coonzalas · 29 October 2003 · Chapter 15: A Special Invitation

Chigger · 21 October 2003 · Chapter 14: The Fire-Breathing Hobbit Lass

Finally! An update! And what an update. I love the way you write, I just wish you would do it more often, so we can know the rest of the story. I also think that Merry should have hit Hugo at least once with the flat of his sword, just for good measure. Over all, a good two chapters. Keep up the good work!

Author's reply

Thanks! Heh heh, well sadly we haven't seen the last of Hugo, so you never know what Merry will do should they happen to meet again... *cackles*

Coriel · 20 October 2003 · Chapter 14: The Fire-Breathing Hobbit Lass

Oooo! Hugo the Sleazeball! I CAN'T STAND IT when women let themselves be devastated all over again! BITE HIS HEAD OFF, Estella! Then Merry can wring his scrawny little neck! Many of the best were fire-breathers and with good cause! Someone who has already shown his true colors to such a shameful degree cannot be trusted. Face it, Hugo, YOU BLEW IT! ~ Okay, I have that out of me now. ^.^ The subject could be expanded upon a bit, but overall a great couple chapters!

Author's reply

Hehehe, wow, passionate review there. ;-) Thanks!

Coreinha · 20 October 2003 · Chapter 14: The Fire-Breathing Hobbit Lass

yay!!!! more more more!!! you simply MUST update more often!!!! *huggles Rose* XOXO Cor

Author's reply

Thanks! I'll see if I can make my updates more frequent. :-)

Samwisegirl12 · 12 October 2003 · Chapter 12: Sweet Surrender

Finally! It's about time that Estella stopped being mean to Merry! He might not say it, but when Frodo finds out, I'll bet he'll be thinking "I told you so" Lovely, Rose Gamgee! I can't wait for more!

Author's reply

Thank you for your wonderful feedback! :-)

Chigger · 11 October 2003 · Chapter 12: Sweet Surrender

I love it! It's about time she gave in. I love Frodo's pointed comments in the first few chapters. "So that's what they're calling it nowadays?" I love that! More! Please, more!

Author's reply

Hehe, yes, I'm rather fond of that line myself, though I was worried that it was a bit "un-Frodo," epsecially during the RotK timeframe. :P Thank you so much!

Coriel · 11 October 2003 · Chapter 12: Sweet Surrender

Hooray! *Militat omnis amans.* (Every lover is a soldier.) It certainly took her long enough, but I don't think she'll regret it. ~ Okay, this is going to sound bizarre, perhaps the result of my rather one-track mind, but your Merry reminds me of my Thranduil, which in itself should be testimony enough to his new-found maturity. Merry and the Elvenking; go figure. O_o

Author's reply

Thranduil, eh? Hehe, very interesting comparison, there! Thanks so much for reading! I really appreciate your feedback. :-)

Coriel · 11 October 2003 · Chapter 11: Conversations and Explanations

Come on, Estella! *Amor vincit omnia et nos cedamus amori.* (Love conquers all and let us yield to love.) He seems to be getting through to her, but she keeps clamming up again. *Varium et mutabile semper femina.* (Woman is a fickle and changable thing.) Hang in there, Merry!

Coriel · 11 October 2003 · Chapter 9: At Least Out Loud . . .

See, now it starts. It seems the Romans said it best: *Aut amat aut odit mulier: nihil est tertium.* (A woman either loves or hates: there is no third possibility.) Strange how we're hardwired that way. ;)

Coriel · 11 October 2003 · Chapter 8: Moments of Weakness

AHA! *Qui nimium multis "non amo" dicit, amat.* (Who says too often to many, "I do not love," does love.) You really are too transparent, Estella!

Coriel · 11 October 2003 · Chapter 9: At Least Out Loud . . .

Yes ~ as a former all-out StrWrs freak, I picked up on that one pretty quick! I must admit my favorite part about that scene has always been Threepio, though. ;) Romance in and of itself is slow to impress me, and I even squirmed through the Aragorn-Arwen scenes in TTT, though I suppose I'm finally warming up to it now at 18yrs-old. Blame my sheltered life! ~ But of course I don't have anything against this kind, and I'm likely to be writing some of my own soon. *Cum laude!*

Coriel · 11 October 2003 · Chapter 2: Something Different

I must admit that I generally relate to Elves more than to Hobbits, and you will usually find me hanging out in Lasgalen or Ithilien, but you're really opening the Shire for me! Some refreshingly homey images after some of the things my chosen characters often have to endure. :) I started this story on recommendation from my sister, Chigger, and I've since decided to follow it to the end!

Coriel · 11 October 2003 · Chapter 6: A Rain of Petals

Yeah, pretty hobbity. Cute, though! Since you're looking for suggestions, I think they ought to have ridden away on Bill, with maybe ribbons and flowers in his tail and *Just Married* painted on his flanks! Just adorable!

Le Rouret · 7 October 2003 · Chapter 12: Sweet Surrender

If I may quote my mother when I told her I was going to marry a certain individual: "Well, finally! What took you so long to figure it out?" Pippin's going to drop his teeth when he hears of this! Thanks for the story -- I've really been enjoying it. And I hope another chapter of the Pippin/Diamond story is forthcoming soon . . . . please????

Author's reply

*giggles* Yeah, it seems Estella was the only one who didn't see how perfect she and Merry were together. I'm glad she finally figured it out. ;-) Thank you, I'm so glad you're enjoying this story! Also, I recently updated Stars May Collide, if you'd like to check that out. :-)

Coreinha · 6 October 2003 · Chapter 12: Sweet Surrender

squeeeee!!!! *dances with delight* FINALLY!!! *scoops Merry and Estella up and dances around madly with them* Ah, that was delightful, thank you so much for a lovely chapter, I look forward to the next! XOXO Cor

Author's reply

Thanks so much! *joins Coreinha in dancing with delight*

Le Rouret · 2 October 2003 · Chapter 11: Conversations and Explanations

Whoooooooooooopsss! I figured it'd have to be something like that. Poor girl -- that hurts like the devil. I liked the comparison with Eowyn, though. Sometimes the bravest thing you can do isn't fight a monster, but simply go on with life. She REALLY reminds me of myself! That must be why I like her so well. But why, why, WHY is she so stubborn about Merry?! Can't she see how perfect he is for her? Then again, it took me two years. Hmmm . . . Keep it up! I'm really enjoying it!

Author's reply

I'm really glad you liked the Eowyn comparison! And you're right about "simply going on with life." Well said. :-) Hehe, I love it when my readers can identify with a character I'm writing. Makes them seem a bit more real. Thank you so much! Your reviews are always very encouraging.

Coreinha · 1 October 2003 · Chapter 11: Conversations and Explanations

awww! *huggles Merry* He's gonna get through to that girl yet! How adorable! Keep it coming, I want more, soon! XOXO Cor

Author's reply

Thanks so much! Hehe, I think the appendix proves that he does eventually get through to her. ;-) But you'll see my interpretation of how he does in the next chapter. I hope it meets your expectations!

Coreinha · 30 September 2003 · Chapter 10: A Slip of the Foot

GAH! ok, I don't HATE you, but SHEESH!!!! *giggles at the image of Merry falling on his ass* lol, hurry up and post more soon, as well as your other fic!! I need more Pippin and Diamond! Good work, as usual! XOXO cor

Author's reply

Hee hee, sorry. *adjusts halo* And I don't know when the next chapter for Stars May Collide will be up, but it shouldn't take me very long. Maybe sometime this weekend. Thanks for reading!

Coreinha · 25 September 2003 · Chapter 9: At Least Out Loud . . .

I'm really enjoying the two ficcies you're writing, so sweet! oh, and btw, I'm a big disney buff as well, I actually wrote a term paper on the music of Disney, and got an A on it, at that! Anyways, update soon, I need my warm fuzzy hobbit romance fix!! XOXO Cor

Le Rouret · 25 September 2003 · Chapter 9: At Least Out Loud . . .

Yep, caught the "Star Wars" reference -- that scene made me squirm the first time I saw it in the theaters (gimme a break; I was in junior high), but now it's one of my favorite scenes. And I, like you, like "Hercules!" Having a little girl makes one a quasi-expert on the whole animated movie thing. Estella's a stubborn little thing, isn't she? Merry'd better step up his campaign or she'll end up hiding in the closet until he leaves. Then again, he might like that! What's appallingly forward in broad daylight is lent credibility in the dark, after all. Keep it up! I'm enjoying it very much.

Author's reply

Ahh, a girl after my own heart - Star Wars *and* Disney! Though, with the latter, I suppose having a kid would probably do that to you. ;-) And yes, Estella is quite stubborn. If I were her, I would've given in a looong time ago. ;-) Thank you so much for the feedback! I really appreciate your reviews, and I'm very glad you're enjoying this.

Samwisegirl12 · 22 September 2003 · Chapter 8: Moments of Weakness

This is such a cute story! Keep those updates coming, Rose Gamgee! :)

Author's reply

Thanks so much! I'm glad you're liking this story!

Le Rouret · 21 September 2003 · Chapter 8: Moments of Weakness

Whoops. Not quite so unsusceptible as she thought she was, is she? Dang it, she IS like me!

Author's reply

Heh heh, just wait... she'll soon discover for herself that she's quite susceptible indeed. ;-)
