Enadar is really coming along by leaps and bounds. He's doing so well here. All those memories, all of his siblings, and his home, and even details from the Last Alliance. It sounds like he really has the capacity to return to life as we know it, and Elrond's shot of energy will help him do it. There are a couple of typos and some awkward sentence constructions here, so you might want to skim this chapter over and fix them, but I really enjoy the way this story is going. (And I actually kind of liked movie Elrond as well as book Elrond.)

Author's reply

Yeah, I feared the grammar. My beta is currently incapacitated, but I'll repost the chapter as soon as she is back. Dratted English language. *sighs* Movie!Elrond is a matter of taste, I guess. I violently disliked him. But again, the only movie characters I liked were Boromir, Sam and Gollum, so my opinion probably doesn't count.

DAYNA · 7 March 2005 · Chapter 6: Part 6

Soledad, this story is getting better and better with each chapter! OMG this is just SO good! I'm REALLY enjoying this story. You're awesome! I can't wait to see how you draw him out, and (as a Legolas lover) how Legolas may help out. :) Your characterazations are wonderful, even if I've never read the Simirillion and get a bit lost with the names and who's who. I'm still completely hooked, and I hope Enadar fully recovers. He deserves it. You've written him so beautifully; he's just heartbreaking. I love the innocence you've given him, and I REALLY like his Amme. I want one of those! lol I can't stop gushing, which means I need to stop now. :D Keep the chapters comin'! I want more! ;)

Bodkin · 7 March 2005 · Chapter 6: Part 6

Cordophel’s doing a really good job of coaxing Enador back into his skin. Mind you, it helps being the closest thing he can get to his mother. She is good for him. And good at getting Thranduil to do what she wants.

French Pony · 6 March 2005 · Chapter 6: Part 6

Cordophel is so wonderful, warm, sweet, loving, caring. I want a Cordophel to love me like that sometime. Do you think Enadar would mind if I borrowed her while he was sleeping sometime?

Author's reply

I'm sure he won't object. :)

Redheredh · 6 March 2005 · Chapter 6: Part 6

What struck me most about this chapter was the theme of - over time - coming full circle. I feel that and of course Amme's words give us real hope for for Enadar. And I agree with you about that quote and the Lindar, whether one of the Faithful or not. ;)

Leaward · 6 March 2005 · Chapter 6: Part 6

I love how Amme 'knocks on the door' and allows Enadar to 'peek out' So touching and poignant. And the trickle of memories that is coming back to him. The conversation between Thranduil and Celeborn was interesting too, especially with the glimpse of Galadriel listening in. Looking forward to your next chapter ...

Brazgirl · 6 March 2005 · Chapter 6: Part 6

great chapter as always.

Karri · 6 March 2005 · Chapter 6: Part 6

oh a lovely chapter! I like Amme's introduction, and Thranduil was marvelous, as always. :-)

Author's reply

The Elvenking rules. Definitely. Glad you like it.

daw the minstrel · 6 March 2005 · Chapter 6: Part 6

There are two strands here that I am just enthralled by. One is the childish nature of Enadar's consciousness right now. It's like he's growing into himself all over again. The other is the magical nature of the wood elves. I love that.

Author's reply

Thanks. :) We pervy Wood-Elf fancier need to stick together, don't we? And yes, that's the idea exactly. Enadar needs to find back to himself. Even though it'll be a long way.

Mysterious Jedi · 6 March 2005 · Chapter 6: Part 6

I hope you put up more soon :)

eokat · 23 February 2005 · Chapter 5: Part 5

This is so good and so heartbreaking. So much suffering and love. There is only so much you can take, be you man or elf. Eokat

dayna · 21 February 2005 · Chapter 5: Part 5

oh my. more more more! this is SO good!

dayna · 21 February 2005 · Chapter 2: Part 2

Wow... I thought I was reviewing chapter 1 and looked... i'm in ch. 2! I'm completely hooked, Soledad. This is amazing. wow. I wish I could properly phrase how intranced I am with this story.... I should be sleeping now, but I've gotta read at least one more chapter! This is wonderful!

Bodkin · 20 February 2005 · Chapter 5: Part 5

It's horrible to think of Enadar being incarcerated in the pits below Dol Guldur while his mother was imprisoned there. The strength of even the tiniest sensation - the taste of water, the flavour of fruit - and the way they stimulate snatches of memory is beautifully done. His reactions seem to be a little more co-ordinated, but it will take centuries for him to make any real recovery. But they are elves: they have patience.

French Pony · 20 February 2005 · Chapter 5: Part 5

They're getting better, little baby step by little baby step. It is good to see that Thranduil and Enadar have developed some sort of a relationship. It seems to do them both good and speed their healing.

Brazgirl · 20 February 2005 · Chapter 5: Part 5

You planned it finished? No! I am happy you decided to continue. This is very good.

daw the minstrel · 20 February 2005 · Chapter 5: Part 5

There's slow but sure progress being made here, I think. I'm coming around to Thranduil's way of thinking about Galadriel: Enadar might indeed be harmed by having his mind invaded. He seems so fragile and he's been nearly destroyed.

Mirkwoodmaiden · 12 February 2005 · Chapter 4: Part 4

I love it! The writing wonderfully reflects the mood of the story. The words themselves give the feeling that Enadar is awakening to the world around him. I love the fact that his anchor to reality is Ada. Beautifully written. You've also captured Thranduil's somewhat unbending and unforgiving nature, but through all of that you can still sense his deep love of his son! Wonderful! More please! :-)) MM

eokat · 11 February 2005 · Chapter 4: Part 4

OK you have got me hooked on this heart breaking story. I know the JRR hinted uon the torture of the elves and indeed upon many other races that were held prisoner..but this is just so emotional. Eokat

BlueEyedElf · 9 February 2005 · Chapter 4: Part 4

Wow! What a great story! I just love all the angst. Sounds like poor Enadar is going to have long, painful recovery. I also can't imagine what poor Thranduil is going to be going through when he is not able to be with his son because of his duties as king. Finally, it's going to be VERY interesting to see how Legolas reacts to the brother he never knew he had. I am really enjoying this and can't wait for the next chapter.

Author's reply

I never said Legolas didn't know he had a brother. He just thought that said brother had fallen in the Battle upon Dagorlad, you know. :) I'm very happy that you like my wee little story. I never actually planned to write something like this. But plotcritters bit when and where they want. Even during a bus ride. *g*

Bodkin · 8 February 2005 · Chapter 4: Part 4

I love this story. It is not going to be easy for Thranduil to help his son through this - and he has Lasgalen to run at a very tricky time, too. I am glad he will take some advice from Elrond, at least. (Half starved sounds as if it would be an over-statement. This is going to get much harder before it gets better.)

Cas · 8 February 2005 · Chapter 4: Part 4

That's a wonderful story, which I am glad I discovered. The characters are wonderfully described and your Thranduil is like the ones I like to read about. Thanks for such a nice writing, Cas

Author's reply

Thank you. I'm an avid fan of the Elvenking and try to do him right. Valar know, he gets enough unjust treatment, that poor Elf.

Raksha The Demon · 7 February 2005 · Chapter 4: Part 4

I normally don't read too many elf-stories; but this one has caught my eye and kept it. Great to see a convincing story of Thranduil as a fiercely devoted father; not that JRRT ever said he wouldn't be, but some fanfiction writers assume otherwise. I agree with Thranduil - I wouldn't want Artanis poking around in my head either!

nat · 7 February 2005 · Chapter 4: Part 4

::gasp:: oh my goodness i love it! im sure his recovery (assuming there *will* be a recovery ehhh?) will be long and arduous, but i can't wait to read more!! seriously, i cant wait....update now...now...nooooow...boo you didnt update...well i'm sure you get the picture. geeze i cant imagine how thranduil felt at finding his long lost son! and in such a condition! i'm hoping you're gnna include legolas eventually, i think you will since you've spoken about him a couple of times. his first meeting with a brother he's never met should be interesting, to say the least! ahhh i wanna read more! so update asap, k? yay i love finding great fics!!

Author's reply

Thank you. I promise to do my best so that you can get your fix. *g*

French Pony · 7 February 2005 · Chapter 4: Part 4

Thranduil is a very brave Elf to undertake Enadar's psychological healing without help, but I can't say I blame him. Galadriel might do wonders, but there is something about outside shrinks that just gives one the shivers. If all the family gathers together and really works at it, I'll bet they could do wonders with Endadar. No son of mine shall ever be poked in their minds by Artanis. Too late for that, Thranduil. Enadar also is a brave and loving Elf to risk leaving his safe place for this stranger called Ada.
