It would be a difficult thing for Frodo to fully comprehend. But the image of Esme with mushroom on his blouse will stay with me for some time, I think.

what a lovely, sad, touching little story, Iorhael. Very perceptive of Esme to see all that in the boy's eyes... and how heartbreaking "are you going to be my momma until she comes back?" :( Sadness! Poor widdle Fwo-do!
