Aragorn, crashing to the floor half awake and entangled in a bedsheet would be an ... how shall I put it ... 'interesting sight to behold' *big grin*. Though your that latest chapter took a definite turn to the darker side after that rather amusing opening. Killing Frodo as a last resort is an option that cannot be ruled out at that point. Though, as Aragorn's no doubt numerous bruises from various Hobbit-kicks and -punches prove, planning such a course of action and acting according to it are two different things entirely, at least as long as Frodo's friends remain in the same room as Frodo. Their stand against Aragorn was a valiant deed! Using the Ring as a last means to restore Frodo's strength is a two-edged affair. While it undoubtetly helps to improve Frodo's health, it might well speed up the Ring's influence upon him.

I run out of superlatives to praise your writing. This scene was so intense that I was sitting on the edge of my seat and when they hung the ring around Frodo's neck I almost cried.
Pearl Took · 10 December 2003 · Chapter 9: Chapter Nine
I'm totally wrapped up in the tension, holding my breath as they have held their's only to let it go with their's as well. Magnificent! Pearl Took
Lossenchristal · 10 December 2003 · Chapter 9: Chapter Nine
Wow, what a fast response! Thanks! This is a great chapter and ends much better than the last one!;-) I will be looking forward to more though!
Arwen Baggins · 10 December 2003 · Chapter 9: Chapter Nine
Oh, so THAT's why they kept the Ring around Frodo's neck!!! I always enjoy reading different peoples' perspective on such matters. It's very interesting, since Tolkien never tells us himself.
Hai · 10 December 2003 · Chapter 9: Chapter Nine
That is really an interesting spin on things, that the Ring be the thing that could save Frodo yet it also will practically be bound to him if he wears it! I liked how you wrote all the hobbits attacking Aragorn in Frodo's "defence" at least as far as they understood it! Quite a sad chapter, you did it wonderfully! Thank you and looking forward to more!
Orophins Dottir · 3 December 2003 · Chapter 8: Chapter Eight
Oh, the knives that Elrohir and Aragorn carry are going to give me nightmares. You are very evil to do this! This may be my favorite of your stories, even though it does not have my much-loved blond elf. Splendid chapter! Humble Scribe to his Majesty Thranduil
LKK · 1 December 2003 · Chapter 8: Chapter Eight
He must have dozed off himself for the next thing he was aware of was Pippin’s shrill voice shrieking, “Strider! Strider! Frodo’s not breathing!” ACK! What a horrible way to end a chapter! I hope they get the shard out of Frodo soon. I'm not sure how much more I can take of reading this excellently written but nonetheless nerve-wracking story. Update soon, please! LKK
Nilmandra · 30 November 2003 · Chapter 8: Chapter Eight
I am so glad I know how this story ends, otherwise I would be blubbering. I particularly like your Samwise - all practical common sense hobbitness.
fliewatuet · 30 November 2003 · Chapter 8: Chapter Eight
I know that Frodo will be fine soon (well, as fine as he'll ever be), but your story is full of tension nonetheless. A beautiful tale of the ups and downs during Frodo's recovery, and a scary one in certain parts. Aragorn and Elrohir being prepared for the worst, watching over Frodo, ready to kill him, is one of them.
Hai · 29 November 2003 · Chapter 8: Chapter Eight
Eek! Cliffhangers drat all! I don't like even to think about someone having to kill Frodo to prevent him from becoming a Wraith! That is so terrible! Thank you for such a wonderful update! Although at first I got it confused with Shirebounds story and had to set myself straight! I like how you write the hobbits you do such a wonderful job! What on earth did happened between Pippin and Frodo at Bag End? I hope you are planning to let us know wether it be in this story or another one! Looking forward to more, thank you!
JULES6 · 29 November 2003 · Chapter 8: Chapter Eight
Hi Budgielover, I hope you realise all of the heart attacks you give your avid readers leaving them like that. I really like the sensitivity with Pippin. Lots of good lines in there and comfort for Frodo that he is unaware of. Nicely done. I really enjoy seeing an update from any of your stories. I will be patient until the next time - but barely. Another great chapter! Even though we know what's going to eventually happen, you are building the angst slowly. Can't wait for more.
Pearl Took · 29 November 2003 · Chapter 8: Chapter Eight
budgielover, Oh,my! I can feel the hurt in the young hobbits hearts. Their poor attempts at distracting themselves. The love for Frodo that keeps pulling their worried eyes back to gaze at his face. And now, Pippin's shriek fading away in my ears. Rivetting! Pearl Took

I love Budgie angst... I really do. And I adore your cliffhangers. :D Do please keep going. Ariel
Lindelea · 29 November 2003 · Chapter 8: Chapter Eight
Excellent, delicately crafted angst, right up to the conclusion. I forgot to say, in my review of the previous chapter, how I enjoyed the tour of Rivendell.
Lindelea · 29 November 2003 · Chapter 7: Chapter Seven
Masterfully executed, as usual. You go from pathos to humour to slight increase of tension so smoothly... Great job! Looking forward to more.
Lossenchristal · 8 November 2003 · Chapter 7: Chapter Seven
Hi, I really enjoy your stories! I am glad I found them. Especially this one. I have always wanted to know what happened during those missing three days! I really like Recovery in Rivendell too. Please update this one soon! I can't wait to see how you finish it!
Hai · 5 November 2003 · Chapter 7: Chapter Seven
I liked how all of the diners were balming Aragorn for starving the hobbits! lol, priceless. I like how you wrote about them getting a tour of the House of Rivendell and leaving thoroughly charmed elves behind them! Was the man with the black beard Boromir? I wouldn't think he would make them sherk away like that, but who knows. Looking forward to more! thank you!
Sunhawk · 4 November 2003 · Chapter 7: Chapter Seven
FF.N is (oh so oddly) being impossible, so you get the review here! ;) Rarely have I giggled so wildly as when Merry and Pippin were winning every elf in Imladris over to their side! A sweet moment in an otherwise anxious, sad story--I loved it! Waiting impatiently for the next chapter of this, and even moreso for the next bit of Renewal in Rivendell.
Nilmandra · 4 November 2003 · Chapter 7: Chapter Seven
Hmm....having hobbits around is liking having an adorable younger sibling who can do no wrong. :-) I love the unfairness of it all. Poor Aragorn. I also liked the utter lack of presumption on the part of the hobbits - that a mighty council was being held and they just want to go home.
fliewatuet · 4 November 2003 · Chapter 7: Chapter Seven
Oh, the Hobbits do know how to exploit their charme! I do not envy Aragorn at being at the receiving end of all those accusing glares that he has not properly fed the poor Hobbits during their journey to Rivendell. That was such a nasty thing for him to do;-) But other than a clearly uncomfortable Aragorn, I thoroughly enjoyed the stomach-grumbling contest between Merry and Pippin in the morning. ... loud moaning growl that sounded like he had swallowed a cat was my absolute favourite *grin*. BTW I also follow Shirebound's 'By Chance or Purpose', and I really love the slightly different takes at what happens during those days in Rivendell that are portrayed in both stories.
shirebound · 4 November 2003 · Chapter 7: Chapter Seven
Oh, that bittersweet passage about Aragorn never having seen the hobbits eat to their hearts content before. But then... "They looked utterly angelic, even to Aragorn who knew better." Omigosh, everyone thought Aragorn had been deliberately starving the poor little ones! LOVE IT!
Antigone_Q · 3 November 2003 · Chapter 6: Chapter Six
Wow! You had even me on edge, and I know how it turns out. I love the way you've done the personalities of the hobbits, Aragorn, and Elrond. I hope you are still going to update this story - I notice you have another one in progress, updated more recently.
