This story still brings me such joy. I hope you're doing well, my friend! I recently moved myself, mom, and Pippin pup across the country to New Jersey. What a change from the desert southwest! *hugs hugs*

A wonderful image of the Hobbits, Pippin and his kite, Frodo combing Merry's hair with his fingers. Am glad Aragorn took the chance.

Awww...sniffle...I loved it, and it does fit right into that story, like a peice of a puzzle. Good job! I loved Aragorn's observations and the characterizations of all the hobbits. Bravo!

A very belated thank you Pipkin! I am so glad that you think that it fits and that I did a good job with the characterisations! : )

Indeed, a moment of quiet peace needed by all of them. Lovely images here, particularly of Frodo running his fingers through his Merry's hair.

No, Pippin almost didn't make it, but I am so glad that he did! What a wonderful glimpse into the Healer's mind; Aragorn's reflection upon healing his smallest soldier--which could have turned either way. And then observing all of his patients sharing in the simple delight of a kite. The whole scene of Frodo, Merry, and Sam sitting upon the grass surveying Pippin was absolutely perfect. :-) Pippinfan

Thank you so much T, I am so glad that you liked it. I had that first line in my head, and the whole story just grew from it. I can really see the four of them flying that kite, and the other folks watching... : )

What a wonderful inset to add to one of my 'keep to re-read many times' story favourites Marigold.
