harrowcat · 26 March 2007 · Chapter 20: T: Like a Turgid Turgon

Well I would if I were the statue!

Author's reply

Of course! How could it not, after hobbits? *And* knowing his enemy was cast down for good?

harrowcat · 26 March 2007 · Chapter 21: U: Like Unsavory Urges in Umbar

Oh this is fun - well not for those with food poisoning!

Author's reply

Yes, well, you have a point there, LOL! But I think the rest of us can giggle at their expense...

Bodkin · 24 March 2007 · Chapter 21: U: Like Unsavory Urges in Umbar

Not the black draught! Ruthless Thorongil. I'm sure the rest of the crew shared the first mate's amusement, though.

Author's reply

*giggle* I can just imagine them thinking they'd rather suffer from their ailment! I'm sure they did--somehow it's always rather amusing to see someone *else* having to endure that sort of misery.

Bodkin · 24 March 2007 · Chapter 20: T: Like a Turgid Turgon

Well - I think Faramir's come up with the perfect hobbity solution to an overdose of culture! Tavern plus ale equals a good afternoon. And I'm not surprised Turgon looks brighter at the very idea. Even if he is a statue.

Author's reply

I'm sure he did. Even statues are happier in the presence of hobbits! LOL! And by this time, Faramir's begun to understand the major fundamental of hobbit nature!

Larner · 23 March 2007 · Chapter 21: U: Like Unsavory Urges in Umbar

Oh, this one is priceless, Dreamflower! Truly priceless! The black draught, eh? I wish I'd had some of it a time or two to administer to certain children when they were teenagers and had been partaking of things that left them similarly green, and deservedly so.

Author's reply

Yep. I didn't even try to imagine what's in it--I figure it's probably got quite a reputation just from it's name and smell, LOL!

Larner · 23 March 2007 · Chapter 20: T: Like a Turgid Turgon

Nice working of the prompt into this, Dreamflower. No, there was nothing to be done, but Frodo and Sam and all others did what each needed to do to see it set right in the end. Hope they enjoy a good drink and meal at the Golden Cockerel.

Author's reply

Thanks! I was a bit lost at first, until I looked in the indexes and realized there was *another* Turgon besides the Elf. Frodo and Sam did exactly what needed to be done--and Frodo most certainly couldn't blame himself for what Sauron did in *Turgon's* time! I'm sure they did--I hear they make a wonderful chicken pie there.

phyloxena · 23 March 2007 · Chapter 21: U: Like Unsavory Urges in Umbar

Oh, thank you! Aragorn and Urges: chaste and hilarious.

Author's reply

*giggle* You're welcome, and *thank you* for the kind words!

Raksha The Demon · 23 March 2007 · Chapter 19: S: Like a Sordid Sauron

Cleverly written. Yes, evil is so often a sad, pathetic and sordid thing.

Author's reply

However it tries at times to be impressive and powerful, in the end that's how it turns out.

Raksha The Demon · 23 March 2007 · Chapter 21: U: Like Unsavory Urges in Umbar

Well done! It's not always the fragrance of athelas, is it - sometimes medicine just plain tastes nasty.

Author's reply

Sometimes it does. And of course, nasty works better at teaching a lesson, LOL!

demeter d · 22 March 2007 · Chapter 21: U: Like Unsavory Urges in Umbar

Dreamflower, you naughty girl! That title might lead a wandering mind in a different direction. This is a hilarious little image! It does serve the unfortunate sailors right. Of course, the good Captain was also a healer. he would be able to fix them up.But I am sure he was frustrated with them! A fun moment.

Author's reply

Well, the titles are taken from the prompts, LOL! So I suppose there could have been another take on it. *shrug* That's not me. It was fun to write, and I could just imagine these sailors later on--I bet none of them had much taste for seafood *after* that!

Pearl Took · 22 March 2007 · Chapter 20: T: Like a Turgid Turgon

"was it his imagination, or did the statue seem to look happier than it had before?" A wonderful touch indeed! This was charming, Dreamflower :-)

Author's reply

I *almost* didn't put it in, when it occured to me--I was afraid it might seem a little silly. I'm glad that it didn't--it seemed to me it needed to be there.

Pearl Took · 22 March 2007 · Chapter 19: S: Like a Sordid Sauron

Once again I'm amazed at how much can be said in so few words! Wonderful, Dreamflower :-)

Author's reply

Thank you. 8-)

PIppinfan1988 · 21 March 2007 · Chapter 15: O: Like an Ornery Oromë

LOL, that's a brilliant play on words. Oh, how you weave a delightful tale and leave me wanting, lol. I wanted this to continue...or perhaps there's a story just waiting to be told inside that wonderful imagination of yours? :-) PF

Author's reply

Maybe! *grin* This one was rather hard, actually!

PIppinfan1988 · 21 March 2007 · Chapter 14: N: Like a Nimble Nimrodel

Omg...I read this the other day and thought for sure I left a review. :-P I just adored elderly Pippin taking his ease in his retirement and nudging a story out of his friend. I enjoyed how Nimrodel was amused by, but not rudely, of Pippin. I'd like to see you write more about Pippin and Merry in their retirement. :-) PF

Author's reply

I think that Merry and Pippin probably were absolutely adored by the various members of Elessar's court. How could they not be?

A. Meril · 21 March 2007 · Chapter 19: S: Like a Sordid Sauron

Wow. Wow wow. That's impressive. So short, yet so... impressive. Well done.

Author's reply

Thank you! It's hard to write a dribble when you don't start out with ten words. Thank you very much!

harrowcat · 21 March 2007 · Chapter 18: R: Like a Radiant Radagast

Now, there is an invitation for more stories if I have ever heard one! *g* This rings so true to Tolkien. Radagast's true purpose is revealed.

Author's reply

I just always thought there *had* to have been some reason that Yavanna chose Radagast, and I think she had a slightly different agenda than the other Valar concerning Middle-earth. Manwe might have thought he failed his mission, but I don't think *she* did.

harrowcat · 21 March 2007 · Chapter 19: S: Like a Sordid Sauron

I bow to your cleverness! Brilliant.

Author's reply

Thank you! *blushes*bows in return*

Raksha The Demon · 20 March 2007 · Chapter 17: Q: Like a Querulous Quickbeam

This is great - apt and funny! I'd be querulous too if I had to listen to Treebeard make up his mind about things; I'm much too hasty.

Author's reply

Apparently, so was "young" Quickbeam, LOL!

Larner · 20 March 2007 · Chapter 19: S: Like a Sordid Sauron

Perhaps not truly a dribble, But it does indeed leave him lessened, depleted, destroyed, negated. Indeed negated. Wonderful.

Author's reply

Thank you. *grin*

A. Meril · 20 March 2007 · Chapter 18: R: Like a Radiant Radagast

I like this one very much, Dreamflower! The description of Radagast is excellent, and that last line makes me all hopeful and joyous for the Fourth Age. :)

Author's reply

Thank you! Yes, the Fourth Age is going to come in blooming!

Lindelea · 20 March 2007 · Chapter 18: R: Like a Radiant Radagast

Ah. Sweet. Does canon say what happened to Radagast? I know jodancingtree had him staying in Middle Earth and healing. Chicken pox are popping out all over on the youngest. *sigh*

Author's reply

Not that I know of. I loved "Following the Other Wizard". Poor baby! Give her some hugs from me. I hope she's not too itchy!

Bodkin · 20 March 2007 · Chapter 18: R: Like a Radiant Radagast

I hope he made it home in the end. When he was ready. But he's right, really. He has a different agenda - not Gandalf's, but something more ... healing. And ultimately just as valuable.

Author's reply

I am sure that he did. But his own battle with Sauron is of rather a different sort, I think. Yavanna had her own agenda, I'm sure, when she chose him--and ultimately, perhaps, even more valuable.

Bodkin · 20 March 2007 · Chapter 17: Q: Like a Querulous Quickbeam

Hasty, that's what he is! Apt to make a decision while there's a decision still to make. I can't help but sympathise with him!

Author's reply

Yes, I think most of us would find Quickbeam more easy to identify with than the other Ents!

Larner · 20 March 2007 · Chapter 18: R: Like a Radiant Radagast

Oh, am so glad your vision of Radagast coincides with mine. Wonderful! Radiant indeed.

Author's reply

Thank you! It just seemed to me that Yavanna's choice of him must have had an important reason behind it.

Bodkin · 20 March 2007 · Chapter 16: P: Like a Pink Pippin

Poor blushing Pippin. There's nothing to compare to outspoken elderly aunts for embarrassing a young courting couple. But he stood it well - for Diamond!

Author's reply

*giggle* Well, the prompt rather called for it; and Pippin, I think, would not normally be all that easy to embarrass, but visiting potential in-laws for the first time seemed tailor made to be blush-making! He did endure it bravely, didn't he?
