Willow bark tea! Also wirklich!

I love Elfhelm's story. Eomer should take note. And Lothiriel can wrong-foot Eomer with a glance. If she only knew what she was doing to the poor man it would be cruel. Mind you, he is doing similar things to her! And the most delicious thing of all, is that neither of them appears to have any idea of how obvious they are. Love this. Love it. (Now how will the sheer sexual tension hold out once they're actually married? Can't wait to find out.)

Author's reply

I found that certain people, because they do not really care what others do, think nobody cares what they are doing. They think they are invisible. And I love Elfhelm! Or rather a certain idea of what he could be, because he doesn't have a background story in the books and has been ignore in the films. In a way, those are my favourite Tolkien characters. As a fanfiction writer I can play with them much better.

Nilmandra · 10 December 2005 · Chapter 3: Chapter Three

I love how she absolutely discomfitted Eomer here. She is just going about being her and he he is beside himself with desire and frustration... though I am sure much of the frustration was fed by the desire!

Author's reply

And she doesn't have the slightest idea what she is doing to him. She doesn't even know that she can have this effect on a man.

daw the minstrel · 10 December 2005 · Chapter 3: Chapter Three

Eomer is certainly off balance. I really liked the moment when Lothiriel told him that he could ask for anything after what he and his people had done for Gondor.

Author's reply

In a way Éomer knows that Gondor owes the Rohirrim support, but for somebody who is so proud and fiercly independent it is still hard to ask for help.

Chibi-Kaz · 8 December 2005 · Chapter 2: Chapter Two

YES! At last, a ficcer with a truly literary background!!! I absolutely adored how you worked in the reference to "The Lion In Winter", quite possibly my all time favorite script. Do all Rohirrim have knives? *evil grin* Cheers, and can't wait for more, Chibi-Kaz

Author's reply

For some reason Geoffrey has always been my favourite of that wolfs pack. He is definitely the son with the most brain (I think). Do all Rohirrim have knives? - Yes, I think they have, but I have never considered them being barbarians.

Bodkin · 8 December 2005 · Chapter 2: Chapter Two

Something happens as soon as these two set eyes on each other that is quite magic. They both lose all common sense - and awareness of what is happening around them. I love the very public debate. As if it is Lothiriel's fault that Eomer didn't know who she was! What kind of healer goes round announcing to all and sundry that she is a princess? And he feels so deliciously awkward because he has been having lewd thoughts about his friend's daughter. And, behind him, to his complete ignorance, all those noble well-wishers' brains are clicking and coming up with the thought - 'very suitable match'. Little do they know that they are doomed!

Author's reply

Lothíriel is certainly blissfully unaware what is going on around her; Éomer does realize that they have attracted an audience - by he doesn't care.

Nilmandra · 7 December 2005 · Chapter 2: Chapter Two

I loved this chapter the second time around too. The verbal sparring was very well done. :D

Author's reply

Love match or sparring partners? What would be more fun for the onlookers?

Gandalfs apprentice · 7 December 2005 · Chapter 2: Chapter Two

This is fun! Good writing. I'm eager to read about the feast....

Author's reply

I suppose by now you've learnt that I skipped the feast. Hope it's still fun to read, anyway.

daw the minstrel · 7 December 2005 · Chapter 2: Chapter Two

Well that was rousing! I love seeing two clever strong people argue like this. But it sounds as if they have some explaining to do now. That should be even more fun.

Author's reply

Can you imagine how it is, when you expect that everybody is going to grill you about your behaviour but nobody actually does?

Elendiari22 · 3 December 2005 · Chapter 1: Chapter One

I have to admit to you that after reading the first chapter of "The Healer and the Warrior" I went over and looked you up on fanfiction.net. I have to tell you that I haven't had such an enjoyable evening in a long time! Your stories are brilliant, your characters awesome. I won't give away spoilers to the readers here, but I am looking forward to any and all other fics you write. Thank you!

Author's reply

Hey, you are cheating. There will be some more fics in the future but I have to take a break for a couple to month to concentrate on some exams I have to pass. But here I will be updating this story arc regularly.

Wonderful chapter and start to this next section. I loved the interaction between Eomer and Faramir and it will be interesting to see how this 'little' affair that Eomer evidently had will now play out in his eventual relationship with Lothiriel. I found his relationship with Gimli interesting and I loved it when he asked Gimli if he truly wanted him to give his opinion on the beauty of another woman when he was standing in front of Arwen. That was wonderful! :) Also, I had never considered the fact that there probably were many Rohirrim children running around Minas Tirith after the war and that he as the king would have been concerned about them. Nicely done and I can't wait until the next chapter!

Author's reply

Since the beginning of time armies have left this kind of legacy behind. And these children have always been stigmatized in one way or the other.

Kitty · 3 December 2005 · Chapter 1: Chapter One

*grummel* Das nennt man Cliffhanger!

daw the minstrel · 3 December 2005 · Chapter 1: Chapter One

What a great Eomer chapter. We see him as a king concerned for his people, as a friend, as a man. And I hope we're about to see him as a lover!

Author's reply

Oh yes, you are going to see Éomer as a lover - but definitely as a lover of the different kind.

Nilmandra · 3 December 2005 · Chapter 1: Chapter One

I love being Eomer's head like this. His thoughts about his land, his people, his king, whether he wants to be king and all that entails, is just a grand look into his person. How he interacts with others is amusing too - intimidating Faramir, however briefly... I think Faramir will learn to deal with him well!, the annoying Amorothos... I would strangle him too... then Elfhelm - someone who would put him him in his place if he needed it. Yet when we see him with Arwen we know that beneath all the gruff exterior words of honey can flow. And I can't wait for him to meet Prince Imrahil's daughter :>)

Author's reply

How to write from the point of view of a man as a female writer? Well, think about what you would do in a certain situation - and then let your character do the opposite.

Bodkin · 3 December 2005 · Chapter 1: Chapter One

I'm glad to see that Eomer can't get the healer out of his head. The past months have been frantically busy - and she's still niggling at him. I like the way he interacts with others - Faramir, Elfhelm and Amrothos are very different and he reacts differently with each: teasing Faramir (poor man - he's not quite sure what to make of it), friends with Elfhelm - yet in authority - able to be himself more than with any other, and irritated by Amrothos. I must say I rather like Amrothos, though - he can be witty and I definitely get the feeling he is very intelligent. The problems of Rohan are going to be very much on Eomer's mind, too. Wars don't just end and go away - I'm glad to see the aftermath considered. Even the aftermath of blond children being born in Minas Tirith. Clever of Eomer to wrong-foot Gimli over the Galadriel question - and he is most definitely more inclined to moon over dark maidens!

Author's reply

Oh yes, I'm thinking about Amrothos as a very intelligent guy but as a third son he hadn't had a real opportunity to use this intelligence in a constructive way. He had never been faced with a true challenge in life.
