor, Diamond and how terrible of her paretns to make her feel like she wouldn't make a good wife because of her condition!! I liked Pippin's thoughts when she had fainted about a hero waking someone with a kiss! and how he thought Diamonds lips were "saccred territory" taht was beautiful! This is decidedly wonderful. I just love your writing technique and how you portray Pippin. This is definately a new side to him. Diamond is a sweetheart. I had read this a while ago on ff.net and then for some reason I couldn't find it again! I really hate it when that happens! Anyway I'm glad I was able to "find" it again though I guess it was really never "lost". It is a very sweet little story! I loved how Diamond defended Pippin in the beginning to her cousin. So nice of her when she herself had barely met him! Wow! Why don't Diamonds parents want her to marry? Is there a problem or is because she is so younge? Looking forward to finding out more, thank you!!
