Yes, definitely the best one so far, very sad, consumed by both Light and Dark. Love the ending. *bows to Frodo myself*
Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Author's reply
Thank you so, Antane. And I bet quite a few folks bowed to Frodo, and that he found it embarrassing at first but finally learned to live with it. But now is but the beginning of his healing.

Wow! Just wow!
Author's reply
Oh, thank you so, Dreamflower. It was rather difficult getting all the words worked into it, but was worth it in the end.

The second paragraph was very poetic. Though all in all, it is sad to know how much the Ring influenced Frodo's life, and not in a good way.
Author's reply
Thank you so, Kitty. It's getting harder to work all the words in, so to find this one has yet managed to move so many is heartening. Yes, the Ring robbed Frodo of much; yet in the end he found a proper compensation for what he sacrificed.

I've been enjoying all these ficlets (they make for a wonderful advent calendar indeed), but this is my favourite so far!
Author's reply
Thank you so! I don't like the inclusion of "monkey" in this one, but could think of no other way to work it into this one. And I'm glad this is your favorite so far. I'm honored. Now--if I can keep it up!

Nice to see the brothers together - and Boromir acknowledging Faramir's talents ;-)
Author's reply
This one was fun to write. And I think Boromir honored his brother's abilities! Heh!

Of course Aragorn knew *sigh* He's the healer and much more experienced than Pippin, who was still not of age back then and probably still thought Frodo would recover.
Author's reply
Yes, of course he knew. It must have been very difficult to say goodbye, knowing this would most likely be the last time he would see his beloved friend.

Real neat, Larner. I loved the imagery and the last line was the clincher. BTW 'trued'... did you mean 'tuned'? Just wondering.
Author's reply
I am glad you think so.
As for "trued" or "tuned"--I think it comes to the same thing either way, don't you? But I shall consider....
Thanks, Fiondil.

Poetic in its imagery. I think this might be the most skillful one yet.
Author's reply
Thanks so much, Lindelea. Again, this was one that definitely took more thought than the others have required.

I liked this very much, great use of the prompts.I fear I've given up as a bad job.I always love to see Aragorn and his children.

Thank you so, Linda. Sorry you've decided to go no further. It's proving increasingly difficult, as I've said repeatedly.

And I thought it was Boromir ;-)
Once again: It looks so easy when it's finished, but I'm certain it is not!
Author's reply
It was fun to turn things about this time and make Faramir the one who possibly got into trouble. It wasn't too difficult, but wasn't completely easy, either.
Thanks so!

Oh, that would have been difficult then, if he had known he was gazing upon that dear face for the last time but as he told Arwen on his deathbed about his hope for something else beyond the Circles of the World, he could hope he would see his small brother again.
Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Author's reply
Yes, it must have been difficult indeed. He owed Frodo so very much, including his marriage; to find himself knowing he'd not see Frodo again ever must have been very difficult.
Thanks so, Antane.

Good heavens! How many words are you up to, now? And having to use so many of them must make keeping the word count on your drabble hard!
Yet so far, each and every one has been coherent and likely!
And I thought the alphabet challenge was hard!
Author's reply
Actually, figuring out the count of how many word prompts there are included is fairly easy--look at either the day of the month or the chapter number, and there it is! And this is going to get nothing but more difficult as it goes! Dwim's responses she's setting in the slum region of Pelargir she's calling the Bottle, and she'd getting VERY ingenious! Today she had everyone three sheets to the wind and sent to the lock holes!
Dean Maia of Este is doing a Wonder Woman crossover that's most entertaining, and Nancylea has created a monkey named Ricci (is making it much easier to include "monkey" in her drabbles).
Thanks so, Dreamflower. It's proving fun! And I'm doing my best to keep them coherent! I still don't know how long I'll be able to limit them to a hundred fifty words each, though.

That's a nice little reminder of 'Lesser Ring' - still the one of your stories I've re-read the most, besides 'The Kings Commission'. Glad to see Aragorn so happy about his success - though I am sure the proud parents were even happier :)

I'm honored you like them both, Kitty. And I like revisiting that journey to Harad myself from time to time.
Thanks so, Kitty!

Simple looking decisions can have far-reaching effects. Mind you, if I was there I think that I would be worrying about insects that might be crawling through the hole in the tent rather than watching the moon! :)
Author's reply
Oh, but it's fun to pretend that the insects will respect this visitor, although he might well be sporting a few mosquito bites the next morning! Heh!
