Indeed! At least he has recovered now, and reconsiled with Faramir and Arwen.

Fimbrethil · 21 June 2025 · Chapter 3: Physician, heal thyself

Woweee! Angry/worried/flustered/sick Aragorn is no fun at all! And poor Boromir!…and Faramir too, of course. At least he has had it already. I am sure they liked their three weeks off of lessons and in the private garden.

shirebound · 5 October 2012 · Chapter 4: The last Straw

I'm so glad you mentioned this story to Febobe in your comments to my post. I enjoyed reading it again, especially the apology to poor Faramir at the end.

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed rereading this story.

Larner · 28 December 2008 · Chapter 4: The last Straw

Ah, at last he managed to be thoughtful toward Arwen and Faramir. But he's not all that pleasant to be around when he's ill! Poor Faramir--to find he prefers a trade embassy to being with Aragorn for the afternoon! And that chess match was a pure disaster! I can so see my own husband trying to play both sides of the chessboard like that! Heh! I'd have thrown the board and its pieces at him with a will! Heh!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review,I'm glad I don't have to look after Aragorn when he is ill!It takes a lot for Faramir to prefer a meeting to spending time with his beloved King!I'm pleased the chess scene brought back memories for you.

harrowcat · 20 December 2008 · Chapter 4: The last Straw

I had to laugh at the last line. My dad was just complaining that people in prison have an easier time than patients. At least they get let out for an hour to exercise.

Many thanks for your much appreciated review,I'm delighted you enjoyed my story and it made you laugh.I hope your dad is soon out of hospital and on the mend.

inzilbeth · 20 December 2008 · Chapter 4: The last Straw

I'm very relieved to see Aragorn on the mend and returning to his old self, as no doubt is Faramir. A very funny tale, Linda; well done

Dreamflower · 19 December 2008 · Chapter 4: The last Straw

Oh, he truly was a TERRIBLE patient! Cross, cranky, irritable, unreasonable--yep, yep. This was funny--his insistence that a warrior could *not* be having such an infantile illness was quite hilarious, as I am sure that deep down he knew better; he just did not feel up to admitting it!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review,I'm delighted you enjoyed my story and it made you laugh. I was inspired by a scene in Star Trek TNG where Worf gets a Klingon form of measles and complains it is not a warrior's illness!I agree with you about Aragorn.

Estelcontar · 19 December 2008 · Chapter 4: The last Straw

That was a most delightful story, Linda, and very funny too. Aragorn was indeed a terrible patient, wasn't he? I don't know how Arwen and Faramir managed to put up with him. It just goes to show that no one, not even Aragorn, is perfect. Well done.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review,I'm delighted you enjoyed my story.I think Arwen and Faramir each deserve a medal!

Raksha The Demon · 19 December 2008 · Chapter 4: The last Straw

This chapter is the best yet, hilarious and also touching, a fitting capstone to an outstanding story. And I have to laugh at the scene of Aragorn managing Faramir and Arwen's chess game, driving these patient souls to anger - it was very funny.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review, my first for this chapter here..I'm delighted you enjoyed the story. It was a great idea of yours, thank you!

Celeritas · 16 December 2008 · Chapter 3: Physician, heal thyself

Aragorn is so funny in this story! I especially liked his griping about the healer's cold hands and correcting history at Faramir. It's rather nice to know that deep down inside the King of the Reunited Realms is really just a big baby...

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm pleased you are enjoying seeing that the King is such a baby when it comes to doctors!

Inzilbeth · 11 December 2008 · Chapter 3: Physician, heal thyself

Oh Aragorn is behaving disgracefully. His list of complaints about the former rulers of Gondor though was hilarious as was the patience of his suffering Steward.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased the chapter amused you!

Cairistiona · 10 December 2008 · Chapter 3: Physician, heal thyself

Just catching up with this story ... I would say poor Aragorn but he's behaving so petulantly I'm tempted to slap him upside the head and tell him to straighten up and quit acting the tyrant! I'm just glad I don't have to nurse him, can you tell? LOL Fun story... I'm looking forward to more.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased you are enjoying the story.I wouldn't like to nurse Aragorn either LOL!

Virtuella · 10 December 2008 · Chapter 3: Physician, heal thyself

What a delightful story this is! I completely adore your sense of humour. Who else would dare to be so respectless about Aragorn, but would still manage to remain so affectionate?

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm delighted you are enjoying my story. The credit for the idea must go to Raksha.I do love Aragorn, but would not like to have to look after him when he is ill!

Laikwalâssê · 10 December 2008 · Chapter 3: Physician, heal thyself

Aragorn ! - shame on you. Your son is acting much more mature than you. Poor Faramir and Arwen. I admire their patience. The answers from the attending healer were hilarious. Lovely written. Please more. Thank you. Lai.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm delighted you are enjoying this.Aedred is recurring OC of mine.Coming from Rohan,he is less in awe of Aragorn than the Gondorians. They are quite good friends usually, but not when he is Aragorn's healer!I fear our King is the world's worst patient,an idea of Raksha's!

Raksha The Demon · 10 December 2008 · Chapter 3: Physician, heal thyself

Poor Faramir; he's stuck not only running Gondor but babysitting its King as well. Physician, heal thyself indeed; Aragorn is definitely not a model patient!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. If Faramir wants to get his own back he will have to be as difficult next time he is ill!Any volunteers to look after Aragorn?

harrowcat · 9 December 2008 · Chapter 3: Physician, heal thyself

ooh this wonderful healer, as fretful as a over-tired child! Poor Faramir and Arwen.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I don't know who we should pity the most of these three!

6336 · 9 December 2008 · Chapter 3: Physician, heal thyself

Men make bad patients, Doctors make even worse ones! Not much you can do, keep him comfortable and feed him lots of fluid and try to stop him from scratching, mittens would be good! Poor Arwen and Faramir, they are in for a long haul! More please, Lynda

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. You are right on both counts! I feel as sorry for Arwen and Faramir as I do for Aragorn!

Larner · 9 December 2008 · Chapter 3: Physician, heal thyself

'Tis said that doctors make the worst patients, and this is certainly true of Aragorn! He's acting totally spoiled, of course--more petulant than a child, really, and demanding of company and attention. He'd be ashamed were his son to act so! Heh!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. It would serve Aragorn right if adult Eldarion got measles or something in time to come and proved just like daddy!Aragorn truly iss a dreadful patient! The idea was Raksha's!

Celeritas · 5 December 2008 · Chapter 2: Out, d***ed spot! out, I say!

Hee hee hee! Aragorn's got the chicken pox! This fic did make me realize something: since Aragorn was raised by elves, who don't get ill, it'd make a lot of sense for him not to get exposed to a good many of the diseases that most people deal with in their childhood. I look forward to seeing how tough a patient he will be in time to come--right now he's just in the "denial" stages (at least as far as chicken pox goes). : D And the title fits PERFECTLY! lol!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. You are spot on,Aragorn was too isolated as a child to have the usual ailments.I fear he is going to be a very tough patient! I'm pleased you like the title.

harrowcat · 4 December 2008 · Chapter 2: Out, d***ed spot! out, I say!

The timing on this is great Linda. My brother has the 'flu'. In other words a streaming cold to you or I and he sounds just like Aragorn! :)

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. Many always think every cold is "flu".I'm glad I got the timing right!

Larner · 4 December 2008 · Chapter 2: Out, d***ed spot! out, I say!

A grownup with a children's ailment is always amusing! I only hope he doesn't end up with any of the other problems likely to come with it! Heh! Silly man!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I promise not to torment him too much!

Dreamflower · 3 December 2008 · Chapter 2: Out, d***ed spot! out, I say!

LOL! Of course he would never have been exposed as a child to any other children's diseases! *shakes head* Of course medical people are usually the world's worst patients...

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. That is Aragorn's problem, he was never with children when young.I'm pleased it made you smile.Aragorn is proving typical of medical people!

6336 · 3 December 2008 · Chapter 2: Out, d***ed spot! out, I say!

LOL!!! Oh I know it is wrong to laugh at him and Chicken Pox is not a minor ailment for an adult, but it is funny! I expect being isolated in Imlardris as he was, he was not exposed to a lot of childhood ailments, I wonder what is next, not Mumps I hope, that can cause sewllings in most inapropriate places, considering he and Arwen plan on having more children! More please, Lynda

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.Don't worry he won't get mumps as I hope they will have more children too and have already written stories about their next one!I had chickenpox myself at the ripe old age of 39,so know it is no fun for Aragorn.

inzilbeth · 3 December 2008 · Chapter 2: Out, d***ed spot! out, I say!

Oh dear, chickpox isn't going to go down well at all. I foresee lots more problems for the two carers before this clears up!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. You are quite right.I don't envy Arwen and Faramir at all!

Laikwalâssê · 3 December 2008 · Chapter 2: Out, d***ed spot! out, I say!

Oh gods, Arwen is right - Aragorn really acts like a child *g*. I think she and Faramir are in for a hard time. Man and most of all healers are the worst patients. Like this story very much and I´m eager to see how our "poor and near dying" King will overcome this. Thank you Lai.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review > I agree poor Arwen and faramir are in for a very hard time.I'm delighted you are enjoying the story.
