What a strange and interesting story!
But the ending made me laugh out loud, Pippin's clever quip about Merry losing control of his arms ever since he fell off the pony...

I'm glad you found it interesting as well as strange ;) Some times I have a strange twist in my brainstem.
Thanks for reading and responding, Lin :) :)

What a nasty dream. And I suspect it was more discovering that he could play the Merry role that scotched it - and that he had learned exactly how to do it from his big cousin.
Good thing it was far enough down the line that neither of them were distressed by the thought of Pippin watching his cousin drown.
Very spooky start!

Thank you :) Yes, it is often frightening what we do in our dreams. I was glad myself that Merry took it all so well. Thank you for reading and responding, Bodkin!

Very nicely done! Pippin just had to be jealous of Merry at some point in time. I love the little story that Pip wrote to rid himself of the dreams and the fact that all it really took to make things better was for Merry to have an awkward moment! Loved it! Hope there are more little stories coming.

Thank you GW :) I've found I'm writting wee stories a bit more than I used to so there may be more :) I've made use of the turning doodles into drawings thing myself a few times ;)

Yes 'writing it out' as Larner puts it can come back to haunt us! Enjoyed this Pearl.
Author's reply
hehehe Yes, we need to be careful of the evidence! Thank you, harrowcat :)

I Love It! I can remember feeling a lot like Pippin did at the time he wrote that. I have a friend who, when we were younger, could do no wrong, while I could do almost no right. I loved her and hated her at the same time. I don't remember if I had dreams of doing her harm, but I still understand where he's coming from. I glad he was able to see that Merry wasn't perfect, and that they ended up giving each other a hard time when one of them did something clumbsy or uncouth.
Thanks.

Thank you, Garnet! My huband is one of those "practically perfect" types, but I love him inspite of it :D

Interesting, interesting! And how we sometimes hate those we love best!
Author's reply
Yes, the two emotions are often closely tied. Thank you, Larner :)

Ah yes; I knew it had to be Pippin, but I didn't cotton to it being a dream--I thought he was either writing down a fantasy or making an attempt at a novel.
*chuckle* I loved the conversation with the two of them. It shows just how strong their bond is, and how much both have grown that they can discuss it like that. Very nice!
Author's reply
Thank you :) Hard to hide the Pippinishness :D Thank you for reading,& responding Dreamflower!

You know what I like most about this? The fact that Merry and Pip can talk about anything to one another, and not hold back. If only we could all have such honest and loving communication with everyone in our own lives.
Author's reply
Yes, that kind of honesty can be tough to find. Thank you, m'dear, for reading and responding :)
