ROTFLMBO!! Get him, Frodo! Whack Aragorn up the side of his head for me. The hobbit banter was most excellent and very entertaining as always -- especially Merry trying to tell Frodo he's entirely too lazy! Loved it!
Author's reply
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed this one. Aragorn is in big trouble with Mr. Baggins just now. Merry might have given Frodo a rough time with all of his teasing but it's nothing compared to what Frodo will give Aragorn! But, that's another story. hehehe

As always, priceless! Poor Frodo--and poor Aragorn--no gloves? Hehehehehehe! How long will it take for Frodo to ream out poor Strider, do you think?
Author's reply
I think Strider is in for a very long lecture on the subject of gloves. Between having blisters himself, taking guff from Merry and having to listen to Pippin prattle on about it all, I think Frodo is ready to let someone have it but good! hehehe

lol~! I love your stories for its hobbit bantering and your style is so effective with its dialogue.
“Hush, Merry. If Sam hears you then he won’t sleep a wink tonight for worrying.”
lol! It's funny that Merry, Pippin and Frodo have blisters... these gentle hobbits are not used to rowing boats and doing work that stresses the hands! =)
Great job~ I smiled and giggled a lot. :D
Author's reply
Aww, thanks for all of the smiling, giggling and reviewing. I appreciate it. Glad you liked the dialogue and thanks for reading!

LOL!!! I remember that plot bunny!
“You have to do something in order to get blisters, Pip. Sleeping doesn’t usually give one blisters.”
That was a good one, and it hit home!
I wonder whose line it is, Frodo's or Merry's. I think both might be possible ;-)
Last but not least: I always enjoy it when Frodo gives Strider a lecture! He can be *very* stern!
Author's reply
Shirebound has some of the best plot bunnies, doesn't she? Oh, and that was Merry's line. Hard to tell sometimes without the 'he said,' part of the story isn't it? Frodo might well have said it if Merry had given him the chance though.
I think Frodo will be very, very stern with Strider. hehehe

*snicker* Had never known that one can argue about blisters that much! And the question who is doing which physical work left me laughing - particulerly when Pip discovered *Merry's* blisters!
Oh, you know, now I pity Aragorn, Boromir, Legolas and Gimli for having to put up with these endless arguments for so long! They didn't deserve that!
Author's reply
Blisters are a touchy subject. hehehe
I hope Aragorn, Boromir, Legolas and Gimli don't have to put up with too much of this either. It will be a very long Quest indeed if they do!
Thanks for reviewing!

I think I've said it before, but I'll definitely say it again-I heart your Frodo! As an example I hold up-
“Do not elbow me in the ribs again, Meriadoc or I shall show you exactly what sort of physical condition I am in by wrestling you to the ground
Oh yes, and he could too, I'm sure :D Merry hasn't had any Entdraught yet, after all.
“You have to do something in order to get blisters, Pip. Sleeping doesn’t usually give one blisters.”
“I was on watch until we left in the boats this morning and so naturally I slept a wee bit. Boromir didn’t seem to mind.”
“Boromir was probably relieved that you weren’t trying to fish from the moving boat again like yesterday.”
I know that's a bit overboard on the quoting, but it was just so funny! I love Pippin. Pippin is remarkably like me (not entirely a good thing)... And the gloves thing at the end was priceless :D:D Thanks for this excellent story!
Author's reply
I'm so glad you like my version of Frodo. Someone has to keep Merry and Pippin and Strider in line on this 'mission, Quest, thing.' Sam can't do everything. Thank you for quoting the bits you liked. It's always fun to know what people enjoyed. Thanks for reading, Pip, er, EstellaB.

If I didn't know first-hand how painful blisters can be I would have been snickering all the way through this. As it is I was smiling hard! But I blame Sam for forgetting gloves for Frodo at least. After all his pack was stuffed with all the other little things that his Master might need!
Author's reply
Yes, poor Sam just didn't have room for Mr. Frodo's gloves what with everything else he brought. But I doubt that Strider will get off that easy! He was supposed to be the all-knowing guide on this adventure and he should have had gloves for everyone. hehehe
Smiling hard? That could give you TMJ and I hear that's worse than blisters. Be careful, harrowcat.

Delightful! This was absolutely delightful. All that dialog, hilariously done.
Thank you for another wonderful laugh with our hobbits, GW :-)
(Pippin would mention the gloves)
Author's reply
This one started out on LJ some time ago as the result of another of Shirebound's posts and just for fun and to keep in practice I wrote it completely in dialog. Saves me the trouble of writing all that pesky stage-setting stuff. hehehe
Glad you enjoyed it!
And there really should have been gloves for the hobbits! Pip was right.

*snerk*
This was hilarious! You know, the Quest will never seem quite the same.
And Pippin's right--they should have had gloves. But it's not Stider's fault--Celeborn gave them the boats. I'm sure Galadriel should have included gloves when she was passing out the presents!! How thoughtless of her!!
*giggle* I'm just imagining Sam trying to help row! *snicker*
Author's reply
This was all thanks to another Shirebound's ideas. Glad you enjoyed it!
When I was originally writing this the thing about the gloves didn't occur to me until I got to that part in the story and then all of the sudden, there it was! Pippin just slipped that one right into the story and then I did wonder that the hobbits didn't have any gloves. I know why they didn't have shoes but gloves would have been useful.
Poor Sam! The boats just weren't his thing at all but as Strider pointed out, Sam did so much elsewhere for the Fellowship. I wonder what might have happened if he had rowed? hehehe

Oh, I remember this one! I love it! Poor Pippin means well, but he apparently has a healthy appetite for "furry foot". :-P Really enjoyed Sam's point of view. Excellent tale!
Well, gotta run off to work again...
Author's reply
Thanks for reading again and reviewing again! I do think Pippin had a gift for putting his foot into his mouth at times and I did have fun writing this from Sam's POV. I am starting to get comfortable with Sam now.

Pippin, Pippin... not the soul of tact at this point in your life, are you? *g*
(good chuckle. I needed one today.)
Author's reply
I posted it on LJ after Shirebound posted a photo of Sam in one of the Elvin boats and posed the questions about what he might be thinking.
Pippin wasn't exactly tactful, was he? hehehe
Glad it made you chuckle! Thank you for the reviews!

· Chapter 0: A discussion about disclaimers
This is probably one of your best disclaimers yet. And to think you didn't have to dredge it up yourself, all you had to do was transcribe an overheard conversation...
Author's reply
You encouraged this behavior, you know. You were the first person to begin reading these prologues on a regular basis. At that point, I started thinking of them as part of the entertainment. I did get lucky with this one. Pippin and Merry did all the work.
Thank you for all of your prologue reviews. At the moment, the prologue of this series is getting more reviews than the story! I love it!

Very nice to see Frodo in a good mood and enjoying himself! A nice treat for us and Sam. And that disclaimer was a hoot - especially the last bit of dialogue. The professor should have had more of a disclaimer himself.
Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Author's reply
Thank you. I do like a happy Frodo. Until recently I avoided writing much Quest because I don't like writing Frodo all sad and under the influence of the Ring. (That and the fact I tend to twist the canon in knots at times.)
Glad you enjoyed the prologue! Thanks for the review.

Love those Hobbits! Merry and Pippin are a scream. Frodo and Sam are...well, what can I say? They look out for each other so well that it is no wonder that they are gwaydor (sp?). Love, Neilia
Author's reply
Thank you! I like writing Merry and Pippin and so I am very glad you enjoyed them. And there was no finer friendship than Frodo's with Sam. As to the spelling, I am the wrong person to ask on that. If it weren't for the spell check I'd not be allow to post here or anywhere else. Take care and do come back!

I love that expression of Sam's as he sits in the boat - he really doesn't look happy.
Love Pippin guilelessly putting his foot in it - I think he only opens his mouth so often to change feet! Poor Boromir, he must wonder what he has let himself in for! And sneaky Aragorn, delegating the 'hobbit-sitting' task to Boromir while he took the two sensible hobbits!
Author's reply
It must have taken all of the courage that Sam had to get in that boat. It proves how very devoted he was to Frodo.
Pippin does have a way of putting the wrong foot forward, doesn't he?
That talent of delegating authority is why Aragorn made such a wonderful King!

Here's an idea for you: how about a collection of your disclaimers? They're almost as good as the stories!
[Unfortunately, I don't think such a collection would fit in SoA's guidelines. Maybe you could ask for an exemption?]
Author's reply
I doubt my disclaimers fit anyone's guidelines. I have embarked on a whole new quest for the oddest prologues. It seems some folks have come along for the ride. Thank you for reading and I'm very glad you enjoyed this one. (Are there exemptions?)

Oh, goodness, what a good Sam-voice! You have him down pat :D This fic made me smile as if it were chocolate, which, given my fondness for that substance, is a Feat Indeed. I'm very grateful! Your Merry and your Pippin are marvellous:
Boromir, you take Merry and Pippin.”
“Both of them?” Boromir said sounding less than pleased with his lot
LOL! Poor Boromir-but I would swap places with him in an instant.
“Now, get in the boat and close your mouth or I’ll suggest that Boromir use you as an anchor.”
Thanks so much for brightening my day with this wonderful insight into Sam's view of the Quest. It's beautiful.

And that's something that Mr. Pippin knows just as well as the Gaffer, Sam.
This was adorable! I am so glad you are putting your very own unique spin on the Quest--I love it!

Hey, you kept telling me to write Quest and now it seems to be sneaking up on me. I actually have about four Quest fictions to post here! (Most are Shirebound's suggestions.
