Wow... I know it's been said before but... this was really beautiful! I found myself thinking under my breath, "hang on, Pip... no, don't think about down and DEFINITELY don't let go!" It did take me a bit to figure out the other character was a peregrine, I'm a little slow... I thought maybe it was an eagle or something - D'uh!! LOL I just saw this part of the movie yesterday, and really realized how high that was... he would have had a long time to talk to himself as he climbed. I also liked how he thought that maybe Frodo and Sam were climbing too.
Anyway, just wonderful, Pear!

Thank you, AspenJules :) I don't often write movie version but happily do when a story from it comes into my head. Yes, that was a very long high climb for a wee hobbit.

Oh, how lovely! I love the voice of the falcon: Such a strange thing. They burn their nests. *hugs those lines!* Now I know it's possible to be breathtakingly poetic as well as funny. ;-)
Even though Pip didn't get to kill a troll in the movie, I'm so glad they added him lighting the beacon--especially since it inspired you to write this fic! Well done!

Wow *embarrassed blush* "beautifully poetic" . . . gosh . . . thank you :) Yes, I missed Pippin getting squashed but I loved his chance to prove himself to Gandalf byt doing an assigned task well. Thank you so much!

Oh, such a delightful, delightful movie-verse gapfiller! Lovely! Lovely! The lamp being described as a small sun threw me at first, but I find I LOVE it! Excellently written. The peregrine aiding Peregrin. Wonderful!
Author's reply
Thank you so very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm a bit of a bird-brain, so it wasn't to hard to think of how a bird might interpret a lamp :) Thank you :)

Wonderful movie-verse, Pearl! Pure Pippin enjoyment, a glimpse of his tender soul...not only tender, but resolved, willing to go the extra mile (or heights) for a beloved friend. The moment where the "both" Peregrin(e)s look into each other's eyes and see their own reflection is beautiful. Even Pippin smelling the heat upon the rock as his nose brushed it was ever so real to me. You always draw me into your stories, seeing and feeling whatever the character is feeling. A true masterpiece! I look forward to yet another "Peregrin" tale!

oh my goodness! I LOVE IT, Pearl! WOW.
I'm at work, reading between calls, (I work in a hotel call center... it took me almost 1 1/2 hrs! yikes! stupid callers. ::giggle:: ) and I just LOVE the back-and-forth between Pip and the bird. That was just AWESOME. :D Thanks for sharing with us!

WOW thank you for giving this that much effort :) (really, didn't those callers know you were otherwise occupied?) Thank you for responding and I'm glad to have helped your afternoon go by. :D

Two lovely stories by you in as many nights! What a delight. I enjoyed this very much. I loved the watchful falcon. I also enjoy movie verse. I love the books, but I do enjoy the movies.
Author's reply
Thank you. I had jumped the gun by posting the other and it is in hiding temporarily.
I'm so glad you enjoyed this one as well :) Thank you for being a faithful responder :)

Oh my!
How beautiful!
I'm not normally crazy about movie-verse fics, though I don't mind elements of the movies in book-verse fics. But this is wonderful!
Absolutely wonderful!
Author's reply
Thank you, this is all the more the compliment if you normally aren't fond of movie-verse. A compliment as well that you even read it, let alone liked it.
I normally stick to book-verse, though I have taken touches from the movies before in some of my writing.
Thank you for giving this a chance :)

Oh, I loved that! For a while I was completely lost, but then it all became clear. The peregrin falcon. One of my personal favorite birds. Delightful little story about my favorite hobbit.
Author's reply
Thank you! Yes, I've been known to lose readers at the early stages of some of my stories, but I will never leave you confused ;) (I hope) I love the peregrine falcon as well :)

Big Clappings! Wonderful!! Yes movie verse, but No harm in that! I LOVED it. Just watched that part of the movie last night actually. Once again you've written a pippin story worth reading! I loved the bit with the bird. Beautiful. Such a smart perceptive bird!
trusting his "fool of a took" how touching!! what a nice boost for pippin.
I guess I'll forgive you for bumping my story off the front page *wink*

Peregrin stirs the heart, with his determination and his strength and a hint of pain that is just below the surface. I loved the line where he is 'thinking,' so as to distract himself from looking and fearing, and how he realizes that Gandalf is trusting him, even though he is a fool. Pippin is so often portrayed as a fool, when really there is so much spirit and worth hidden within a small body and a jesting smile. You've let the greatness in his heart soar clear and visible here.
Author's reply
My goodness, thank you! I'm glad I could let Pippin shine through. Thank you for reading and for responding, I deeply appreciate it :)
