Halbarad is most thoroughly smitten, and it's so like Aragorn to help his kinsman achieve his heart's desire. I liked the way you let us see how enchanted by Mireth Aragorn was. I also like the way you slipped in Aragorn's love for Arwen.

Somehow I had missed this one. It is hilarious, and it just made my evening. The image of Huan coming in sniffin Aragorn's would be cake, and leaving in disgust is a delight. Poor Aragorn! It does indeed seems that baking is not indeed one of his accomplishments. LOL

Maybe that is why the Ring Wraiths and the Witch King of Angmar ran from Glorfindel and Asfaloth, they could not stand the Bells! Maybe they are speciel elven bells that are tuned to a frequency that drive Ring Wraiths and their like crazy? Lynda

Ahh... that's a lovely vignette of Halbarad meeting his wife. I liked his nervousness, and the way her gentle smile eased things. Poor Halbarad was smitten through and through!

Even in the most dangerous times, it really is lovely to just tease and be teased, and enjoy a light moment (or suspicious lump of baked goods) with a trusted friend. And I enjoy seeing Aragorn treated as 'family'. :)

Yes that is the question, did Glorfindel use the bells so Aragorn could hear him? Because he liked the sound? Was he looking for a fight with the riders, or did he just forget to take them off?

Oh, there is no question that Galadriel meddled! What was due to what she saw in her granddaughter's heart, how much due to what she saw in her new guest's heart, and how much because of what she foresaw if this bonding should not come to pass is the subject I've ever found myself pondering! Lovely scene here!

It does appear a frivolous thing, to have worn that set of harness when out searching for Aragorn and the Ringbearer! And this is as good a way as any to discuss it--to get drunk first! Heh!

“You took it when you went out to find Frodo,” Erestor pointed out. “That was hardly a celebratory errand.” “I did it so Aragorn would recognize me!” That's a great explanation! I never thought of that before. A delightful little story. :)

Best. Exploration*. Ever. *Exploration of small facts only obliquely mentioned by Tolkien but also rather confusing when you actually think about it. But if I'd said that above, I wouldn't have gotten the nice flow of "three one word sentences."
