Antane · 26 October 2007 · Chapter 12

Another chapter! *dances* Now that is my kindred soul, just so happy to be around books! I love that he had more than one open at a time and that he was thinking of his Sam for that game. Very nice to see Faramir too. Keep it coming! :) *hop hop hop* Namarie, God bless, Melinyel, Antane :)

Antane · 29 August 2007 · Chapter 11

*hop hop hop hophop HOP!* This time in excitement for 2, count them 2! more chapters! Seeing Faramir again, throwing that pillow at Pippin, hugging Sam, and the best part - “For now, though, let’s explore the books?” I question, looking at them hopefully. “All right, we can look at the books now, love,” Sam says, smiling at me as though I’m a child waiting to open his presents at Yule. He would love that library! I'm surprised he didn't have to be dragged away and left with only one book! You would have thought he'd take a whole stack! *goes back to hopping and hoping for more* Namarie, God bless, Melinyel, Antane :)

Larner · 29 August 2007 · Chapter 11

Too early to hide in a confined place, eh? And interesting he headed for Aragorn's own quarters. At least they've found the library. Sounds as if they've found a game of Chinese checkers.

Author's reply

Yes, that was actually suggested by Antane and I just kind of went with it. I don't think I'd like hiding in confined places alone after all that happened either. I was really excited to get to them finding the library! I love being in libraries and just had to write about it. You're close, but not quite. They'll have to ask Aragorn to find out what game it is.

Larner · 29 August 2007 · Chapter 10

An entertaining day they've had, and a second planned of reclaiming childhood.

Antane · 10 June 2007 · Chapter 7

Sorry, didn't realize I had missed so many chapters here - this is very good about Frodo's fears of entering the tower because of his memories of that *other* tower. He keeps getting all these clues (and so do his three - four - brothers) that all is not well with him. It'll be a culuminating effect that Arwen is going to be able to see clearly - I've wondered how she could see such brokeness but it is another gift that Iluvatar will give His child. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Antane · 9 June 2007 · Chapter 9

Keeps feeling for the Ring, is he? And he can't quite tell Merry that it's because he misses it and wishes it was still there. Interesting that he wasn't even aware of doing it. Love the end - safe in his brother's arms. :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Larner · 7 June 2007 · Chapter 9

Giving over the tension is one of the hardest things, I understand, to coming out of such a terror-filled time. And am pleased that the embrace from Sam helps him feel safe again.

Larner · 7 June 2007 · Chapter 8

Poor Sam--forced to become what he was born to be after thinking he was ONLY a gardener all these years. And I can certainly appreciate the discomfor Frodo experiences.

Larner · 7 June 2007 · Chapter 7

It would be something difficult to deal with, the idea of going up in a tower after what he's been through. I had him unable to deal with stone stairs also, so I can certainly appreciate this scene.

Elemmírë · 7 June 2007 · Chapter 9

I'm glad Frodo was able to enjoy the feast. It was wise of Aragorn to sit the Ring-bearer in between himself and Sam and have a person sitting across who would not trouble the hobbits so about their journey. His concern for them was very endearing too: "Eat what you can, but don’t overdo it. I know it’s been a while, but you are still healing.” I really liked the part with Merry and I especially loved how you had Frodo unconsciously groping for the Ring. It's become such a habit for him that he doesn't even realize he's doing it, or that his cousin is greatly upset by it. Merry needs to be more understanding of what Frodo went through, however. By that I mean, that he must realize that in carrying the Ring for so long and at the height of its power, Frodo is not able to just give up all thought of it instantly. He knows on some level that Ring is gone, but it was taken violently from him and Frodo is not yet accepting that the Ring is gone on a sub-conscious level yet. I really would have liked to have heard Frodo's response to Merry's question, to see how he would have handled that. *grin* I'm looking forward to more, Elanor, and I'm greatly enjoying this tale. I can't wait to see where you head with this. ~Elemmírë~

Elemmírë · 7 June 2007 · Chapter 8

Ah! I was wondering where Chapter 8 was! “Now come the days of the kind,” Gandalf says Um, I think you meant to write King, not kind. :) Ahh, but you are a rare creature to behold in Gondor, my dear Frodo. For a humble hobbit to be stared at by so many must be unnerving indeed. You portrayed Frodo's discomfort well ... I hope he finds some comfort in the fact that dear Sam is just about as uncomfortable as he. It's going to take some time for them to get used to their new home away from home. ~Elemmírë~

Elemmírë · 7 June 2007 · Chapter 7

Poor Frodo! Your writing of him suffering the beginnings of post-traumatic stress is well done. The manner in which you're portraying him, makes it easy to see already how changed a hobbit he is, especially when compared with the other hobbits. Frodo's already being distanced from them, so to speak, even though he himself is confused, knowing he is not quite right, but doesn't know exactly what's wrong either. I hope he finds comfort soon. ~Elemmírë~ p.s. I'm seriously contemplating a second viewing of 'Pirates' myself :)

Author's reply

Really? You think so? Thank you! I've had help from Antane. I'm glad you like it! God bless, Ellie p.s. See it again! I've seen it three times already, and I loved each one! Of course, I am one of the only ones I know that liked the second one too, so...

Queen Galadriel · 6 June 2007 · Chapter 7

Oh, poor Frodo! It would be so hard, I think, to learn to live this new life after all that happened. Very good portrayal of a flashback of sorts. Er, you might want to check the chapter numbers. What happened to 8? :) God bless, Galadriel

Author's reply

Yes, poor Frodo! I fixed the chapter numbers now. Oh dear, I must be really tired tonight, I completely forgot to post chapter eight! (I just got back from seeing Pirates 3 again, so I'm sort of hyper!! *bounces*) God bless, Ellie

Larner · 2 June 2007 · Chapter 6

To find the Sea Longing in such a mortal as Frodo must have been surprising to Legolas, and yet must have seemed quite right on reflection. And poor Frodo, reliving the awakening again, finding himself sitting on the floor and making up excuses for Sam's benefit.

Antane · 2 June 2007 · Chapter 6

What a nice surprise to see another chapter, my dear! I think it would be hard in a way to come back even when called by a loving voice but a reward awaited even if Frodo didn't know it yet. I hope he learned to open up in the West and let the poison of his wounds drain out. Namarie, God bless, Melinyel, Antane :)

Author's reply

Yes, I hope so too. After all, that is what he left for, is it not? Thank you for reviewing! God bless, Ellie

Queen Galadriel · 2 June 2007 · Chapter 6

*Yea!! Another chapter!!* I love the humor in this. Leave it to Pippin to get caught in a berry bush as tall as he is now. *shakes head* And I liked Frodo's remembering Aragorn calling him back. But I do wonder just why he was on the floor, and *what* is the matter? I could guess, but...when are they going to find out? More soon, pleeeeease!!! God bless, Galadriel

Author's reply

Lol! That just appeared on my page without any warning! Pippin has a way of getting himself into situations like that... *grins* As for what's going to happen and what's the matter... I know, but you'll have to wait to find out. God bless, Ellie

Linda Hoyland · 2 June 2007 · Chapter 6

I liked your account of ARagorn calling Frodo back.

Author's reply

Thank you! I am glad you are enjoying this! God bless, Ellie

Linda Hoyland · 2 June 2007 · Chapter 4

I love Aragorn's kindness and humility.

Linda Hoyland · 1 June 2007 · Chapter 2

I always think Gandalf could at least have let them wear some soft underwear.Poor Frodo wearing those horrid Orc garments again !

Author's reply

Lol! Yes, that is true, I never even thought of that! How inconsiderate of me. *blushes* God bless, Ellie

Antane · 8 April 2007 · Chapter 5

I'm intrigued too with what Aragorn and Sam talked about. I ache that Frodo is just beginning to realize that things are not quite right with him. Sam already called Frodo dearest - that seems to be the best name for him coming from his brother. :) Namarie, God bless, Antane

Author's reply

Yes, I am still not sure what they were talking about, but I am sure we'll find out soon enough. Yes, that is definatley the best name for Frodo coming from his Sam. *grins* God bless, Ellie

Larner · 17 March 2007 · Chapter 5

Ah, recovery isn't as simple as it seems; and now Frodo insists Sam treat him as an equal! Well done.

Author's reply

Thank you! I am glad you liked it! God bless, Ellie

Queen Galadriel · 17 March 2007 · Chapter 5

Yea! Another chapter! *dances* :) Oh dear, what is the matter with Frodo, and *why* won't he say? *sighs* But then I might have known--stubborn Baggins. Yet he wouldn't be our Frodo without that endearing stubbornness. But in this case it has me worried. The exchange about honorifics was sweetly done, and explains why, in your universe, Sam doesn't call Frodo "Mr. Frodo" in "The Latter Days". :) I just have one complaint: It's too short! :) More soon, pleeeeeeeeease? *puppy dog eyes* :) But I guess I shouldn't complain too much when each chapter is such a little gem. *tries very hard to be patient* *grins* God bless, Galadriel

Author's reply

Well, I'm not exactly sure what *is* the matter with Frodo yet, but I'm sure I'll find out soon, I have another half a chapter underway already. *grins* I won't leave you on *that* cliff too long! I'm sooo glad you liked that! I almost reconsidered going back and redoing half of the Latter Days, becaues it isn't quite canon in that sense, but then, I liked this better. I'm so glad you like it too! I'll get you more soon! *grins* Oh dear, the puppydog eyes again! *ahh!* God bless, Ellie

Linda Hoyland · 2 February 2007 · Chapter 4

This is very enjoyable. I love stories about Aragotn and the Hobbits during their recovery. You have a small typos, a missing quote mark in chapter one'“Like I’ve been sleeping on a rock for the past month I reply as he puts another pillow behind my head. ' I will eagerly await more.

Author's reply

Oh, right! *rolls eyes at self* I always miss my own typos! I'm so glad you're enjoying this! I hope to put a lot of Aragorn in here. I haven't written much of him before, and I am really enjoying it! God bless, Ellie

harrowcat · 31 January 2007 · Chapter 4

Tolkien really does gloss over the aftermath. It is great reading your, and others', vision of this time.

Author's reply

I'm glad you're enjoying! God bless, Ellie

Antane · 30 January 2007 · Chapter 4

Elemmire's review reminded me that it was nice that Frodo could enjoy the stars and not fear being out at night when so many bad things happened to him at night. "Sleep well, little ones,” Aragorn says before leaving us. I close my eyes again and scoot closer to Sam. He puts his arms around me and says, “Good night, dearest.” Ahhh, sweet love! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author's reply

*grins* I just love writing hobbity love! *sighs happily* I'm glad there are so many others who enjoy it as well! God bless, Ellie
