Oh, Gondorrim lords and their ways with the family! Did you intend this "you father loves you" so creepy?

Author's reply

Hi, Yes, I did mean that - 'your father loves you' - Aragorn wants to convey to her that Imrahil is doing what he thinks best for his daughter. - Thanks for reading. LBJ

Lothiriel has done a good job of settling in as Eomer's wife - and he seems pretty pleased at being Lothiriel's husband. Lovely image of him coming in from the snowy plains to find his wife snoozing in the hall in his robe! And baby already on the way. Not that I'm surprised. I suspect they've done plenty of practising. Good story - most enjoyable!

Author's reply

I am sure they have practised a great deal. Thankyou for your reviews and I am glad you enjoyed it. I just hope you oke the next one. LBJ

harrowcat · 19 January 2006 · Chapter 13: Chapter 13

Oh!!! I am so going to miss updates on this. And you did indeed save the best bit 'til last!

Author's reply

Its always sad for me to say goodbye , but then i am on to the next one and I am grabbed by that. Thanks for your reviews. Happy reading. LBJ

Bodkin · 19 January 2006 · Chapter 12: Chapter 12

Nice one! Lothiriel was able to show herself well in front of her future people and then had the pleasure of squashing her brothers. A job for life of repairing Meduseld's tapestries doesn't sound all that wonderful to me - but then I'm not a properly-trained princess! I'm glad Eomer managed to sneak Lothiriel away - and her brothers are now unable to interfere in the post-wedding entertainment.

Author's reply

I think that our princess has at last found her role in life. LBJ

Oh my! *breathes* Now for a coherent review. I am very pleased that the fire was quickly dealt with, and the wedding was not delayed. I liked the contrast between Rohirric and Gondorian customs, and the way the feast was fairly simple. And I am very pleased that Imrahil finally apologized to his daughter, and they were able to put that behind them. It's a shame she doesn't have younger sisters, for he's learned his lesson now, and would not repeat it. And as for the rest... Very well done.

Author's reply

Perhaps Imrahil will pass the lessons on to his sons when they have daughters! LBJ

harrowcat · 18 January 2006 · Chapter 12: Chapter 12

Aprehension or Anticipation? Oh yes both at once! You do so well at all the description Lady Bluejay and I am loving it.

Author's reply

I hope you enjoy the last bit! LBJ

Dreamflower · 16 January 2006 · Chapter 11: Chapter 11

What an exciting chapter! Considering how much Lothiriel was enjoying the kissing, however, it is probably just as well they were interrupted, although I am sure Eomer would have preferred something a bit less drastic. Oh, and my compliments to you--it's very clever of you to realize how vulnerable to lightning Meduseld would be--I never would have thought of it myself, but now you point it out, it seems obvious.

harrowcat · 16 January 2006 · Chapter 11: Chapter 11

Ooh I felt that kiss sending shivers all the way down my spine! *Mm* And then, what a change of pace! I am glad that you are posting soon.

Bodkin · 16 January 2006 · Chapter 11: Chapter 11

The girl is definitely good in a crisis. Spending a thunderstorm calming horses will certainly get her points with the Rohirrim. As will sending Eomer off to Meduseld without any girlie hysterics. And only one kiss! The poor girl doesn't get many breaks! (Yet.) But standing at the top of a watch tower with Eomer isn't a bad way to spend an evening!

Bodkin · 16 January 2006 · Chapter 10: Chapter 10

It must be handy to have a couple of Marshals around who can sidetrack the bride's brothers! Although, now she can escape with Eomer, Lothiriel seems a little nervous about the prospect. Imrahil seems a little disconcerted by the 'not-queen-until-bedded' notion. Perhaps Lothiriel should have let him in on that one - given him something to brood over during the betrothal. Erchirion, on the other hand - deserved the little slap his sister aimed at him. I hope Lothiriel and Eomer have a lovely walk!

Author's reply

Yes, I could have done that but Lothiriel wanted him to get a shock in Rohan and she also wanted to put it out of her mind. LBJ

harrowcat · 15 January 2006 · Chapter 10: Chapter 10

What, only kiss and talk! I would want at least a cuddle too! *g* I like the way Lori is changing and I bet Eomer does too!

Author's reply

I am sure she will get a cuddle. And who wouldn't want one? LBJ

Dreamflower · 15 January 2006 · Chapter 10: Chapter 10

Goodness, she has definitely grown claws! Her brothers had better watch out!

Author's reply

Hi, She is just about to find her feet. By the way, in the little fic I am writing now, Hobbits have a speaking part! Be a while though as I am off on holiday. LBJ

Bodkin · 14 January 2006 · Chapter 9: Chapter 9

Here we have the very best way to get better acquainted with the king of the horse people. Especially since she proves to be better at riding than he thought she might be! And they are almost alone - as alone as you can be with guards in attendance. Imrahil should give up on the Gondorian propriety front. She's in Rohan, she's marrying Eomer - he should just shrug it off and let his future son-in-law manage Lothiriel. He seems quite good at it!

Author's reply

She is a very determined young lady under all that fluff. She practiced a lot so that she would not disgrace herself. LBJ

Dreamflower · 13 January 2006 · Chapter 9: Chapter 9

*splork!* Imrahil is going to have to loosen up. He started this, he betrothed her to someone without asking her first, and it was only lucky that it was someone as capable and responsible and amiable as Eomer--she is gently getting a bit of her own back, and he darn well deserves it. Of course he loves her, but he has not shown her any respect, and now he is reaping the consequence. She is asserting her independence as a future Queen and wife, and he can like it or lump it. Yet he's not really that bad, just a bit thoughtless--so I hope he *does* learn to loosen up, so that he and his daughter can part on fond terms. I really love the way Eomer is being so thoughtful and forthright with her. A lesser man would have taken credit for Eowyn getting her the riding outfit. And letting her know what she can expect as a horsewoman in Rohan, he's being very open and practical with her.

Author's reply

He will have to loosen up. He must realise he wont have any influence soon. LBJ

harrowcat · 13 January 2006 · Chapter 9: Chapter 9

I do love her when she is firm with her father! Great description of the riding.

Author's reply

She needs to be firm and it must be a great relief to ride in Rohan with Eomer. LBJ

Bodkin · 13 January 2006 · Chapter 8: Chapter 8

I wonder if Imrahil is rather wishing he hadn't started this... Or if he's thinking gratefully that Lothiriel will be Eomer's problem from now on... Or if he secretly finds it all hugely entertaining. I like it when Lothiriel shows flashes of knowledge and good sense - such as over the sheep - before reverting to fretting over how much wine she is allowed or whether her brothers will try to foil meetings between her and Eomer. She might realise that all she really needs is to get up bright and early, while the Princes of Dol Amroth are sleeping off their ale. Not long until the wedding now!

Author's reply

She is sensible really, but she is also quite young. A few chapters to go before the wedding. I got quite involved with her character. LBJ

Dreamflower · 12 January 2006 · Chapter 8: Chapter 8

How nice that Lothiriel is settling in so nicely to her new home. Eomer is a thoughtful and practical bridegroom--and I love his wry sense of humor with her. I look forward to seeing her ride, and her father's reaction!

Author's reply

She will definatley enjoy the riding and out her father in his place.LBJ

harrowcat · 12 January 2006 · Chapter 8: Chapter 8

I am looking forward to her meeting her new horse too! I do like the way that you are portraying the people of Rohan.

Author's reply

The people of Rohan always struck me as a straightforward bunch. LBJ

Bodkin · 12 January 2006 · Chapter 7: Chapter 7

Braids and wedding gowns. What a rebel! Still - at least Imrahil can look round Rohan and think that his daughter is simply showing respect for her new culture and indicating that she is not going to be a rigidly Gondorian queen beside their king. And, anyway, surely they're at the point now when, if Eomer's happy with it, no problem!

Author's reply

I think it's wonderful how one can be such a rebel in such small ways. LBJ

Dreamflower · 10 January 2006 · Chapter 7: Chapter 7

This is really fun. I am enjoying Lothiriel's quiet, but determined, defiance of all the stuffy rules she has always hated, and the way she is gradually escalating it. I also like the way Eomer is staunchly backing her up, not quarreling with her father, but simply and firmly taking her side. Perhaps, away from the dreaded aunts Imrahil will finally be able to loosen up again. But I have a feeling there may be a clash with the brothers somewhere along the line...

Author's reply

I am glad you find it fun. It pleased me to write about such a girlie girl for a change. LBJ

harrowcat · 10 January 2006 · Chapter 7: Chapter 7

I'm just getting caught up on reviewing the things I have been reading and I needed to pop in and tell you how much I am enjoying this. These are two characters that I haven't really followed or liked all that much but this is great.

Author's reply

It is always good when we enjoy something we do not narmally read. My Eomers tend to be the same - after all Tolkien tells us a lot about him - but all my Lothiriels are different. Take your pick. LBJ

Dreamflower · 9 January 2006 · Chapter 6: Chapter 6

*ROTFL* I love the way Lothiriel is so practical and methodical about experimenting with the information she has learned. And I think Lady Elnid is a perfectly delightful OC. Somehow I can imagine her voice as rather like Judy Dench! I would love to see a bit more of her! And the bit at the end, with Eomer just ignoring her father--priceless!

Author's reply

Yes, I must admit I rather liked Elnid. I will bear her in mind for another fic. LBJ

Bodkin · 8 January 2006 · Chapter 6: Chapter 6

It's a good thing Lothiriel had enough wine to loosen her tongue. Elnid was quite right to take them all to task. Innocence is one thing and ignorance is quite another! And it's rather amusing to have her practising her wiles on Eomer. She certainly seems to have come round to the idea of marrying him - even if leaving Dol Amroth and her family is rather distressing.

Author's reply

Well, wouldn't you come around to be happy about marrying him? I certainly would. LBJ

Bodkin · 8 January 2006 · Chapter 5: Chapter 5

Neither of these two seem very good at scheming! There were some potential revelations at the beginning - just as well that no-one will really mind a touch of impropriety, since all and sundry are determined to get them wed anyway. And then Lothiriel goes and displays her courageous, bold, decisive streak. Standing up to lions! It's a good thing that Eomer is rather lion-like himself - he will appreciate a bride who is more than a mouse.

Dreamflower · 5 January 2006 · Chapter 5: Chapter 5

My, this is a very enjoyable tale. I do like your brave and forthright Lothiriel. I am really liking this, in spite of nary a hobbit in sight.

Author's reply

Hi, glad you read it , in spite of there being no hobits. I'll try to put them in a future story. LBJ
