Hi there, just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed reading your story. I liked how Aragorn tracked down what had really happened to the two boys. Hopefully there will remain peace in the village.

harrowcat · 22 April 2006 · Chapter 11

I'm back! This is really keeping my attention Misty - well done and thanks.

Author's reply

Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying it. :)

I knew it! Poor lad he must have really been scared to dead when the house burned down... and than with all the tension hanging in the village he did the worse thing he could do.

Author's reply

True enough. Knowing his father's temperment, he didn't want to stick around and have his father start hating him, but running was not exactly the best thing to do, either.

Fire · 17 April 2006 · Chapter 6

This starts to sound like a kid getting himself in trouble and deciding he'd beter not be found to get a good spanking from his dad. Not the best way to think in a village like this one.

harrowcat · 16 April 2006 · Chapter 5

All this vengence and no one has actually looked for the children? To get this situation cooled down is so very difficult - but then, if any one can do it, Aragorn can! Happy Easter BTW!

Author's reply

Yes, Aragorn does have his work cut out for him with this village. They've allowed their distrust and hatred of each other to overpower their common sense. But I think Aragorn is up to the challenge. ;-) And Happy Easter to you, too.

harrowcat · 14 April 2006 · Chapter 3

RESTORE peace? It doesn't sound like there has ever been peace in this village. At least the healer has the ability to be neutral but it must be awful to be the only woman left in the village. I don't suppose that these two lads are friends in spite of everything and have gone off together for an adventure?

Author's reply

True, although there was an uneasy peace in the village, they have never really trusted each other, and are quick to anger. I think the healer feels worse about watching what the villagers do to each other than worrying about being the only woman left. Her duty as a healer demands that she stay and help where she can. As to the two boys, well you'll find out a little more about them in chapter four.

harrowcat · 13 April 2006 · Chapter 2

Ooh! the plot thickens. Men against men is awful and tit for tat never works but leads to war. So is, whoever is kidnapping the sons, trying to forment trouble?

Author's reply

Exactly. Tit for tat and revenge for wrongs play a bit part in the daily lives of these villagers. More will be revealed as the story develops.

Hehe, sorry, the review before was mine. I did not get to put my name in! Namarie! ~Arwen

Oh dear! What a terrible fight! I am thinking there is some rotted, bitter people here and secret grudges, perhaps many! So if it wasn't the man who took the guys son and destroyed his property--why and who! Cant wait to see! This story is a very origianal story, I bet if you changed characters and such you could write a book from it! Its interesting so far, and its only the second chapter! Cool. Namarie & God bless! ~Arwen

Author's reply

Actually, I was inspired to write this story by reading the news. I had to change details to make it fit the LOTR universe, but I do agree that this is more a universal story, not one confined to this particular fandom. You're right about the bitterness in this village, you'll see a bit more of that as the story develops.

harrowcat · 12 April 2006 · Chapter 1

Oh I hope this isn't a one-off as it is a great start. It was very reckless but it did save the man's life.

Author's reply

I'm glad I caught your interest with this. Yes, Rumen was a bit reckless, but he's still young and didn't see another choice.

Arwen of Lorien · 11 April 2006 · Chapter 1

Ohh, can't wait to see more of this story!! I like Rumen, how young did you make the brave ranger? If you would call it bravery, still, putting yourself on the line for another is a great deed! -like a raging river ready to burst through a dam- I like that! What has put this town so? I know I will find answers soon enough, you write so well so quickly! God bless! ~Arwen

Author's reply

Thanks, I'll have the next chapter up tomorrow. I'll tell you the secret as to how I can post so quickly. (I have the story written first, and then post each chapter. Shhh, but don't tell anyone.) ;-) I think Rumen would be in his early 20's, though I never specified his age. I'm glad you like the metaphor. Somehow, 'like a ticking time bomb' just didn't seem appropriate to the time of the story, so I had to find something new. As to what is going on in the town, that will unfold as the story develops.
