Pearl Took · 18 November 2008 · Chapter 6: "Daisies and Dreams"

A wonderfully insightful chapter, Cathleen! So much is going on for poor Pippin and his family. I love how much they care for each other. I also really like Pippin's question, that he was thinking about how the other person feels. That is very mature of him. As always, eagerly awaiting more :-) MEWD!!

This tale is proving to be very insightful for me as well, and I'm having great fun writing it. Thank you so much for your feedback, Pearl, and your continued input! *Hugs*

Golden · 18 November 2008 · Chapter 6: "Daisies and Dreams"

Ohhhhhh...what have I spotted here? :D A new Chapter! Its great! This dream Pip is having is truly disturbing. Looking forward to the conversation with his dad and also to luncheon, when Merry and Berilac are coming. Pip truly needs some lads around the farm. Maybe they can answer a few questions too... talking with a parent about such things is always harder than with peers. Waiting unpa...uhm..I meant very paitently ( like always) for more. *g*

Surprise! Yes, I *know* you're waiting impatiently hon, and that keeps me motivated. This was a wonderful bunny you came up with and I hope my story continues to do it justice. Glad you liked it! *Hugs You*

Andrea · 18 November 2008 · Chapter 6: "Daisies and Dreams"

I'm right proud of Pippin because he saved little Daisy's life *and* found the courage to voice his questions. But then there was that dream again! A frightening dream. It must be really disturbing to know that an accident will happen, but you don't know where or when or to whom. I'm just relieved that Pippin decided to speak to his father about it. He might be able to help him "decipher" his dream and to give him some peace. He really needs it at the moment.

Author's reply

Hi Andrea, and thanks very much for continuing to follow my tale! I think the dream and the Sight will hold some great surprises for both Pip and his father in the future. Hope you continue to enjoy. And you know what? There are times when reader's comments such as yours give me a thought or two for something additional in the story that I hadn't thought of. FB is indeed a valuable thing - thank you! *Hugs*

Larner · 18 November 2008 · Chapter 6: "Daisies and Dreams"

Oh, how perfect a chapter, and again, how realistic! He's starting to experience the Sight and with a vengeance, and doesn't know how to deal with it, and particularly with this dream of the river. We know rivers will play a part in his future, and that one will one day cut across his relationship with Frodo, who will never be the same, having crossed that river to meet his responsibilities. He will leave Boromir, dyng, by that river. And it will be within sight of that river he will become a man of any people, even if in his own folk's reckoning he isn't of age yet. Marvelous working in of the two songs!

Author's reply

A very interesting bit of insight, Bonnie, and I agree. Rivers really do play a huge symbolic role and you'll see more of that symbolism, as well as other things as the story continues. As ever, thank you so much for reading and commenting - it keeps me plugging away!! *Grin* *Hugs*

Larner · 6 September 2008 · Chapter 5: "A Plainspoken Discussion"

I bet he's even more confuzzled now, poor lad! Now, who's in trouble? Hurry, guys!

Author's reply

Hee, but it *was* a fun discussion, wasn't it?! You'll know soon who's in trouble and what it's going to mean to Pippin.

Andrea · 5 September 2008 · Chapter 5: "A Plainspoken Discussion"

Well, the most urgent question I have right now is, who cried out for help? As Pearl already pointed out, the father-son-discussion was very well done. Of course it's embarrassing, it always is. And I can very well imagine them struggling for the "right" words. Paladin's little stunt was very entertaining and helped Pippin to relax a bit, but only for a short time ;-) So, now he knows a bit more about "those" dreams, but concerning the others only Frodo can help him. He even might have some good advice for lads' problems (as does Merry). I'm looking forward to that conversation.

Author's reply

I'm looking forward to it too. Pippin will soon have the opportunity to learn from his older cousin.

Pearl Took · 5 September 2008 · Chapter 5: "A Plainspoken Discussion"

Well done! *applause* This is a difficult discussion to have and I think a difficult one to write about. You handled it all very well. I love Paladin's stunt! And I could clearly see the poor distraught lad hanging on to that slippery rope for dear life - LOL! At least Pip got some reassurance about some of his worries.

Author's reply

*Hugs* Thank you hon! And, thank you also for helping me think out and create Paladin's stunt!!

Golden · 4 September 2008 · Chapter 5: "A Plainspoken Discussion"

*L* Poor Pip, poor Paladin. But I guess this kind of talk comes to every parent and child one day. They did quite well. And Paladins story was funny too! *giggles* I hope the next Chapter comes soon. Can´t wait to know who the person in need of help is and what happened. Great Chapter! Golden

Author's reply

Glad you liked it! *Big Hug*

Golden · 4 September 2008 · Chapter 4: "Laying Plans..."

Very good job! Growing up indeed is not easy! All the new feelings and thoughts that arrive.... Looking forward to the next Chapter too! Golden

Author's reply

Thanks sweetie, I'm so very pleased to know you're enjoying it!

Pearl Took · 1 September 2008 · Chapter 4: "Laying Plans..."

Growing up is hard to do. I hope Pippin and Paladin have a good talk, I know those can be awkward. Looking forward to more of this intriguing story :-)

Author's reply

Thanks so much, Pearl! Yes, I can't think of a more awkward talk between parent and child, but I know Pad can pull it off!

Larner · 30 August 2008 · Chapter 4: "Laying Plans..."

Poor lad--growing up can be so bothersome! At least he's now willing to talk to Frodo!

Author's reply

Yes, and I think that will prove to be a very interesting conversation!

Larner · 30 August 2008 · Chapter 3: "Insight"

My prescient dreams started when I was still a child, mostly just wisps of conversations. I appreciate what Frodo says of it being a responsibility. Too bad Pippin isn't ready yet to accept it.

Author's reply

I think Frodo will help him to do so, in time. Thanks so much for your comments!

Andrea · 30 August 2008 · Chapter 4: "Laying Plans..."

Dear cathleen, I've been following this story from the beginning on, and I think it's getting more and more interesting with every new posted chapter. Pippin is growing up and that would be confusing enough for a lad, may he be hobbit or mankind. But that's not all. The "Took Sight" is also awakening and disturbing his dreams. Maybe the talk with his father will help Pippin to understand some things better, but I would say that a visit to Bag End and a talk with Frodo would be much better! I'm looking forward to reading more!

Author's reply

Andrea, I want to thank you so much for continuing to read my stories and comment on them. I'm very pleased to hear you're enjoying this. I'm having fun writing it! More soon, most definitely!!

Larner · 30 August 2008 · Chapter 2: "Eyes of Blue, Eyes of Fire"

The contrast between the two pairs of eyes couldn't be greater. And the foreshadowing does appear to be remarkably murky. Poor lad--doesn't understand it himself, so how's he to explain to others? Heh!

Author's reply

Thanks Larner! Pippin's self-discovery is the best part of this journey!

Larner · 29 August 2008 · Chapter 1: "Out of the Shadows"

I think the dream images are even more vivid than I remember them from my earlier reading of this chapter, Cathleen. Poor Pippin, trying to deal with that kind of prescient dream. Balrog, Denethor's hands withering in the flames, and looking into the Palantir all seem to be represented here, as well, perhaps, as the burning in the lower levels of the city.

Author's reply

And there will be more foreshadowing as we go. Thank you, I'm glad they came through as vivid. It was fun to think about all the things to come and then write about them.

Golden · 23 February 2008 · Chapter 3: "Insight"

I just read this story again and still love it. I did not find Pip too young before, but that age is alright too. I hope you continue soon, cause I really wanna know how it goes on with Pip´s Took sight and all. So please post a new Chapter soon. Also I hope you get some more reviews for your story and wonder about why you havn´t yet. There surly is some sexuality inside the story, but I personally like it, when also the "innocent" Hobbits are allowed to discover things like that. And you write it very realistic. Well, not that I know how it feels to be a growing up lad.. *L*...but I think, what you write sounds realistic. And of the Took Sight I am fond anyway. I hope we get also to meet Aunty Pringle again. So don´t wait too long with the next Chapter! :)

Author's reply

Hi Golden! I'm so glad to hear you like the bit of a rewrite I've done, and are still enjoying the story. Yes, I think it's pretty cool myself to get a peek inside a young, "seemingly so innocent all the time" hobbit lad's mind and experience the other things that might be going on. Heh, after all, Pippin *did* have a son, so he must have learned about the birds and bees somewhere along the way, right?! The Tookish "Sight" has always intrigued me too, and I know I'm going to have great fun exploring it as this story moves along. As for the whole review thing you and Pearl have mentioned...yeah, as writers we all know how motivating they can be, and how much fun to read, as well as the tidbits of ideas from readers that may be used in forwarding the story. But, even though it would be *very* nice to hear what other readers are thinking, I am still gratified by the substantial amount of hits this story has received - not only for the first go round, but even more so for the second! Ah well! The main thing for me is knowing that I believe in this tale and will continue it through to the end. I want to find out what's going to happen as much as you do!! And thank you again for inspiring it, and for your continued support, both mean a great deal to me.

Pearl Took · 21 February 2008 · Chapter 1: "Out of the Shadows"

Wow!! Very powerful chapter Cathleen! This packs a much stronger punch than it did before, so the rewrite was well worth the effort. I can't imagine why no one else has commented as this is a fantastic beginning chapter. I'm off to read the rest :-)

Author's reply

Thanks, Pearl! Your support as always, is so much appreciated. I *am* rather pleased with the way this story is coming along and although I've experienced a bit of a delay lately due to illness and other matters, I hope to get it rolling swiftly again, and soon. I'm very pleased of course, to know that you're still reading and enjoying it - thank you for taking a moment to let me know!
