Lovely. So sad, so powerful, so tender. So much in only a few words.

Gotta love an obviously "pre-Lothy" Eomer.

Yes, You see I used this in my Tide of Destiny. Drabbles are good at providing inspiration. LBJ

If this were a picture, it would make a nice montage of Eomer snapshots. Lurved it, especially the ones mentioning Lothy. Thanks to you Eomer is my favorite mortal now.

What a time to admit he's in love, in love, in love with a wonderful girl! (Sorry, couldn't resist....) And Eomer is already claiming superior experience for all he's not thirty while Aragorn's pushing fifty. Heh! Transverse doesn't quite strike me as the word that ought to have been used here, btw. Cross, perhaps.

I did wonder if everyone would get this - twisting someone around their little finger may be a uniquely British expression - I am not sure. BTW - I thought Aragorn nearer eighty - but my maths are never good. Thanks for the suggestion about - transverse - I should have sent this to my beta! I imagine I must have had the journey in mind and been thinking of them tranversing the land!LBJ

Interesting look at Saruman of the many colors there, followed by Eomer finding himself stirred by the King Returned, the lackluster letter that failed to express his growing love and lust, and then getting waylaid! Poor Eomer!
Author's reply
Ha, you found these. I wrote them some time ago but still like the concepts. LBJ

That is a very brave - or very stupid advisor. One likely to wake in the morning with a rather bad headache, wondering how he got to be in a heap on the floor outside the royal bedchamber. I liked watching Eomer struggle over his letter-writing - and ending up by writing about horses. I hope Lothiriel can read between the lines. And the image of the flock of birds, whirling and wheeling at sunset is beautiful. Saruman. Nutty as a fruitcake. But dangerous. Lovely pictures of Eomer's life.

Thank you. Your review is, as always, a pleasure to read. I am sure Lothiriel can read between the lines! LBJ

These are beautifully written. I was especially intrigued by this: The fate of the quest teetering on the judgment of one tall Horselord I never thought of that before! That was indeed a very pivotal moment.
Author's reply
Thank you for your kind words. I had always thought of this as a pivotal moment - not just for the immediate quest. It began the special lifelong relationship between Éomer and Aragorn which was so sadly ignored in the film. LBJ
