You do Frodo and angst very well and since I love both very much I think I know what I am talking about! :) The whole thing is good, but I love the end when he wants to comfort Sam - he is in such desperate need of comfort and solace himself and the moment he gets it, he wants to give comfort himself. Very nice. I would, however, proof this a bit better as there are several typos, but overall very well done!
Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Don't delude yourself into thinking your writing is "crappy" as you put it in your author's note. This was good! I thought you set the tone for Frodo's recurrent angst very well and as a reader, I was brought into the story and feeling for the character.
My only nitpick--check your spelling more carefully. A few words here and there were missing a letter or two. :D
I hope you continue to write more in the future.

First, don't talk ill of yourself, or you will end up fulfilling your worst expectations. You will rise only to what you attempt.
A fair beginning to writing angst. And write to your strengths, my friend. Figure out what they are and write to them--that's the best way to start. Then push the envelope a bit and develop new ones. You did that with this story. Keep trying and keep it up.
