Ah, I find I love the soothsaying tortoiseshell cat, and Baruken's well-deserved demise.
And in this case both interpretations of the ear-washing turned out to be true. Well written.

A delightful story, and cats can sometimes be very mysterious and a little strange. I loved Boromir's humour and Pippin's healthy scepticism and the fact that even Legolas and Gandalf were eager to hear the tale. Such things must have been very welcome to lighten the road.
Author's reply
Yes, I can imagine that lighthearted tales would have been treasued along that rough road. And they're so much fun to write! Thank you kindly for taking the time to review this, much appreciated!

BRAVO! I loved both your tale and that of Boromir! I do hope you'll feature some more of his stories, you have quite the gift for him. I also hope you'll post this at fanfiction.net so I can save it in my C2 archive.
Thanks so much for this wonderful story!
