I really like the atmosphere of caring that you have created around Frodo. It is *so* what the Fellowship is truly about! I enjoyed Merry's little comment about the Barrow-wight, and I felt for Pippin, as he thought of Denethor's pyre; most of all I loved Frodo's marvel at what a difference has been made--and I hope that somewhere along the way, he can be made to see that *he* has the credit for making that difference. And Gimli? Yes, that's *definitely* in character for Gimli!

Oh I am so glad that Frodo got to see the king with his head back in the right place. I always found that scene very touching and was glad it made it to the movie too. Very practical Aragorn - decaying dead orcs! YUCK!

Another strong detailed chapter. I love the way the Fellowship has reformed to support Frodo on a Quest - and resolve unfinished business. So Gimli needs to have a hand in some personal payback, eh? You write the love and care of Frodo's friends so well.

lbilover · 16 January 2006 · Chapter 3: The Cross-Roads

How healing it must have been for Frodo and Sam to see the king's statue restored! This journey in reverse is fascinating to read. You are doing a beautiful job of showing how each member of the Fellowship is/will be affected in such different ways- Pippin remembering Denethor on the pyre, Gimli riding off to see to the burning of the Orc bodies and Legolas's understanding of what else Gimli hoped to accomplish.

rabidsamfan · 16 January 2006 · Chapter 3: The Cross-Roads

Ah, lots of lovely Fellowship details. Legolas' singing for one. I've always liked the way that Tolkien has his characters willing to raise their voices in melody. And what a good idea to get rid of the corpses...*brrr* I'm glad Sam and Frodo don't have to see that. But, oh, I hope Shelob isn't hungry!

SlightlyTookish · 16 January 2006 · Chapter 3: The Cross-Roads

“We’ll make a hobbit of you, yet.” Is there anything better? :D Another great chapter! I love king still crowned with flowers, and how you describe Aragorn as both kingly and Ranger-like, and how the people of Minas Tirith gawk at the procession. It all seems so real. And eeee, I'm eagerly awaiting chapter four! :D

SurgicalSteel · 16 January 2006 · Chapter 3: The Cross-Roads

Another lovely chapter - you make it very clear that this particular journey is not just about Frodo, but about *all* of the Fellowship finding healing from the soul-wounds they've taken during the Quest. Just wonderful!

Mysterious Jedi · 14 January 2006 · Chapter 2: Resolve

I'd really like to see more of this. Fellowship interactions that show the promise of h/c... my kind of story! <>< Saved from sin through Christ, mj

Anso the Hobbit · 12 January 2006 · Chapter 2: Resolve

And the Fellowship sets out on a new Quest! Poor Sam. He saw aome of the things they did to Frodo and he has his own memories to battle too. It was very nice to see the scene with Sam and Aragorn too. Off to next chapter!

Anso the Hobbit · 12 January 2006 · Chapter 1: The Tower of the Sun

This is excellent and so interesting! I am very eager to see how this develops. Frodo is very corageous to attempt such a quest, but I can understand that being there will help him remember, although I very much doubt there is something good for him to remember. Still, it will help him heal perhaps. I am glad I finally got down to reading this story. :D

Linda Hoyland · 10 January 2006 · Chapter 2: Resolve

Aragorn is just so lovely ! I do so like the way you depict him.I am already gripped by this story.

lbilover · 9 January 2006 · Chapter 2: Resolve

This is a very powerful chapter, and very moving. Frodo is so brave to risk going back, even knowing that it may evoke such painful memories. But poor Sam, so worried for Frodo. But as much pain as may be in store for them (and us) the fact that the Fellowship will be together again is a delight- I love how you write the relationships among them.

Ariel · 9 January 2006 · Chapter 2: Resolve

Better late than never with a review, I always say. ;) I look forward to seeing how you will handle this. I'll put my vote in now for lots of strong Frodo with my Frodo angst (that's the secret to really intense angsty flavor, doncha know? Hehehee!) but however this one comes out, I am sure it will be a good story. It's from Shirebound! Thank you for posting it.

Niphrandl · 8 January 2006 · Chapter 2: Resolve

Ah so the Fellowship is reunited in quest once more! I had suspected that perhaps Faramir would replace Boromir but I see this is not to be. Ah well. Someone has to see to the affairs of the Kingdom.

Dreamflower · 8 January 2006 · Chapter 2: Resolve

I had no time to review this yesterday--but I just want to say how much I loved it. The interaction between them all is lovely: I especially like Aragorn's gentle insistence on taking care of Frodo and Frodo's altogether pointless worry about "what will people think". But what I like best is that now the others will have a chance to do what they wished to do all along--accompany Frodo to the end of his Quest, even though it is a somewhat different one. For instead of going to get *rid* of something, he is going to *recover* something--his memory of what happened. However it turns out, it will go a long way to mitigating the guilt the others must have felt for allowing Frodo to slip away from them.

Gentle Hobbit · 7 January 2006 · Chapter 2: Resolve

Ah, yes. The Fellowship will go together. That feels so satisfyingly right. And what better way to receive support through such a potentially frightening experience than to have, by your side, the very people who had pledged once before to be with you through all manner of evil. I have a feeling that more unresolved issues will be addressed than just Frodo's own.

Baggins Babe · 7 January 2006 · Chapter 2: Resolve

Yay! the Fellowship together again. Oh joy! I had Frodo going into Mordor ten years after, but it is always wonderful to read another author's take on things, and I just love hobbity goodness. Poor Sam - he must be worried, and I'm worried that he thinks Aragorn will be needed, but I'm delighted that he's going .......if you know what I mean! Oooh! Even Gandalf is going along. I'm so looking forward to more!

Andrea · 7 January 2006 · Chapter 2: Resolve

“I knew you would come with me,” Frodo said, his eyes shining. “I knew all of you would – which is why I left.” Well, this time all of them will be with him, he will not be able to escape again! I'm really glad to know that! I found lots of the questions spinning in my mind being aswered in this chapter, but I still have a bad feeling about revisiting Cirith Ungol... “For Frodo!” he heard echo through his thoughts. And "For Frodo" it shall be! Let's hope this journey will ease his mind!

Garnet Took · 7 January 2006 · Chapter 2: Resolve

I knew there was a story I kept expecting an update to: this was it. It will be nice, if that is a good word to use when we're talking about going into Mordor, for Frodo to have everyone there to support him in a way he didn't on the Quest. I'm looking forward to how this little trip is going to affect everyone else, as well as Frodo. Can't wait till you post the next part. GT.

Lily Baggins · 7 January 2006 · Chapter 2: Resolve

Oh, I'm reviewing both chapters here... just got caught up on this story! And I am so excited, because I can barely think of anything more fun to read than the Fellowship taking another trek together. Especially while Frodo is recovering, and given the possible perils they could face on the Road and afterward... and of course, I live for Fellowship banter, too. Frodo's determination here is perfect---I don't blame him a bit for wanting to return to the scene to best deal with the foggy memories. And Frodo with his feet up and having them rubbed by Aragorn---wonderful! Especially his worrying about Aragorn's dignity, too. :) And yes, I have a feeling---knowing you---that Frodo will certainly need Aragorn there with him on this journey. I really like Alcaren ... can I have his job? I'd give my eyeteeth to be a hobbit caretaker!

Armariel · 7 January 2006 · Chapter 2: Resolve

Oh my...another...and I haven't even finished the last one yet but I just had to start this one! My puter has been in the hospital and I've fallen hopelessly behind in my reading and writing, also Santa Claus brought me a new toy(a MIDI keyboard)and so my musical muse has got me by the hair of my head--I've written 4 pieces so far and am in the middle of another...so no telling when I'll ever catch up! Well, when I saw the premise I thought, No way! But after reading, it does make sense for him to go back....I myself scrapped a plan to have him visit a tower in order to try and conquer his horror of such. But yes, I think it will work! Wonderful as always!

Queen Galadriel · 7 January 2006 · Chapter 2: Resolve

Oh boy, I beg to differ with the notion that Bagginses are predictable. I suppose Frodo and Bilbo are exceptions, but I never would have expected this of all things. Goodness, he is so stubborn! But I hope this journey helps him in the long run. I shudder to think what's bound to lie ahead for him in the tower though. This is a really cool idea, Shirebound...very original. And now I'm hooked and I can't wait for more!!! :-) God bless, Galadriel

aprilkat · 7 January 2006 · Chapter 2: Resolve

Shirebound, I have to pause here and just tell you again how very beautiful your style is, how well you handle the characters of the story, especially Frodo and Sam, and how perceptive you are in arranging the story. Frodo is still amusingly in character - stubborn, aware of the dignity of others if not himself, and unflinchingly constant and unsparing of himself. I felt so moved during Sam's plea to Aragorn and Aragorn's sensitive understanding of what Frodo hoped to achieve with his painful quest - and then an unexpected flood of emotion, almost to tears, when Legolas and Gimli came in to offer their companionship. When Gandalf added himself to the reconstituted fellowship, I was done for. I do hope that when thoughts of Boromir come up (as I assume they must once the group resumes this part of the "Quest") that they treat him with kindness in their hearts, if not forgiveness. His nature was basically noble, which is what the Ring played on, and his absence will leave a hole in their journey. See, I'm already anticipating. Thanks for a lovely chapter.

Cuthalion · 7 January 2006 · Chapter 2: Resolve

Oh - poor Sam. Cirith Ungol was not only a nightmare for Frodo, wasn't it? “For Frodo!” he heard echo through his thoughts. Did you know that this was one of the very favorite Aragorn-moments in ROTK for me? Makes me still shiver every time I watch it. And thankyou for this tale!

SlightlyTookish · 7 January 2006 · Chapter 2: Resolve

Yay! The Fellowship sticks together! I'm so glad Frodo will have their company...I'm sure he'll need it! "Aragorn, it's undignified for the High King of the Reunited Kingdoms to be rubbing the feet of a battered hobbit. What if Alcaren should see you?" That made me giggle! :D
