I have a feeling that Merry is going to do a little tutoring of his own. Why do I have the feeling that he's going to recruit a very frustraited Pippin to help him. That would not be a bad idea, either. If Pippin and Merry can give Degger the help he needs, then they can get back to advancing their own lessons. Just a thought. Thanks. Garnet Took.

Your speculations are about half right--lol, but I won't say which ones. The story is pretty much written except for the ending, so I'll be updating again soon. Thank you for reading! Pippinfan

I love Pippin's reasoning about homework. I don't think I'll pass it on to my daughter since she already has a tendancy to feel the same way. Poor Degger. He works so hard but still has so far to go. Thanks for a great beginning. Garnet Took.

LOL, maybe I should have rated this as a PG-13! But I think most folks reading this are a bit older than I was at the time--or Pippin is in this story--and they know better. I hope. Yes, its true, poor Degger having to work double in order to keep up. Thank *you* for stopping by to read! Pippinfan

Grey Wonderer · 13 November 2005 · Chapter 0: Don't be frightened--its just me...again

Yeah! I am thrilled to see this prologue because I know that a Merry and Pippin adventure will follow and I do so love your Merry and Pippin! This is just the tonic that I need right now and I am rushing off to read it. Thank you, my dear friend, for induldging me again with an "Irrepressible tale"!

The challenge of all teachers with more than one student :) I'm looking forward to seeing how Merry saves the day :)

Well, I don't know about Merry saving the day; I think he's just interested in giving his friend a fair shake. Thank you for stopping by to read! Pippinfan

Oy! My secret is out :O LOL I still maintain that it is sound reasoning. I thought that sounded way too familiar - but why not, I am a Took ;) Well done :)

So do I! LOL, I thought it was too uncanny that we thought the same thing as kids! You're right--that is definietly Tookish thinking, and we know you're all Took! Pippinfan

Lovely! Merry's going to help Degger, and I hope he gets Pippin in on it too! If those two team up to give the lad a bit of private tutoring it will be a big help!

Oh, I'd say something here, but I can't. The story is pretty much written except for the ending. Your antenae are up again, aren't they, lol? Actually, the thing with writing short tales is that I leave very little room for a reader's imagination. It's one of those things I, myself, am trhying to learn not to do--conveying too much too soon. Thank you for reading! I'll be updating soon. Pippinfan

This is so promising! I did like Degger very much, so I'm looking forward to seeing how his problem gets solved. I love the banter between Pippin, Pervinca and Merry in the garden. And Pippin's "sass" for the teacher,LOL! I love the resigned way he headed for the corner. She's quite right, he's bored. And a bored Took is a dangerous Took. She'd better think up something before he does.

Thank you! I do have a penchant for writing dialogue, lol, can you tell? They're just kids being kids...hobbit style. Glad you like Pippin's sauce! Pippin's reasoning for doing homework came from a conversation that Pearl Took and I had a while back--it tickled me to no end to discover we thought the same thing on that subject. However, she had the IQ to get away with it. :-P Oh, you are *so* right about a bored Took--lol, you ought to know! Thank you for your wonderful encouragement! Pippinfan
