Compared to Balrog's Balls, Morgoth's Teeth is pretty tame if you ask me! Lynda

6336 · 2 February 2009 · Chapter 1: Balrog's Balls!

Well, in a way Morgoth's Teeth is a lot more polite that Balrogs Balls! Do Balrogs have balls? Lynda

Author's reply

'Do Balrogs have balls?' *Grin* You'd have to ask Glorfindel!

Iteralday Earrinde · 13 September 2007 · Chapter 1: Balrog's Balls!

wow, that was great:)

perelleth · 22 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Balrog's Balls!

This was hilarious! Moms always find a wayn to win! And ELrond is oging to pay, that`s for sure. And meanwhile Elladan got to enjoy the show!

Author's reply

Well, I hope Celebrían will win - but it will be a struggle with Elrond helping her! You're right, Elladan is enjoying this - it's not often Elrohir's in trouble and he's not!

Bodkin · 16 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Balrog's Balls!

The eternal struggle of the mother to compartmentalise who can say what to whom and when! Balrog's balls and Morgoth's teeth ... Well - teeth are probably a better part of the body to mention in polite company. Now all Celebrian has to do is get it through to E2 what is meant by polite company. Lovely, Jay. Thank you so much - that is a delightful story of two lovely elflings. And Glorfindel shines in his absence - as only he can! Not his naneth, indeed. A grown elf. Good thing Celebrian is made of stern stuff.

Happy (very belated) birthday. I'm not sure of the exact date, but I know it's long gone :( I think Celebrían (with Elrond as a husband, and the twins (and Arwen) as offspring) would have to be strong. Especially with elves like Glorfindel around. I don't write about him that often, but whenever I do, he seems to steal the scene!

Selene Aduial · 15 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Balrog's Balls!

*Snicker* Poor Celebrian, she's trying her best even if she know it won't be the last colourfull expression the twins will learn ;) Not with Glorfindel (and Elrond) around.

Author's reply

Ah, yes - poor Celebrían. But I wonder what expressions *she* learned as a child? That could be another interesting plot bunny ...

pipinheart · 14 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Balrog's Balls!

Very nice... Elrohir would have heared that saying from no one else but Glorfindel. And how thier naneth got after him, cute. Even Elrond saying something that the twins may want to repeat. nicely done...

Author's reply

Well, yes - who else would it have been but Glorfindel? He's rather a bad influence on the twins :>) I wonder if Elladan will start using 'Morgoth's teeth' now? Thanks for reviewing!

Agape4Gondor · 14 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Balrog's Balls!

Very cute! And if anyone has the right to say Balrog's balls, it is Glorfindel who might possibly have been seen some up close! LOL

Author's reply

*Snort* That's why I knew it had to be Glorfindel who originally said it!!

treymaine · 14 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Balrog's Balls!

ROTFLOL That almost made me choke on my coffee. What an awesome story. Really funny considering my son (age 6) and husband are playing ROTK (XBOX) and both of them are cussing at the orcs right now.

Author's reply

*Grin* I seem to be responsible for a lot of people choking on coffee today! I'm glad you liked this. I hope your husband isn't teaching your son any unfortunate phrases!

Kitty · 14 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Balrog's Balls!

*ROTFL!!!* What a way to start my day at work! Oh Jay, that was great! At first I thought Elrohir was bad to blame Elladan for something he didn't. But that was soon forgotten over the following argument. Somehow I found it touching that he at first only said he had it from 'someone', to not give Glorfindel away. But of course, from whom could he have learned that particular expression? Poor Celebrían. How can she convince her sons not to use these words if they hear it permanently from their elders? Elrohir is right, of course, she doesn't tell Glorfindel off for saying that! (though I wonder if she now at least *tries*) And then Elrond popped up and used another expression nearly as bad ... and I nearly fell out of my chair from laughing so hard! That was hilarious! Thank you, Jay, that was priceless!

Author's reply

*Grin* Thanks! I think the twins always try to blame each other - but Elladan got his revenge this time! At first I had Celebrían trying to find out who'd said it - but I realised she'd know perfectly well that it was Glorfindel, and just had to make Elrohir admit it. And then Elrond appeared ...

Larner · 13 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Balrog's Balls!

Oh, yes--where do they learn them, if not from us? Heh!

Author's reply

Glorfindel and Elrond should *both* know better than use expressions like that when the twins are around!

Redheredh · 13 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Balrog's Balls!

Very cute. :) A mother's work is never done... *sigh*

Author's reply

Poor Celebrían - she never will stop Elrohir saying that!

elliska · 13 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Balrog's Balls!

ROTFL! I was originally going to say poor Elrohir but when I got to the end I couldn't decide if I should say poor Elrond or poor Celebrian! That was hilarious, Jay.

Author's reply

I think it's 'poor Celebrían'. As if the twins weren't bad enough, now she needs to have Words with Elrond :>)

Aglarendis · 13 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Balrog's Balls!

Greetings! A friend and I are almost rolling on the floor! That was cute, and oh so true of children. I can imagine the elves developed some very interesting expressions, though I never would have thought of that one. Shame on Glorfindel for using language such as that around young, innocent, impressionable children! Someone ought to make him write lines or clean his room for punishment! But their father is little better, as we saw. This was well written, and certainly worth the read!!

Author's reply

Thanks - I'm glad you enjoyed this! Elrohir has used the expression several times in other stories, and I decided it was time to find out where he learnt it - and the reaction when he first said it in his parents' hearing. Elrond's words at the end quite surprised me, but I'm glad he appeared!

Ces · 13 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Balrog's Balls!

Jay! Wonderful story, but then all your stories are great! Poor Elrohir! He knows he's not supposed to say some things, yet out of his mouth they come! Thank goodness Celebrian has a sense of humor! And then in comes Elrond and what does he do? At least it wasn't as bad as what Glorfindel says! *snicker* Any plans for another story of our three favorite young elves? Either in Mirkwood or Imladris? I hope so!

Author's reply

Poor Celebrían - she needs a sense of humour with the twins - and Glorfindel! I won't let myself think about a new story until I finish the two I already have! *sigh*

Fiondil · 13 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Balrog's Balls!

Poor Glorfindel. He gets blamed for everything. *grin* First the twins with "balrog's balls" and then in my story "Tad Edhel a Firion" he is blamed when little Arwen screams "Pweenorch" (Pui-en-orch, 'orc-spit') in public. Someone should wash that elf's mouth with soap. And I could just see Celebrían's expression when Elrond comes in and says what he says. Priceless.

Author's reply

*Grin* Glorfindel doesn't mean to be a bad influence on the twins - it just happens that way :>) I've not read your story - I'll go and find it. Orc spit, huh?

paranoidangel · 13 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Balrog's Balls!

That's a perfect ending - it made me laugh! Poor Celebrian, having to deal with three children :)

Author's reply

Thanks, Nic! Poor Celebrían - it can't have been easy to keep a straight face while telling Elrohir (and Elrond) off!

daw the minstrel · 13 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Balrog's Balls!

Very funny, Jay. When my kid was just learning to read, he read road signs to me while I was driving. We passed a movie house showing "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" and he hesitantly read "The... Best... Little... I don't know that word." LOL. Being the liberal mom I am, I said "whorehouse." He echoed "horrorhouse" and went on.

Author's reply

LOL! What would you have done if he did know the word?

Armariel · 13 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Balrog's Balls!

Well! How could I not read a story with THAT title?? LOLOL Very cute! Gee, Glorfindel, who'd 'a thought it? ~~~~{~@

Author's reply

*Grin* How could I give the story any other title? Glorfindel - well, he's to blame for most of the twins' misadventures actually - though he'd never admit it!

Dot · 13 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Balrog's Balls!

ROTFL!! Brilliant. Poor Elrohir. It really is all Glorfindel's fault... And I love the ending. Now how do they explain this to a bewildered Elrond?

Author's reply

Poor Glorfindel seems to get the blame all the time, doesn't he? And now Elrond had taught his sons another unfortunate expression :>)
