Lovely! Isumbras had no idea that his sister would continue to incline toward her love, and now Buckland will be twice as blessed, for the Oldbuck/Brandybucks will continue to interbreed with the Tooks, and all will in time be in amity again soon enough.
Nice telling, Nancy. Thank you.

Ah, the Stoor in him calls, and he crosses the river, and finds his real home.

So, in your view this was how the Thainship was wrested from Bucca's more direct descendants? Nice. And the river speak to him--good!

What an intriguing set of vignettes! I too have often been fascinated by the decision of Gorhendad to colonize Buckland, and change the family name--you tell us just enough to understand the motives. But I find myself wondering about the untold parts! What happened between Gorhendad and his friend Isumbras? How did he supposedly disgrace the family? Very very interesting!
