MTnSlzfnGnxSzb · 9 February 2012 · Chapter 4: Hope Eternal (Faramir, Aragorn)

Really cute pircute! We are "Lord Of The Rings" fans also!

rSFitnsEUqTdPkwmU · 8 February 2012 · Chapter 17: Different Perspectives (Elrond, Celebrían)

My favirote Christmas tradition? Getting birthday presents on Christmas Eve.

Elena Tiriel · 12 February 2010 · Chapter 9999: Unexpected Company (Pippin, asst. Gamgees)

Oh, P.S. And I can't wait to try out the technique for making whipcord.... LOL!

Elena Tiriel · 12 February 2010 · Chapter 9999: Unexpected Company (Pippin, asst. Gamgees)

Oh, Gwynnyd, these Yule Mathoms are such a treat! I think my favorites are Eru's desperate creation of Ëa, just for a little peace and quiet, and the soggy grapes (LOL! on not being able to remember the names of all of Sam and Rosie's amazingly large brood)... But my absolute favorite is the tipsy trolls! Thank you for such a good giggle! - Barbara

websterans · 21 August 2008 · Chapter 24: Planning Ahead (Arathorn, Gilraen)

Oh, the other prompts are fun, but this? This is a real treasure.

Raksha The Demon · 5 March 2006 · Chapter 11: Cacophony (Eru, Valar)

This may usurp STOLEN KISSES as my favorite - very original and totally funny. Varda wearing Vegas glitter indeed! Loved the Maiar bubble-gum music!

Pipkin Sweetgrass · 6 January 2006 · Chapter 18: Keep Reminding Yourself, All Birds are Edible (Boromir)

ROFL! I loved this, Lindelea told me about it and I'm glad she did. Well done!

Larner · 6 January 2006 · Chapter 19: Spring Rites (Éowyn, Éomer, Lothiriel)

How indeed would I recognize it, eh? First read "Warrior Scarlet" in September, 1962, and I've loved it ever since, as well as every one of her books I've ever read--have somewhere in the neighborhood of 25, I think. My love affair with Sutcliff predates even my love affair with Tolkien and Lewis. Love the horsehead masks, the mock stallion battle, and, of course, the image reminiscent of Drem heading back to the bonfire he helped kindle with the hand of the one he'd finally realized he loved in his. And here Lothiriel has her first truly Rohirric experience with he who will be her husband. Just wonderful imagery.

Lyrelle · 6 January 2006 · Chapter 5: Finding a Little Time Alone (Faramir, Bergil)

Hah! This made my hitherto gloomy morning much more cheerful. :-)

Author's reply

Thanks! Juno and AranelTook were so evil with some of those prompts. They really stretched our creativity! And I'm sure Bergil could make a perfect pest of himself sometimes (as all 9 year olds can!) when Éowyn just wanted some quiet. Gwynnyd

Larner · 6 January 2006 · Chapter 9999: Unexpected Company (Pippin, asst. Gamgees)

ONLY Sam and Rosie's children could have pulled that off, and it was marvelous to see Pippin accepting and honoring the gift, which is a BIT premature in its presentation. Lovely!

Larner · 6 January 2006 · Chapter 24: Planning Ahead (Arathorn, Gilraen)

Yes, the gift of foresight is VERY strong in this family, isn't it? Wonderful! And thanks for a wonderful way to wind down the last day of the official Christmas season!

Larner · 6 January 2006 · Chapter 23: Stolen Kisses are Always Sweeter (Faramir, and...)

What a tryst to interrupt! No, NOT Elboron this time, was it? Lovely!

Larner · 6 January 2006 · Chapter 22: Old Menaces (Elladan, Elrohir, Celeborn)

Bilbo and Aragorn would undoubtedly have applauded the end of these three, and Gandalf would have laughed uproariously. Very wonderful!

Larner · 6 January 2006 · Chapter 21: Motherlode for Magpies (OC, Hobbits)

A wonderful look from a far different point of view of a wonderful scene from the book! Lovely!

Larner · 6 January 2006 · Chapter 20: More Than the Wise Know (Istari)

Very nice to see the subordinates in positive action.

Larner · 6 January 2006 · Chapter 19: Spring Rites (Éowyn, Éomer, Lothiriel)

You haven't read Warrior Scarlet, have you? Ah, a wonderful beginning to a long relationship.

Author's reply

The Rosemary Sutcliff "Warrior Scarlet"? Why, yes, I have. Why do you ask? ;-) She's also one of my favorite authors. Gwynnyd

Larner · 6 January 2006 · Chapter 18: Keep Reminding Yourself, All Birds are Edible (Boromir)

Aha--definitely disappointing, but still filling.

Larner · 6 January 2006 · Chapter 17: Different Perspectives (Elrond, Celebrían)

Perhaps too eager in many ways. Ah, so young to begin their duties; but they will become expertly deadly at it before they are done.

Larner · 6 January 2006 · Chapter 16: Worth the Risk (Nazgul)

Wonderfully, properly creepy.

Larner · 6 January 2006 · Chapter 15: Willing Sacrifice (OCs, Fellowship)

Watership Down meets LOTR. Now, THERE is an interesting juxtaposition. A crossover I'd have never thought of in a thousand years.

Author's reply

You know, I didn't realize that it was going to be 'Watership Down' until after I finished it. I was just trying to figure out some other 'walkers' who could shadow the Fellowship and come to grief in interesting ways. Gwynnyd

Larner · 6 January 2006 · Chapter 14: Web of Friendship (Arwen, Elanor)

And how proper for the daughter of Samwise Gamgee and the great niece of Uncle Andy in Tighfield.

Larner · 6 January 2006 · Chapter 13: Back to the Drawing Board (Saruman, OC)

Oops--it's back to the drawing board for this bunch! Heh!

Larner · 6 January 2006 · Chapter 12: Coming Home (Elanor, Sam, Rose)

Yes, she's still Elanorelle, she is. And it's good to have her home!
