I, too, have seen Pippin as being far better at reading others than most realize, not until it's done and over with. And I agree he'd not wish for Frodo to realize just how affected and frightened he is. Glad to see this interaction between the two cousins.

Pippin reminds me of my sister in being able to read people, but most people don't know she is very good at it. I always kind of wonder about Frodo and Pippin's relationship, there is quite an age difference, but I'm glad they're so close! Thank you for reviewing!
