I'm enjoying this very much, especially how Pippin stands up both for Aragorn and for TY.I also enjoyed the scene for Aragorn and Faramir as they are my favourite chracters.

Author's reply

I have always like Faramir but haven't written too much with him. I have a story that I never finished with him in it and I do hope to get back to that one before long. I thank you for the review and I am glad that you are enjoying this.

LOL! Pippin is just being a little stinker in this one! Very well written--so far. I've only gotten to the part where Pippin and the Gang start playing the ball game and Aragorn reluctantly assenting to more than likely have a talk with Pippin...I am only guessing at that because as I said, I haven't finished it. LOL, so don't tell me exactly what he does. I'm savoring the rest for tomorrow's lunchtime. Oh, yeah, chapter one is every bit 19 pages, but I'm loving it. :-) All of your characters are *very* well portrayed here. Excellent job. :-) I'll be back again tomorrow... Pippinfan

I probably should have split this into three parts instead of two. Funny thing is I almost posted the entire thing as one long chapter. LOL I wrote it without breaking it into chapters and so when it came time to post it, I wasn't sure where to split it. Glad you are enjoying it and I won't give away anything at all. Thanks so much for reading!

Wow! This story is great! Pippin did a lot in his very own way for the King's reputation and I've no doubt, that Strider will be a fair judge. After all, Pippin really didn't know that he was defiling the "King's Fountain". (To tell you the truth, never before have I heard the expression "to defile". I had to look it up!) And Merry has a very hard time here. It's not easy for him to let his little cousin go, after all that happened. “I am still trying to let go of you, Merry-lad,” Frodo laughed. Frodo is a very wise hobbit. He knows exactly, what to do to calm down his Merry.

Another great story from you :) I love how Pippin is doing his work in the city, helping with the children (being the youngest of his cousins, he knows so much about tagging along and trying to keep up with the older children) and also informing the people of the city about their new king.

Author's reply

Thank you! Pippin does know a bit about what Ty is going through and that should make it easy for him to give good advice on the subject. I do think that he would enjoy playing with the lads as a way of forgetting some of the more serious events of the quest, but he is still finding time to answer a few questions about Aragorn along the way. Thanks for the review!

I really enjoyed reading this. I can just imagine it all happening from Pippin's adventures with the boys to Merry trying to learn to step back a little. And a story that examines the people of Gondor's transition from Steward to King is a rarish occurance. Can't wait for more.

Author's reply

Thank you for the lovely review. I am glad you are enjoying this one. I will be posting the other part by Wednesday and I do appreciate your reading this. I hadn't thought of the transition as being uncharted ground but now that you mention it I haven't seen too much on the subject before. Looks like Pansy's little donated bunny is traveling new roads.

Ah, lovely, another GW story (though I haven't got back to finish reading the Hammer story yet, either. Where does the time go?) and the summary sounds quite intriguing... Here's hoping for no interruptions!

I was surprised when Marigold finished the Beta on this with all that wa going on in her RL. I figured that if she could finish the Beta that I should post it even though I have the other one running too. Makes me feel a bit too productive to have two stories at once. Stop by and read when you have time and thank you for reviewing the prologue. It starts the story out properly for me to see your prologue review.

Mum's the Word · 12 September 2005 · Chapter 1: Part 1

Ooh, this is very good, GW! I can hardly wait to read the next chapter. I hope Pippin is given a chance to arrange for some play areas within the city. And surely the King won't be too harsh, like making Pippin responsible for overseeing the recreational activities of certain underage youth, or anything like that, will he? Chewing my nails in suspense, Mum's the Word

Author's reply

Don't chew those nails. You may need them. Thanks for the lovely review and all of your questions should be answered by Wednesday. This one is only two parts long so save the nails. I was very lucky to have been given this little Plot Bunny. It was fun to write. Pansy gave this one a great start!

Pipspebble · 12 September 2005 · Chapter 1: Part 1

What a delightful beginning! The lads are so real, the characerizations rich and the descriptions of the Shire lush, and Pippin's homesickness very much felt. I love how you have him teaching the lads gentle lessons about their King and his justness and fairness, even as he 'hangs out with the guys.' I can't wait to see what happens next. Great start! :-)

Author's reply

Thank you! Glad that you are enjoying it. This one is only two parts long and so all of your questions will be answered in the next post. It should be complete by Wednesday. This little donated Bunny was lots of fun to write and Marigold really did a great job of lining it all out for me. Thanks for the lovely review!

Pippin is a wonderful representative of his people -- and his king. He's doing a lot of good in the City, and hopefully his friends will come to understand it.

Author's reply

Pippin's methods are always slightly different from what folks expect because he's Pippin. I think they will all come to see the value of his visits throughout Minas Tirith before long. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Bodkin · 12 September 2005 · Chapter 1: Part 1

Good tale. And I somehow suspect that Pippin's wanderings and interaction with the populace of the city might be even more beneficial, in their way, to the rule of the King than the planting and building of the others. Poor old Merry, though. He does find it hard to let his little cousin be his grown-up cousin. Looking forward to more.

Author's reply

The rest of this one should be up by Wednesday now that 'someone we know and are grateful too' solved my format problem. (Thank you again for that.) Thank you also for reviewing and I am glad that you like it so far.

Ahything with with your hobbits and your O.C.s has got to be good...here I go...

Author's reply

I love the way you always stop by and review the prologue. I do hope you enjoy this one. It comes from such a good little Plot Bunny and unlike most of my stories, this one has been Beta'd! LOL
