Agape4Gondor · 26 June 2008 · Chapter 999: Come Yesterday

Well, I have followed this through till the end, though, sadly, not leaving many reviews (forgive me). My favorite line was Tulip's - that naps don't count. I loved the finding of the slingshot in the cave; I loved Oak, and so many other things. I did enjoy it thoroughly. Very well written, a lot of fun, with enough anxious moments, and a good ending. Thanks for sharing this.

I'm extrememly pleased to hear that you enjoyed my tale, and kept reading it right up until the end. Any and all FB, freely given, is, and always will be gratefully received. Thank you so much!

Thank you again for this wonderful story! It was a good idea to list all the words again, for I had no idea that they were in Celtic AND Gaelic (and Elvish). Those two languages are fascinating, although I sometimes have no clue how to pronounce those words ;-) I'm always eager to read new "Tulip" stories, and I'm looking forward to more!

Author's reply

Andrea, I very much appreciate your constant support through the creation of my tale! I'm so pleased you've enjoyed it and that you also like my wee Tulip! I really should post a pronunciation guide because those Gaelic words are not pronounced anything like they're spelled, lol.

Larner · 11 June 2008 · Chapter 999999: Author's Notes

Always interesting to see how some tales come to be! Thanks so much for the glimpse into your imagination's processes.

Author's reply

Thank *you* for continuing to read and comment!

Larner · 11 June 2008 · Chapter 999: Come Yesterday

The brief look at the terrors and frustrations--and reassurances--known during the Time of Troubles is well done. And then at last Pippin is at home once more, and all rejoice that this is so. A most apt ending, and a joy to realized that Pippin actually met Eolande.

Author's reply

Yes, I thought he should have the opportunity to meet Eolande. As ever, Larner, thank you so very much for all your generous comments! They have really meant a great deal to me.

Pearl Took · 11 June 2008 · Chapter 999999: Author's Notes

It was a total privilege to help you in any way I could. I love the story and hope it does well at the MEFAs :-)

Author's reply

Pearl, your reading and commenting was so very valuable to me as well. It's amazing what more than one set of eyes can see in the same story and I appreciate you helping me!! I hope it does well at mefa too. I worked really hard on it.

Pearl Took · 11 June 2008 · Chapter 999: Come Yesterday

Wonderful!! This was indeed the perfect ending, Cathleen :-) I love the understanding between Paladin and Pippin. I love how they were each comforted by their gift. Wonderful!! MEWD!!!

Author's reply

Thanks Pearl! It was a real challenge at times and I'm very glad it all came together at last, and that you liked it!

Andrea · 5 June 2008 · Chapter 11: The Song of the Morning Birds

Wonderful reunion! Well, as someone pointed out before I think that Frodo might suspect something. Most of the other hobbits believe Paladin's explanation that Pippin has just a vivid imagination. But what about Esme? Like her brother she is gifted with "The Sight". Does she know that Paladin is lying? I am still fascinated by that stone and I would love to read more about it. P.S.: Happy belated birthday :)

Author's reply

Hi Andrea! Yes, Frodo is very astute so I'm sure he suspects there is more to the picture. I think Esmie know her brother well enough to leave it alone. Heh, I like to think of a "lie of omission" is really a different kind of falsehood in a case like this! Thanks for your lovely comments and I hope you enjoy the upcoming epilogue as much!

Pearl Took · 5 June 2008 · Chapter 11: The Song of the Morning Birds

*sigh* Beautiful! "He couldn’t help being curious when Pippin had said very little about the whole experience and then appeared to be forgetting it altogether. He couldn’t say that made him unhappy." It is a wonder how children seem to do that. You think they've forgotten, but then haven't. "He supposed he would know the rest when the time came. The spirit of the oak had said it was so, and he had no reason not to believe in those words. What task of such grave importance did his son have to meet in his future?" It is so hard for us adults to wait, hehehe, we know how time flits by. Just wonderful Cathleen!!

Author's reply

Thank you Pearl! I'm so glad to hear you liked it. Yes, the mind of a child is an extraordinary thing, isn't it?

shirebound · 5 June 2008 · Chapter 11: The Song of the Morning Birds

“And don’t you evergo on an adventure without me and Merry, either, all right?” Frodo nodded solemnly, gazing into the earnest green eyes. “I promise,” he whispered back. I like how you put that in. :) What a fascinating story. You really give the Tooks (and Esmeralda and Frodo and others) such depth, and unfold a long, magical history that weaves together for the good of the Shire.

Author's reply

Thank you Shirebound! I appreciate all the wonderful and thoughtful comments you have made throughout the telling of my tale! And, it's almost done, finally - WHEEE!

Larner · 5 June 2008 · Chapter 11: The Song of the Morning Birds

And perhaps he begins to understand just why his father didn't answer all his questions as he finds himself redirecting his own wife's attention from her own. Lovely homecoming; no one quite believes him, although Frodo is on the verge of it; and the rest of the family rejoices. And even Tulip wishes to enjoy a hot bath! Heh! And love the poetry you've been using to introduce the last few chapters.

Author's reply

Well, lucky for Pad that Eglantine is more centered on nothing other than having her little one back safely. Thank you for *all* of your very kind comments through all these chapters - I really appreciate it so much! And yes, it's been a great deal of fun seeking out appropriate Faerie-related poetry, so I'm pleased to hear you liked it.

Dreamflower · 4 June 2008 · Chapter 11: The Song of the Morning Birds

Oh, I loved the changes--they came out so well, especially the extra parts with Merry and his sisters! Great job, sweetie! I look forward to the epilogue!

Author's reply

Hey, thanks so much Dreamflower! You have been absolutely awesome throughout the telling of this tale, and I appreciate all the very generous comments you have made, both in review and as my beta. Your suggestions were wonderful, as usual, and the little extra boost and insights into each chapter are appreciated beyond belief!!! Whew, working on the Epilogue and then it's done, ha! At last....

Andrea · 3 June 2008 · Chapter 10: Silver Window, Flowing Fate

Finally, Paladin has his little lad back again :) I could feel with him and occasionally grew as impatient as he did with the Oak's Spirit's answers. “It would seem you have all the answers sorted out, as usual,” Paladin muttered in irritation LOL!!! I especially liked that reply :) I loved the blessing with the river water for both, Pippin and Tulip, and I wonder if the faerie stone will reappear in other stories. (I remember the stone Larner mentioned.) Thank you very much!

Larner · 2 June 2008 · Chapter 10: Silver Window, Flowing Fate

Hooray! The lost is home, brought home by the triumphant--and suitably warned--hunter, with fairy stone in hand! Will it, as does the one first Frodo and later Sam found in Buckland, help him see beyond glamours one day? Ah, what the blessing to have received!

Author's reply

I think the stone may figure into several things in Pip's future, *and* will likely help him see beyond the glamours, yes indeed! It's going to be great fun for the author to find out, at least, and hopefully for the readers too. As always, Bonnie, thank you for your continued review and support of this story!

Golden · 2 June 2008 · Chapter 10: Silver Window, Flowing Fate

Loved the Chapter! Now they are back together again! :) And I would very much like the whole story to the scene you described...you know with Pip thinking he could fly like a bird. *g*

Author's reply

Golden, another request, hmm? Well, I actually already have an idea in mind, so we'll see. I'm so pleased to hear you liked the chapter!!!

Pearl Took · 2 June 2008 · Chapter 10: Silver Window, Flowing Fate

Bravo!! I'm so glad wee Pip is back with his parents, save and sound :-) I love poor Paladin's struggles to keep his temper and stay somewhat calm, and I love Tulip getting her very own blessing :-) Wonderful, Cathleen!!

Author's reply

Thank you, Pearl! I'm glad he's back with his family too, and with lots of stories to tell.....hee! Glad to hear you liked this chapter - it's almost done, whoohooo!!!!

shirebound · 2 June 2008 · Chapter 10: Silver Window, Flowing Fate

Pippin held his toy up. “Will you give Tulip a special blessing too, Alfie?” The knitted piglet squeaked with delight Awwwww. Yay, happy reunion! Whew.

Author's reply

Thank you, Shirebound! Only one more chapter and a brief epilogue and it's *finally* done - yippeee!

Larner · 26 May 2008 · Chapter 9: A Seeker's Journey

Ah, so sweet, Cathleen! Paladin learns patience, and Pippin a different sort of patience.

Author's reply

Yes indeed, father and son both learn important lessons on their journey. Thanks so much for continuing to read and comment, Bonnie!

Golden · 24 May 2008 · Chapter 9: A Seeker's Journey

Yes..who was it?????? Very nice story. Tell us more! :)

Author's reply

Thanks hon! Be patient, it will be finished in another week!

Andrea · 23 May 2008 · Chapter 9: A Seeker's Journey

This story is growing more and more interesting! So, the faerie folk was waiting for another hobbit lad to find his way into their realm? And that special lad was Pippin! Wow! And they know he has an important task to do in the future. What else do they know, I wonder? This is very mysterious! On the other hand, Paladin found out about his ancestor, too. And about that battle. I heard about that battle before, but I don't remember neither the source, nor the details. On the one hand the outcome is fascinating, and on the other hand it makes me shiver. Abiding by the historic agreement, they retreated underground and now embrace and care for all of nature within and without the Otherworld. They lived underground? How long? That must have been dreadful for people who love nature. Last, but not least I have to agree with the Voice of the Oak, Paladin and Pippin have much in common, but they are also very different! Can't wait for the next chapter :)

Author's reply

Thank you, Andrea for continuing to follow this story! It is almost finished and some of your questions will be answered in the next chapter, which I will have posted before the end of next week!

shirebound · 22 May 2008 · Chapter 9: A Seeker's Journey

What a beautiful story, full of gentle magic and hope and mystery.

Author's reply

Thank you Shirebound, I always treasure your comments!

Agape4Gondor · 2 May 2008 · Chapter 3: A Faerie Song

Oh my goodness! As the grandchild of a wise Irish woman, this tale has me tense and worried. I was always told to stay on the path, not go into the forest, not do any of the things Pippin is doing - because the 'little people' might do something to you.... *shivers in fear*

Author's reply

Yes, isn't it intriguing? I am also of Celtic heritage and these tales have always fascinated me!

Agape4Gondor · 2 May 2008 · Chapter 2: A Wee Adventure

Oh my goodness gracious - what a silly Hobbit! And poor Tulip - she must be beside herself from the cold and worry!

Author's reply

Yup, poor Pip is proceeding without a thought, as usual!

Larner · 1 May 2008 · Chapter 8: Walking Between Worlds

Ahh--he's managed to cross over into Faerieland himself--briefly, at least. Lovely!

Author's reply

Yes indeed, he has. Paladin should have quite the adventure there, just like his son. Thanks so much for your comments and continued support - both mean a great deal to me!
