Agape4Gondor · 10 June 2008 · Chapter 6: Becoming Like Them
Any with any compassion had to just about die at this scene... You capture it very well.... But all of you are are lost to me in this unreality - typo?

Any with any compassion had to just about die at this scene... You capture it very well.... But all of you are are lost to me in this unreality - typo?
Agape4Gondor · 10 June 2008 · Chapter 5: Fading Away
It must have been hideous for Sam - first to 'lose' his Master and friend as Frodo puts the Ring on - and then to know that, in the end, he might lose him altogether....
Agape4Gondor · 10 June 2008 · Chapter 4: The Glory of Shadows
Wow - the hands of the king - I love you bringing that in! It gives such meaning to the Houses of Healing chapter! One little quibble - should my blad burn be my blade burns? Excellent poem.
Agape4Gondor · 10 June 2008 · Chapter 3: Put It On
Yikes! *shivers* Incredibly well done... I love the last line.
Agape4Gondor · 10 June 2008 · Chapter 2: Dark Under the Dell
Oh my goodness! Utter terror! You've captured it well. What I love most is the 3rd stanza... not only for the words, but for the formatting... it carries the 'feel' of the poem into new depths! Great job!
Agape4Gondor · 10 June 2008 · Chapter 1: Hollow
As always, your poetry astounds me! The sense of evil, doom, and utter darkness pervades. Very well done!
Larner · 9 June 2008 · Chapter 6: Becoming Like Them
The words crumble away even as he sees himself boing to ice's ash. Excellent series, Primsong.
Larner · 9 June 2008 · Chapter 5: Fading Away
Excellent contrast of the two views of what is happening.
Larner · 9 June 2008 · Chapter 4: The Glory of Shadows
Angmar had little understanding of what strength this odd mortal held, and how the Ring unwittingly aided him to defy the will of Mordor.
Larner · 9 June 2008 · Chapter 3: Put It On
And It took him....
Larner · 9 June 2008 · Chapter 2: Dark Under the Dell
Wonderful expression of Frodo's feelings here. It did take him here, after all--almost fully.
Larner · 9 June 2008 · Chapter 1: Hollow
The scene is well set. A grim foreboding has been shown.
Dreamflower · 9 June 2008 · Chapter 6: Becoming Like Them
And yet...he didn't. Seventeen days he resisted. Grant that I may have Courage beyond duty, valor beyond fear; To die fighting, to spend my last fading strength Striking out at sure death Even as it closes in to cage me. This prayer of his was answered, beyond anyone's expectations. Yet here, in this time, he takes a wound that will never heal. These poems together are stunning and powerful, Primsong! Thank you for sharing them!
Dreamflower · 9 June 2008 · Chapter 5: Fading Away
And now you pull away from Frodo's POV to Sam's and Aragorn's. Their worry is heartbreaking. And once more the very subtle reference to Aragorn: Where will we find our hope?
Dreamflower · 9 June 2008 · Chapter 4: The Glory of Shadows
The hands of the king are the hands of death. That is such a brilliant use of that phrase, turning the original context on its head and so bringing out the contrast: Aragorn was the opposite of Angmar in every way! And "our treasure" is shuddersome in this context...
Dreamflower · 9 June 2008 · Chapter 3: Put It On
Wow! What a perfect use of the words "put it on" as his defiant "NO" is inexorably overridden by a will stronger than his...
Dreamflower · 9 June 2008 · Chapter 2: Dark Under the Dell
You have captured his terror here, and his defiance, even as he's beginning to feel that defying is useless...
Dreamflower · 9 June 2008 · Chapter 1: Hollow
Oh, this evokes the horror of the place so very well! I especially like these lines: Fading sun In setting, pulling down The last shredded remnants of peace. Shivering innocence curls around its impotent fire, as we see the darkness falling there...
