I loved this glimpse at the relationship between our favourite King and our beloved Pip - how perfect. Meant to tell you so ages ago but my modem decided otherwise!
Author's reply
Thank you so much! I seem to be insatiable when it comes to gentle, hobbity TLC. :)
pippinsgirl · 30 April 2007 · Chapter 1
I really liked that.... I do feel much like Pippin did, everybody thinks he always skrews up and such, seems like me right now. i've already done a Pippin like thing today that i'll regret when i see my report card.....but this story put a smile back on my face
Author's reply
Thank you, Pippinsgirl. I'm glad this gave you a smile. :)
grumpy · 29 April 2007 · Chapter 1
Poor Pippin, to start to feel like a adult, and then to have a small setback. I guess Strider would have a hard time being seen as a adult, being surrounded by much much older beings.
Author's reply
Aragorn and Pippin both had to prove themselves, didn't they?
Antane · 27 April 2007 · Chapter 1
"Then you will need to set a new goal, Peregrin Took," he said softly, "for you already have your king's highest regard." Very nice. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Author's reply
Thank you so much. :)
Lindelea · 26 April 2007 · Chapter 1
Ah, so you did post it! Hurrah! (Am up sneaking a few reads, waiting for some codeine to kick in. Stupid cough. Only bright side is it gives me reading time I don't really have. But I'll be a wreck when this morning dawns.) This is really a lovely picture between a Ranger-King and his young knight. I'm so glad you joined in telling the Tale. Thanks again.
Author's reply
I hope you start feeling much better soon! Thank *you*, for inspiring such a lovely series. I'm sure the other contributors enjoyed it as much as I did. *hugs*
Edlyn · 25 April 2007 · Chapter 1
Oh, this story made me smile on this dreary day (it is gray and rainy outside my window and rather depressing). Pippin is my favourite hobbit character from the canon and I feel you got his character and personality down perfectly. And Aragorn was exactly right. This is definitely being bookmarked to read again and again. Many thanks! Edlyn
Author's reply
Oh my, thank you! Your lovely words are greatly appreciated. :)
Agape4Gondor · 24 April 2007 · Chapter 1
I very much enjoyed Aragorn's kind regard for Pippin - not berating him for 'foolish' thoughts but responding to the Hobbit's needs. Beautiful in the telling, as always! Pssst - I had not seen it before, so I'm glad you posted it here also.
Author's reply
I'm also glad I posted it; I had nearly forgotten about it until recently! So glad you enjoyed this. :)
Grey Wonderer · 24 April 2007 · Chapter 1
I love this and it doesn't need to be part of a bigger story. It works so well on its own. Such a wonderful moment between Aragron and Pippin! I also like thinking about Aragron being watched over by all of those Elves! Now there's a plot bunny if I ever heard one. *hint*
Author's reply
Thanks, GW. I think this little visit did Pippin a lot of good. That *is* a nice plot bunny! Can't promise to write it myself, but maybe someone else will get bitten... :)

Thanks, Armariel. 'Sweet' is my favorite thing to write about. :)
Elwen · 24 April 2007 · Chapter 1
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!! I have always imagined it would be difficult for Aragorn when he came to manhood in Imladris. Even mortal fathers have difficulty accepting that their little one is all grown up. It must have been even more difficult for the elves, for whom even a 70 year old would be as a child. Aragorn cannot have helped feeling like a babe in arms.
Author's reply
It might have been as healing for Aragorn to share this memory with Pippin, as it was for Pippin to hear it. :)
Amy · 24 April 2007 · Chapter 1
I love these relationships between the Fellowship members and how these 9 people thrown together seemingly by chance find out how much they share, despite their disparate backgrounds. I can see young Estel as being very like Pippin in some ways. Those two moppets!
Author's reply
Thank you so much, Amy. Estel the moppet! What a fun thing to imagine. :)
Larner · 24 April 2007 · Chapter 1
Just as sweet here as elsewhere. Lovely indeed, and now he indeed needs a new goal with that last one already won. Thanks for the invitation to reread.
Author's reply
Awww, I'm so happy you enjoyed this... twice! You sweetie.
Pearl Took · 24 April 2007 · Chapter 1

SurgicalSteel · 24 April 2007 · Chapter 1
This was every bit of delightful. Pippin getting exactly the care he needs - which sometimes means talking with the healer rather than medicines - that's lovely. Aragorn revealing that most of his adult life has been spent trying to prove himself worthy of the woman of his dreams - well, you know I enjoy a good romance. And the last bit, when Aragorn says that Pippin already has his highest regard, that was just lovely, too! It amuses me that when I log in to this site and type the 's', it's not just my own ID that drops down as an option for IE to fill in. :D
Author's reply
I know you enjoy a good romance! :) I like to think that Aragorn would reveal things to the hobbits he might not tell other folks. As you know, sometimes a gentle talk can do as much good as one more spoonful of tonic.
aprilkat · 24 April 2007 · Chapter 1
Oh, that was so touching! I was especially moved by Pippin's greatest wish - and then Aragorn's response. Such a lovely interaction.
Author's reply
Thank you. This is the relationship I love imagining between Aragorn and the hobbits. For them to continue feeling comfortable calling him 'Strider', he must treat them with affection as well as respect.
Andrea · 24 April 2007 · Chapter 1
Awwww! I read this before in Lindelea's story, but I think it's a great idea to post AND read it again! And then there was Pippin... LOL! When it comes to describe Pippin's behavior, there's just one word that seems fitting: Pippin ;-) But he and Aragorn found out that they had something in common. I can very well imagine Elrond treating Aragorn like a child and his sons enjoying themselves immensly while doing the same! Thank you for (re-)posting :)
Author's reply
Pippin is so very... Pippin. And how we love him! Thank you, Andrea. :)
AspenJules · 24 April 2007 · Chapter 1
AWWWWWWWWW!!! MMMM, snuggly Pippin, loving King, not much better than this! Especially since on my Walk to Rivendell, I'm walking with a drowsy Pippin. :D
Author's reply
There's hardly anything better than drowsy, snuggly hobbits, and gentle care from those who appreciate them. :)
Farawyn · 24 April 2007 · Chapter 1

Oh Yes! THANK YOU Shirebound. One of my most favourite chapters - and posted just when i needed to read something like this. Do you have a touch of the Tookish Sight?
Author's reply
I'm glad this was here when you needed it! :D
Telpethoron · 24 April 2007 · Chapter 1
I've always found it striking how much size matters in Middle Earth. Hobbits, because of their small stature, are viewed by many humans as children - in spite of the fact that hobbits do not age at the same rate as humans do. It was surprising to me to discover that Frodo was not, as I thought, in his early 30s but rather in his 50s at the time of the Quest. Then again, Aragorn doesn't look half bad himself for a man who took the throne of Gondor at around 87 years of age. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and I think I'll go from here to see where it was posted originally. It sounds like a wonderful tale. Thanks for posting this!
Author's reply
I'm so happy you enjoyed this. It was a joy to contribute to Lindelea's tale. :)
Lily · 24 April 2007 · Chapter 1
Dear Pippin! I can't find more to say. It's great to learn that he isn't the only one who feels like a child at times :)
Author's reply
I think hearing such a thing from Aragorn must have been very comforting for our young hobbit. :)
