Real nice... Elrohir really blames himself, and Legolas does not blame him... Even so he is feeling this way thier is no way they would know a bear would atack, it isn't as though he planned it... You can feel for him... Nice job...

Forgive the long delay in answering. The review alert feature doesn't work, and I hadn't checked this story in a while. You are so right. It was simply a case of very bad timing. The prank itself wasn't meant to harm Elladan, either. It was just meant as fun. Legolas realized that. I felt for Elrohir, too, but he will recover and be himself again. Author Reply: I forgot to say thank you.

Nayru · 24 February 2006 · Chapter 2

'Lo White Wolf! Wow! this is really good and sweet! At first I thought Aragorn(Estel)would blame him, but I guess everyone has his fault. You make Legolas really sweet and wise and I am deeply delighted of his way of thinking. You are wise, you know. I couldn't be able to write things like that. Keep it up White Wolf.

Author's reply

Thank you. The only one to blame anyone was Elrohir blaming himself. Legolas may be young by elvish standards, but I believe he is wise, as I think most people are, who take the time to observe and think things through. Thank you. I try to put myself in my characters' shoes and say what I think they would say, so I can be true to their nature. I will indeed keep it up.

sofia · 17 February 2006 · Chapter 2

good story. So it was a bear, Aha...

Author's reply

Thank you. Nothing evil, no spider, just a bear.

Lady Saruman · 17 February 2006 · Chapter 2

Yes, I knew it! That thing that attacked Legolas wasn't a spider, it was a bear! OK, oops, I got carried away. Good story you wrote there. The only fault that I could find with it was that it was short. See, if you haven't checked my reviews for your story "The Wrong Path", then you can read them there. That story was nice and long and angsty. But I don't blame you for making this story short; you still have the story "Dragonfire" in progress. Well, great story, with a perfect conclusion. I certainly do hope that you write more stories. Hershey's kisses/hugs, Lady Saruman ^_~

Author's reply

I think a lot of people were expecting that the attacker would turn out to be a spider for real, but Legolas was right: they only live in Mirkwood. The bear wasn't evil, just injured. I needed a simple catalyst for the story. The reason this story was short is because it was written for the Teitho contest, and the limit for those stories is around twenty pages, though sometimes people send in slightly longer ones. It's necessary since we only have two weeks to read all the entries and vote on our favorites. I will usually have one long story going, as well as these shorter ones, so have no fear. I'm glad you liked this one.

harrowcat · 16 February 2006 · Chapter 2

A nice ending to this tale of friendship. Lessons we all need to learn about trust and limits and loving forgiveness.

Author's reply

Thank you. I'm glad you liked it. Yes, those are lessons worth learning, as well as the one that says lies, even those not meant to hurt, have consequences.

Once again, you have written a wonderful story. If you write a book, you will be at least as famous as J.K. Rowlig are now! These stories are my inspiration when I write things in school, so thanks for leting people read them!

Author's reply

Thank you so much. That is a wonderful compliment. I sure would love to have her bank account. :o) If I can provide inspiration for you, that makes me happy. I hope you will continue to read and enjoy.

Hi again. It has been long time since i was here, but i see you still write good stories that we can read... I hope nothing serious happens to my dear elf... Then again, it seems so that in your stories something will always happen to him... This is good beginning, so keepo it up, and write more! T: Your finnish-reader...

Author's reply

Welcome back. It has definitely been a long time. Thank you, I do try to make my stories very readable. Well I can't remark on what happens to Legolas, however, I've just posted Chapter Two, so you can find out for yourself.

pipinheart · 12 February 2006 · Chapter 1

This is a nice story, Elrohir telling a white lie seems to have had consequences. Wants revenge on his brother, but Legolas and Aragorn get involved...I am curious what the danger is, or is thier a spider really there, and not a joke at all in the end...

Author's reply

Thank you. Even a white lie not meant to hurt has its consequences. In this case, Legolas and Aragorn get themselves involved in Elrohir's lie, and things go dreadfully wrong. The next chapter will reveal what is attacking Legolas.

Delrauko · 10 February 2006 · Chapter 1

Wow, whitewolf! This is really awesome how you foreshadow. The part where Aragorn will regret leaving Legolas! I mean it was cool!

Author's reply

Thank you. I love foreshadowing. You'll soon see why Aragorn will regret his decision to leave Legolas.

awww man! i agree with Galimeril. you've done it again... and again... and again until we readers all die. you killed me with torture! you did that to me in your story "Dragonfire", and now you're doing it AGAIN! i have an idea here. any guys reading this will wet their pants, i think. well, you've done a great job with this story. it's actually scary, like someone telling a white lie and it turns REAL! ahhhhhhh!!!! like the other reviewers, i agree with them, i don't think that thing Legolas has to face is a spider, no matter how much it may seem to be. and Aragorn! he's a really good eavesdropper, probably from his ranger days, especially w/Elladan & Elrohir not hearing him. but if Aragorn had stayed after Elladan had gone, then he could have found out it was a joke and all that. but on the negative side, they wouldn't have gone hunting, and whatever that thing battling Legolas was would probably have gotten Imladris in danger. so in a way that prank was both helpful and harmful at the same time. i see you are updating next week, and "Dragonfire" in a couple of weeks... why does it take that long? mis.: plz visit my website, newly established: www.councilofelrond.com/members/LadySaruman , and if you are a member of that site then you can sign my guestbook. if you aren't a member, you can register @ www.councilofelrond.com . good luck with your next update! Hersheys kisses/hugs -Lady Saruman ^_~

Author's reply

Don't die! I want all my readers whole and healthy. Thank you. I wanted it to seem real. Of course, I can't say yet whether it's a spider or not. Aragorn has had plenty of practice eavesdropping. I think he may have to do a lot of it in self-defense from his brothers playing pranks on him. He and Legolas finally did figure out that the spider story was all a prank on Elrohir's part. Not thinking anything was dangerous, they just wanted to witness the joke on Elladan. Imladris may or may not have been in danger, but other people might have. It usually takes a couple of weeks for me to write a chapter and get it edited to where it is presentable to readers. The next chapter of this story is written and just needs a few touches, which is why it can be posted in a week. I'll visit your website as soon as I get the time, I promise.

sofia · 9 February 2006 · Chapter 1

First off- congrats on this story making 3 place. I do love the twins, and the beginning certainly peeked curiosity. I do wonder what exactly is coming at Legolas. It couldn't be a spider, right? Update soon!

Author's reply

Thank you. I also love the twins. I thought, in this case, starting near the end and then going back and working through the rest of the story was the best way to go. Glad it made you curious. Of course, I can't say what's after Legolas, but I hope to update next week, so you won't have to wait too long to find out.

Galimeril · 9 February 2006 · Chapter 1

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! YOU'VE DONE IT AGAIN!!!!!! Not *another* cliffie!!! You are so *EVIL!!!* I love your story, you always make it seem so real! I can't wait for you next update! You should have gotten First Place for this one!!!

Author's reply

I try not to be evil, but that was just a good place to end this chapter. Thank you. Saying my stories "seem so real" is a wonderful compliment. I hope to update next week. There are always some great stories for each of the Teitho Contests, so third place is an honor. Glad you thought it should have won.

Brenda G. · 9 February 2006 · Chapter 1

OK, I'm on the edge of my seat already! When is the next chapter up?? This is good stuff!

Author's reply

I'm glad I was able to get your excitement up. I will update next week.
