Now there's a picture! Lots of pretty hobbit lasses offering what Terry Pratchett refers to in the Discworld novels as 'negotiable affection' to the men of Minas Tirith! I think the hobbits would have been a lusty lot - they are earthy and children of nature after all, but I think some people tend to think of them as being rather goody-goody and sickly sweet. I'll bet they were little rascals really!

I'm not certain I can fully accept the premise of the story, but still enjoy the situation. So, one has already attached herself to Frodo, and another toward Legolas? And our dear Pippin is so--lusty? Heh!

Am very glad you like my version of Pippin; I really enjoy writing him as a bit of a hormone-crazed teenager. :-) Given his canonical taste for the good life, I don't think it's much of a stretch to see him that way.

(hangs head in shame) Yes, it's been a disgracefully long time, I know--it's taken me two years to get my heart & head back together after my mother & grandfather died (& barely speaking to my father now doesn't help). I was rather overwhelmed last night to discover I could still write; thought I'd lost it for good! Anyway, I'm determined to finish all my incomplete stories in the next two to three months, especially "Pearl," work pressures permitting. Wish me luck! :-)

Same here, particularly given how quickly most main characters start reproducing after the war is over. And I've always seen hobbits as the most hot-blooded race in M-e; the family trees certainly suggest they're little country folk who like to have lots of children. I imagine the Shire can be a very lively place. . .

Like Faramir, I assumed that hobbits would have prostitutes too and was delighted by the idea that the cultures could be different. I always like being taken by surprise like that. Sounds like everyone is going to get an education of some sort.

LoL. If I were to copy and paste things I liked out of this story, I would end up re-pasting the enitre thing! What a wonderful romp! (And so wickedly in character!) You had me chuckling and delighted with every line and retort. But there was one line that really got me laughing, instead of just giggling like a moron inside my head, and it was this: 'Frodo nudges his blushing gardener, who seems to be trying to tie himself into a knot.' LoL! I can't wait for chapter two.

Oh Regina, what a wickedly wonderful story! Legolas is so in character with this: “but I cannot imagine reducing an act so sacred to a mere transaction. We of elven kind regard physical love as being more than a mingling of bodies—it is a mingling of spirits.” And then there's Sam: "Frodo nudges his blushing gardener, who seems to be trying to tie himself into a knot." Ah, and Frodo with a "wicked gleam" in his eyes. Love it! Along with everyone else, I eagerly await Chapter 2!
